Another meeting. This was her third one now, and with each one she felt a bit more hopeful than the last. It felt like she could do this. That she was beginning to dig herself out of the hole she had made wide and deep. Even if, at times, she questioned why she even bothered. In those drug induced hazes, it was easy to just…forget.
Fingers itched at the thought. Her small stash at the apartment well hidden and just waiting…no!
Knuckles whitened on her wooden staff as she heaved in a deep breath to re-focus herself. And not a moment too soon either.
The presence of another, most certainly of order, clipped into the outer reaches of her sensing. Considering her choice in locations, a small run down warehouse on the outskirts of town, she wasn’t expecting too many others to even bother patrolling out this way. So surely this was the Knight she had contacted.
Turning in the direction she could feel the aura, Hy waited as patiently as she could while shifting slowly from one foot to the other unable to remain still.

Pendour's confidence had come a long way since back after the incident when she'd barely been able to leave the apartment for months, even to buy groceries. Now she was reaching out to people on her own, sometimes, and answering messages, and trying to make friends, and connections. She still got the spikes of nerves in her chest every time she met someone new, though. Walking through an industrial district alone with her thoughts, especially with the dark, eerily empty way it tended to be at night, did not do much to help the situation. By the time she picked up on the other aura in the distance, she was finger-combing her hair and adjusting it so that it sat over her bad eye. It wasn't a solution, not really, but it helped enough that Pendour was able to move forwards, and even smile when the figure of a woman in green came into view. "Hi, um, I'm Pendour?" she said. "I'm haven't seen any Earth knights in a long time. Your dress is so beautiful."

The aura of the Knight announced the other’s arrival before any physical sign could be found. Hy was immensely relieved that Pendour had actually come. Anxieties had teased and almost convinced her that Pendour wouldn’t show up. She was honestly growing weary of the constant mental battles she had to deal with.
Her first impression of Pendour was the woman was incredibly sweet, what with the compliment right off the bat. Hy smiled. “Thank you and it’s great to meet you, Pendour. I honestly was worried about reaching out to you.” She shifted a bit, utilizing her staff to take some of her weight as she leaned towards it.
“I know my message was a bit vague, but there’s a bit to much to explain in a message. But, to just break it down to the nitty gritty, your homeworld has an ingredient for a tincture I need.”

"Oh," said Pendour with the softest little laugh, "You don't have to be all worried about meeting me. I know I look scary-" She could soften the impact of the facial scars with her practiced tricks of positioning, but there wasn't much to be done about the star-shaped burns that pockmarked her forearms, or the deeper scar that wrapped around her shoulder. "But I try to be nice, really." She wasn't even a warrior. She was out here trying to resolve conflicts and to pull people away from Chaos, but she decided to keep her silence on that for this moment, just in case Hy- Brasil was one of the extreme ones who wanted to see the destruction of the Negaverse at all costs. "You wanted something from my Wonder? That's simple enough. Do you want to go up and look for it right now?" Mixed in with the scars were the Transcendence marks that meant Pendour could go up to her Wonder quite freely. Today was one of those days, and she reached out a hand to the other Knight with a soft, inviting smile on her face. "That's probably easier than you trying to describe it to me."

The woman in front of her certainly looked like someone who had seen her fair share of battles. Assuming, of course, that all of the scarring was from the fellow Knight's involvement in the 'silent' war being waged in Destiny City. There was the chance that they were from something else but the specific shape of the ones on the woman's forearms felt as if they could be nothing else but magical/battle in nature. Well, likely both if one counted the glowing transcendence marks.
"Ah, I swear it has nothing to do with how you look." Hy promised. "I just never know how others may react when asked for help. So, I prefer to do as much as I can on my own. Unfortunately, that's just not possible right now." She offered Pendour a smile.
And her smile widened at the woman's invitation. Tension in her shoulders lessened some as she reached out to the offer. "That would be fantastic, to be honest."
The longer the Earth Knight waited, the further she fell. If she could get the ingredients for this tincture, hopefully, she'd be able to find her way back to herself again. No more horrid nightmares, depression, and anxieties eating away at her constantly. Even now, as she gripped the other woman's hand, the gnawing doubt and fear tried to claw their way to the surface. Would it all work? It had to. Her ancestor seemed certain this would solve her problems. But then there was dealing with the problem on her Wonder without finding herself in trouble again. Was it possible? Was Hy-Brasil a lost cause? Certainly not? Right? Casheel certainly still had hope, but Hy's was waning with each passing day.
Not to mention her life had been, quite literally turned upside down since awakening after 2 years in stasis and...
She squeezed Pendour's hand a little too tightly as Hy mentally battled her inner demons before realizing what she was doing and forcefully relaxing again.

"It's okay to ask for help," Pendour said, and while her voice often came out soft, now that she could could tell that the other woman's nerves went deeper than just being startled by her scars, she put more intention into sounding gentle. She looked at her, full on, and her smile was gentle, too. "I don't think I would have gotten this far on my own." In the war, maybe. There were a lot of people who didn't understand why she felt as strongly as she did about conflict resolution, so she had to do a lot of that work on her own, but in life she found herself leaning on other people quite often. Without more hesitation, she interlaced her fingers with Hy-Brasil's, and she whispered her oath, and she let the two of them be whisked away to Pendour. They found themselves in a glass dome under the sea. The light fell in ripples across the ground, and across them. The floor beneath them was made of mosaic tiles, in the places where it hadn't been chipped away. The main cove and its waterfalls was off a little ways in front of them, but they could hear the flowing water from here. To their left was the staircase that led to the second story, in all its grand marble statue, but Pendour's gaze flicked off to the right, where the small garden plots were. That seemed like the place where they could find things for a tincture. She could feel the tightness in Hy-Brasil's palm, and Pendour pressed her lips together for a moment before saying, "This place is, um, a vacation spot, maybe, but it's also meant to be a place of mental healing. As its Knight, I have magic that can help calm nerves. If that might help you, right now, we could always try it." If Hy-Brasil just wanted to find what she needed and leave, Pendour wouldn't be offended, but she did want this place to feel like as much like a sanctuary as it could, and she wanted to offer peace to everyone she could.

The pure beauty of the Wonder made Hy-Brasil suck in a breath as her eyes wandered upwards and around. This was so much different than Hy-Brasil. This felt other worldly and fantastical in a way Hy-Brasil never was or could be. Neither were bad or better for their differences, but after spending so much time on her Wonder, Hy was amazed by Pendour. The way the light rippled across the numerous marble surfaces was such a gorgeous touch. Though, she had to admit, if she was one prone to motion sickness the abundance of movement everywhere could potentially make someone ill. Hy could thankfully just enjoy the mesmerizing display it put on. "It's honestly, beautiful."
As Pendour began to explain the Wonders history and her abilities, Hy hesitated. Her problems ran a little deeper, more chaotic if you will, in comparison to most people's. That wasn't a boast either. She'd gladly give all of this trouble and pain up in a heartbeat. But she worried. Could something happen? Hy hadn't seen any signs that the chaos could physically lash out at someone in anyway but maybe that was because she hadn't offered the right circumstances?
Teeth gnawed at her bottom lip as she thought about the offer. But if it could help...
Hy was nodding her head before she realized it. "Just..." She fidgeted a bit as she took her hand back from Pendour before taking a deep breath. "Nevermind. Yes, if you honestly don't mind then it might be worth a try."

The other knight was already saying that her Wonder was beautiful, and Pendour's smile twitched up into something a little more proud. She'd worked hard on this place over the last few years, getting the plants growing and the cove restored to its former glory. Then she blinked twice, looking embarrassed. "Oh, um, welcome," she said. "I forgot to tell you that." She was welcome here. Everyone was, regardless of what her ancestor had to say about it when he came out from wherever he tended to hide. Hy-Brasil hesitated for a moment, but Pendour was already grabbing her ocarina from subspace as she waited for an answer, rubbing her thumb over the cool ceramic again and again in a soothing motion. Her artifact wasn't a weapon, and she wanted Hy-Brasil to see that. Her magic wasn't anything to feat. When she nodded, Pendour raised the instrument to her lips and began to play. The sound was rich and earthy. Even without magic, it might have been calming to listen to, but Pendour made sure to channel what she could to offer the Earth Knight a moment of peace. Kolina Magic - When Pendour plays her ocarina, the negative emotions of those within five feet of her fade and are replaced with a feeling of blissful, almost sedative relaxation. The strong willed can shake the effects with intense concentration, but it serves as an effective distraction. She can channel this magic for one minute

She smiled at the proffered welcome.
The music that Pendour played was interesting. The instrument had a tone to it she'd never heard before but pleasant nonetheless. Magic was certainly laced in each note that was played, and Hy closed her eyes and forced her body to relax and just soak it all in. The anxieties she had over attempting this slowly washed away like sand on a beach. The darkness that always remained in her vision, while not completely gone, shrank to what Hy would consider a comfortable level. A quietness fill her mind as she focused on the tune and Hy let herself just enjoy it. Hell, when was the last time shed felt so light? The day she'd reawakened on Hy-Brasil?
When the last notes were played Hy stood silent, eyes still closed with a small pleasant smile. She let out a slow breath before opening her eyes to look at Pendour. As if taking a mental tally, the Knight paused as she searched inwardly. She felt good.
She wanted to kiss Pendour then and there. Instead she dipped her head, red hair falling around her face. "Thank you." She said with clear relief touching her voice.
No matter how long the magic's effect would last, Hy intended to enjoy every last second of it.
Lifting her head she looked at Pendour and sighed contently. "I wish I could bottle that magic of yours up and take it with me." A grin joined the playful joke.

Pendour's magic had never worked on her. She had no idea what it felt like, exactly. When she used it, she had to find her own peace in watching the lines and anxieties in people's faces erase themselves, or seeing their shoulders relax away from their ears, or hearing what they had to say to her when it was all over. Hy-Brasil's was one of the more extreme ones. It was almost like some subtle energy shifted in the air as she felt better, and Pendour was quick to smile at her as she took the ocarina away from her lips and tied it onto her pearl belt. "Maybe there's a way to bottle it," she said, and the other Knight said it like a joke, but Pendour's lips pressed together in thought. "I know there's magical artifacts around, enchanted things. Maybe there's a way to put a calming enchantment on something, but in the meantime, you'll just have to come see me whenever it gets to be too much, okay?" Pendour might have only known this woman for a few minutes, but that was long enough that she didn't want her to have to struggle with anything she didn't have to. "Speaking of bottling, what was it you needed for your tincture? I've got a whole garden going, although it's mostly things I brought from Earth, and then there's some kelp and coral starting to grow in the cove."

Hy was enjoying her newfound relief. It felt like an eternity since she had felt this calm and clear-headed. The darkness threatened along the edges of her gifted peace, but for now, it was kept at bay. Either by the continuing for Pendour's magic or the sheer will in which the Earth Knight clung to this small fraction of clearness. How long it would last was undetermined, but every little moment was going to be relished. "If only I could be so lucky to stumble across an item with magic like that or know how to create them. Hopefully, once this tincture is made, I won't have to worry about it anymore." She smiled graciously though at the Knight's offer. "But thank you, I will make sure to take you up on that offer if I need to."
The Knight's gaze shifted from Pendour to the water dome around them before settling on the gardens that sat in the distance. "I need some Lavender." She said. "Curiously enough, the tincture was very clear it had to be from Pendour.
"I thought it was a bit odd that the plant couldn't have just come from some garden on Earth." She shifted weight from one leg to the other, and her staff now utilized more as a tool to lean on. "After witnessing your magic first-hand though I can understand why there's a difference."
Hy, being an avid gardener herself, knew that soil composition, temperatures, atmosphere, light, and even care could make quite a difference in how a plant grew. Throw in the extra little matter of magic and who knew what sort of special properties a plant could develop? If that lavender from Pendour helped the calming attributes of Pendour's magic, then perhaps there was a way to bottle up some of this special magic.

"Yes, bottling magic would be a whole project in itself," said Pendour, although the wistful look that had come across her face suggested that she wasn't really discouraged by that fact. "It'd take years, maybe." It would be worthy work, though. Restoring this place enough that it could offer a moment of tranquility to passerbys had been like that. If she could bring it to the next level, somehow? Yes, that was an idea that was going to be bouncing around in her head, even once she made her way back home. In the meantime, though, she'd see what she could do about Hy-Brasil's tincture. "Lavender's easy. It was one of the first things I planted, so it's been soaking up the magic of this place for a long time, now, and it likes to take over, so it could use a trim." Her sentence trailed off into a moment of humming, and then she turned down the path to the right and waved for the other knight to follow her. "That means you'll get to see the gardens. Which, that's lovely. I haven't gotten to take anyone back here in a while. Mostly everyone just wants to go look at the water, since I got that running." The gardens, though, she'd worked equally as hard to fix up, and it showed. The plots were inlaid in the ground, between the paths, in a somewhat formal pattern, and in response Pendour had tried to go for that more French aesthetic. She hadn't gotten any bushes, but there were trees that she'd brought up, painstakingly, one by one. There were roses and there were coral bells and there were some vines growing on trellises across the walkways that had been her latest project in this area. There were supposed to be statues and fountains around, too, but those were still in various states of crumbled. "Here," said Pendour, with a smile. The lavender was in a plot with some chamomile and some other herbs, and it was looking a little bushy.

Pendour looked intrigued at the idea of bottling magic. Hy-Brasil only grew tired at the thought of all of the research that would be involved with such an endeavor. She was so tired of research. No, once her problem was taken care of she wanted to not have an iota to do with any sort of research for a while.
So she left the other Knight to her thoughts as they made their way to the gardens. "Oh." She said softly, just barely above a breath at the gardens. They were well cared for and placed. The gardens were something out of some romance movie and Hy-Brasil was letting her garden loving heart bask in it's glory.
"You've done such a wonderful job." She finally said after stopping to look at a trellised vine that was flourishing.
She followed Pendour to the bed where the deep purple flowers bloomed. The long stalks and fragrance were a dead giveaway. Hy took a deep breath, relishing the scent. "You certainly know your way around a garden," Hy said as she gingerly touched one of the long, multiple-bloomed stems. With the ease of someone also used to her way around the garden, Hy separated a few of the blooming stalks from the mother plant utilizing her fingers and nails.
She only took a few, enough to make a small bundle in her hand that she lifted to her nose. "Thank you." She said heartily.

While Hy-Brasil went over to pick lavender, Pendour lingered by one of the trellises. The roses had grown even since the last time she'd been up here, about a week ago, and they were blooming like they were wild things. Pendour ran her thumb over a soft petal and crooned a whisper to the flowers about how beautiful they were. She gave a shy nod when the other knight complimented things. "Thank you," she said. "The conditions here make it easier than it might have been somewhere else. The beds came all installed with drip irrigation that didn't take long to get working, and the temperature's really consistent in here." She turned away from just the roses to smile at all the rest of it. "Of course I still had to bring up all the plants, and do a little problem solving here and there, but they've all been good about growing." The Wonder might have gotten its share of visitors, but it wasn't often that she had actual gardeners up here that she could talk to these things about. It was nice. She was glad she had met this woman, beyond just being able to help her. It looked like Hy-Brasil was holding a bunch of lavender now, which Pendour nodded at. "Did you get what you need?"

It sounded like the garden was well equipped to keep the plants here more than happy and Pendour had every right to be proud of what she had accomplished. "You did a fantastic job bringing them all up here and letting them thrive. The garden is quite the oasis." Funny considering the entire Wonder itself felt like a special little oasis under water.
At the question, Hy nodded. "I did." She held up the lavender. "This should be more than enough for the tincture. Thank you so much. Again. Hopefully I can get everything I need quickly." She offered a smile, truthfully enjoying her time. It had been so long since she had felt so good. So, free. Hy was going to enjoy ever second of her peace.
"Your Wonder is amazing. Truthfully. I would love to come visit again, hopefully under better circumstances. Then you can really show me around. Right now though, I should get back."
