Now that the little fight with Alkmene was finished, Laysithea made her way to where she was going to meet Malus. She wanted him to know about her upgrade, before anyone else. Of course Soleiyu knew but…Malus deserved to know first. He had been the one to take her to space. To help her purify he…
Damnit, he deserved to know, and she didn’t want to just say it. She wanted to show it.
And Evan had given her the perfect opening, sending a message that he had something neat to tell her, so…perfect! Two birds with one stone.
She felt Malus before she saw him, the comforting aura of another eternal senshi, and before he could turn to see her, Lysithea leapt at him, laughing and hugging him from behind, hands going up over his eyes.
“Guess who?”

Malus squawked indignantly, and if it hadn’t been a White Moon Senshi, if he hadn’t recognizedher voice, he might have attacked. He’d known that Lysithea was on her way but he hadn’t really thought it was her getting closer.
She’d just been a Super Senshi the last time he’d seen her.
“Lysithea?” he blurted, because the voice was unmistakable. He tried to turn to see her, eager and hopeful. “--You’re an Eternal Senshi again?” he asked hopefully, enthusiastically. He was brimming with excitement, and all of his previous worry seemed to completely dissipate.

Lysithea grinned, nodding. “Yeah! Yeah it happened the other day, but…this is the first time I’ve gone out since then, and it wouldn’t have worked to just tell you. Obviously I had to show you, so I had Sol keep it a secret. Are you surprised?”
She didn’t wait for an answer before she threw her arms around him, hugging him tightly.
He was worth it. He was worth coming back, and she knew it. Alkmene. Albite. They were both rude, idiots. This was what real family felt like. This…love that was just unconditional.
“What surprise did you have for me? You said there was news? Are you okay? Is everyone okay? Did you have a really good day at the truck? Did we win the lottery?” Pulling away slightly, Lysithea laughed, her face relaxed and almost like it used to be.
Her heart felt lighter than it had since she woke up back in Negaspace…and that.
…Was really nice.

“Yes! I am very surprised! But, congratulations! I knew you could do it, I knew it was just a matter of time. I’m so proud of you, you worked so hard. It’s so good to see you like this!”
He returned the hug, and even if he didn’t really like surprises, he was so happy for her that he immediately forgave her for spooking him like that.
“I didn’t have a big surprise or anything. I mean, it sort of is! But everyone’s fine. A sheep bit me. Or like, nibbled on me aggressively. I just wanted to visit my homeworld real fast, just to clear my mind. And there were sheep there, Lysithea. Like. More than one. At least six. They looked so cute and friendly, but I got close and–I don’t know! They got mad at me! Like, super territorial. On my homeworld! Like–I was so surprised that I just left. I didn’t know what to do so I just came back here and had to tell someone! So I messaged you immediately.”

“Sheep?” Lysithea pulled away, her eyes growing wide. “Wait what? There were no sheep there when I…I mean. When. The last time I was there!” She didn’t want to remind him of the fact she had to go there to leave the Negaverse…obviously she supposed it wouldn't matter but. She didn’t want to bring it up when they were both so excited.
“Did…this is going to sound really stupid, but were they like. Did they make sheep noises? What did they look like? Besides cute! Tell me everything!”
At the mention of a bite though, she frowned slightly. “Where did it bite you? Do you need any healing? I can do that if you do, if they’re mean like that…you maybe shouldn’t go up alone until we can figure out what to do with them, I don’t want you getting hurt in your safe place.”

“No, no,” Malus seemed a bit flustered. “I’m just not having a great time with animals right now. Thank goodness Maxim and Soleiyu are smart. A squirrel tried to attack me earlier, too. I might be doing something wrong.” He shrugged quickly, eager to get back on topic.
He held out his hand, and there was a distinct nibble shape on his arm–red, agitated, but not even enough to have broken skin or bruised. It looked like it was already healing despite how fresh the injury was.
“I think it should be fine, I don’t want to steal your magic. Just in case something goes wrong later!” He hoped not, though. He was sort of ready to go lounge in bed already. “I don’t think it’s dangerous, exactly, just–it’s complicated. They didn’t charge at me or anything, I just–I assumed they’d be friendly! I mean, other people get things on their homeworlds. Pretty things! Nice things! I guess I let that get to my head and stopped thinking clearly. They did make some sheep noises. They were eating some of the tall grass, the ones that look like cattails? They made sheepy noises. They had a lot of fluff, it looked so soft. Like cotton candy. Their wool had like, this little shimmer to it? Sparkly. I don’t know, I didn’t get to see much of them. My mind was going a mile a minute. I can’t go up again for a while, anyway, but I’m going to have to come up with a plan for what to do with them. We’ll figure something out so I can take you up there, but I’m going to have to google, like. Sheepherding or something. ‘How to make sheep like you’.”

“Horses like sugar, right? Can you give like, sugar cubes to the sheep to make them sweeter, do you think?”
Lysithea was almost excited…she wanted to see these sheep. And maybe hug them.
“I bet they’re really soft…Ugh. Malus I want cute creatures up on Lysithea…I hope I get some soon…do you think I’ll have unicorns?”
The thought really only occurred to her, but she looked at her friend as though he would have all of the answer...he had sheep after all. “I had some butterflies…and I think a cricket or something the last time I was up there. I heard some kind of bug. A musical bug.” She held up her hands, curling her fingers into air quotes. “Musical bug. More like shrill screaming but. Whatever. It was mine, so I have to love it. The butterflies were pretty though. They looked like glass…which. Is kind of funny since glass is your thing.”

“...I don’t think…sheep are related to horses,” Malus said after a few seconds, and looked perplexed as he questioned his understanding of animals in general. Were all farm animals related? Probably not. Did sheep like sugar? Was she trying to actually turn them into cotton candy?
“I think it’s far more likely that you’ll have unicorns. I mean, how could the Senshi of unicorns not? I’ve found a few bugs, too. There are a few glassy bugs, maybe we have some in common? I was afraid to touch them, but the moon passed through their wins and made a really neat pattern. One of these days we’re going to have to like, take a weekend trip so we can actually explore and see things. If I could also stop setting off traps, that would be great. I’m worried the sheep are going to get into trouble, though, so I really want to–I don’t know, maybe built a fence or something so I can keep them safe until I make sure the area’s okay for them to explore? Ugh, I don’t even know where to start, I just don’t want them to get hurt or fall in a hole they can’t climb out of.”

“I mean…You never know! I…you’re most likely right, but now I want to research that for myself, but…hm.” It made sense, they were both farm animals but..perhaps that was all they really had in common but…
She felt her cheeks going red and shrugged. “I don’t know, I just. Thought of horses when I think of sheep. Don’t judge me.” Lysithea laughed, embarrassed.
“Ah. Anyway! Moving on, but. I’ll figure out what sheep can get, and if they can have anything to make them happy…or. Maybe ask Soleiyu. He always knows everything, or he pretends to. I’d like to see them though. A fence could be good, though…how long do you think that would take? You’d need to bring a few people, or…Malus, do you know how to build a fence?”
Lysithea didn’t. She could freely admit that as a true fact.

“I could never judge you,” Malus said, smiling with only affection. He didn’t laugh at her, but he was obviously glad to be in good company. “I can ask Soleiyu, definitely. I don’t know how long it would take to build a fence, I have never built a fence. Look at these hands.”
He extended both of his hands palms up so she could get a good look.
They were smooth enough. “I barely even know how to use a hammer. Building a fence takes a day or less in my games but I suspect it’d be much longer otherwise. I don’t even know how many people I could bring up to help. And all of the supplies? Ugh. That sounds dreadful, I don’t even know how to do that. I’ll have to see how much that would even cost. Ugh,” he sighed heavily. “And there’s no guarantee that I could even herd the sheep anywhere. There’s a little valley that I thought they’d be happy in, I cleared that and there’s no traps, but…I doubt they would work with me to get there. They’d probably stampede me and run away if I tried.”

Lysithea chuckled and took hold of his hands, squeezing them gently. “Well, then let’s go home and start looking up things about sheep. Worst comes to worst, we can just train Maxim to herd them and figure things out from there, right?”
She stuck her tongue out and moved closer, looping her arm through his. “I’m…half joking about that, but, let’s go learn about sheep, and we can tell everyone else that I’m strong again, since it’s all important. You need to take me to see these sheep as soon as you can though, that’s something I need to do.”
Perhaps…she’d bring some sugar cubes. Just in case. Or…find out what sheep could eat. Regardless, she wanted…needed to hug one.
