((Occurs right after this solo))

She was standing there, illuminated by a building light, aware of her surroundings but not really paying too much attention. Dessie knew this city. She knew its dangers and wasn’t scared. She could take care of herself. She was used to taking care of herself. Besides she had more things on her mind that she was focused on, thoughts that were quite a bit more concerning.

She wasn’t ignoring her surroundings, far from it really, but the sounds of traffic passing by in the distance was just background noise. The building behind her was one of those ‘store on the bottom, apartments on top’ kind of place with the store closed for the day. It was a day time cafe, maybe a bakery, something like that. Either way it was closed for the day, personally Dessie didn’t think it was all that late but the nearly gone sun disagreed. The street was empty, only a few cars were parallel parked, then again it was a quiet part of town. She had just started to walk, letting her mind work out the problem at hand.

So when the sound of a can clattering against the ground broke the silence Dessie knew, she just knew, that s**t was about to hit the fan. The blonde turned towards the sound to see a hulking mass of shadow detach itself from the void that was the alleyway and launch itself towards her. She ducked and side stepped, stumbling over the curb, and winced as she felt her jacket rip, the sound of keys and her phone smashing against the ground a dead give away that the creature had shredded her coat pockets. The youma, because of course it was a youma, had been moving so fast she couldn’t make out it’s shape but it had claws, or something like them because as she spun away Dessie saw the edges of her good jacket in tatters, like someone took scissors or knives to it, or, go figure, claws. She missed the small little photo fluttering away to settle on the asphalt a little ways away, the grainy black and white image almost invisible against the blacktop.

The blonde took several steps away before turning back towards the creature, ready to fight, when her stomach kind of tightened. It was an indescribable feeling. A movement almost. But it was enough for her to remember that she had a lot more to lose right then then her life if she lost this fight. Wrapping an arm protectively around her growing baby bump Dessie turned and started to run. She had to get somewhere there was a senshi, or a knight. Hell she would even take a chibi at this point! Anyone really! Someone who could fight. She would fight if she had too but she honestly had no idea how or what she could do while pregnant. Normally she would just… beat it into dust but now, now she couldn’t do that. Not without risking the child growing in her.

Her child.

Her baby.
