To say that Alkmene was unopposed to picking on those weaker than him was....well, pretty much entirely accurate. There was nothing fair about magical warfare, and that meant, in his opinion, that there was absolutely nothing unfair about purposely seeking out someone he could absolutely take in a fight.
In fact, it was smart! Better than lining himself up to get his a** kicked!
So, when he spotted a Senshi and the only aura nearby felt weaker than his, he dropped off the roof he was on and positioned himself directly behind her.
"Envious Glare," he whispered under his breath, letting his magic go--better to start disarming her now, just in case this got hairy.
"What's someone like you doing out all by yourself? Hasn't anyone told you it's dangerous? Nasty people lurking out here and all?"Quote: Alkmene speaks the name of his attack, and a burst of greek sparkles showers around him, to a radius of 10 feet. Depending on class, the magic applies the following effects to enemies within the radius: Senshi lose one use of their most powerful attack, up to Super stage; Knights lose 1/3 of their remaining magic pool; Vanguardian weapons lose their magical effects for 35 seconds; or Negaverse officers are unable to summon their weapon for 35 seconds—an application of envy’s desire to destroy that which it does not have. Alkmene can use this attack twice per battle.

Mary had been practicing. Especially after that failed and nightmare filled encounter with the corrupted senshi. Sure, she was practicing, and had some speed when she was punching the air, had some strength too when she was punching her pillows but, perhaps what she should really invest in when she was practicing was to remember to mind her surroundings.
She wasn’t, and when the voice came out of the darkness, and the aura washed over her, Mary let out a squeal of surprise and utter panic, turning around and punching at the chaos ghost voice without really thinking about it.
Though, maybe that was a good thing! If her reaction was to punch. To lash out…that showed she was learning…right?
Kind of.
Perhaps. “Oh my god, you’re a ghost! Don’t just ******** sneak up on people what the ******** s**t!”
He shouldn’t have snuck up on her, now that she was paying attention…he felt strong...and disgusting.

The punch landed, and Alkmene laughed. What a poor, easily startled kid. The hit was a little hard, but nothing he wasn't starting to get used to--especially since this wasn't nearly as nasty as what he'd eaten from Lysithea. She'd actually been pissed, and actually aimed to hurt.
This was nothing.
Alkmene took a step back, thinking over whether or not he wanted ot hand out a real asskicking here. This was, after all, someone much younger than him, but then, "would fight a child" was pretty high on his personal list of character flaws, so.
"Aw, kiddo, if I was a ghost, you wouldn't have been able to hit me. I'm just like any other Senshi, except that I could in fact totally kill you if I felt like it." Probably. It would be pretty easy to just...pluck her starseed and walk away.
But that also wouldn't be nearly as fun, so he was disinclined to do so.

“Kiddo. I’m seventeen!” Mary huffed, and took several steps back of her own, crossing her arms over her chest and trying to appear far more threatening than her five foot three frame allowed.
“I didn’t mean to hit you, I was just practicing and you. I wasn’t paying attention, and I will fully admit that it was my fault and I’m sorry for just. Punching you. I guess you’re right about ghosts not being able to be hit…but…” Pouting for just a moment, Mary brighted soon after. “You could have been a poltergeist. Those can be hit, can’t they?”
Anything that would make her sound like less of a blubbering idiot. “I hope you don’t kill me. Or feel like killing me. I’m not really worth killing, at least I don't think so. I’m nothing more than your normal, friendly neighborhood cat loving…far too old chibi senshi…” For a moment, a bit of bitterness colored her tone and she huffed, kicking a small rock on the ground.
“Not going to lie. It sucks.”

"Oh. Seventeen. So grown up," Alkmene drawled. Not like he was coming from a particularly high perch, at 25, but it was still the principle of the thing.
At least she was apologizing. He felt a little bad for using his magic on her--but then again, it was all about self-defense, really. She could decide she actually wanted to throw punches at any time. So while he relaxed, a little, he was still wary.
"It really didn't hurt all that bad," he said, dryly. "Gotta keep practicing those punches." He spread his arms wide. "Anyway, still not a poltergeist. And, you know, nah, I don't think I want to kill you, either. I'd feel like a jerk, doing that to some kid who's not even fighting back."
Alkmene sighed, heavily. "It's boring, like that."
To say the absolute least.
"Anyway, what do you mean, chibi senshi? I thought those were the really little ones? How are you seventeen and still one of those?" Not that Alkmene had spent much time learning the ins and outs of the White Moon before he'd decided to run for the side with the soul-stealing power at maximum speed, but, you know, he knew a little bit. A couple of things.

“Good. It should be boring. Killing people shouldn’t be fun...unless you’re a complete psychopath but. You’re talking too rationally to be one of those.” Mary huffed and kicked another stone. “Yeah well. I started all of this years ago. I was like…twelve or something and I just. Haven't been the best senshi, obviously.”
Her cheeks puffed up and she shrugged. “I’m working on it though. Don’t want to be stuck as a half powered nobody for the rest of my life. I’m kind of a joke, to be honest but. You seriously don’t need to just listen to all of my woes.” Honestly, she half worried that if she kept up this rambling talking he would decide to kill her, and so she took another step backwards. “I’ll let you get back to all of your nefarious plans and all that jazz and leave you to it. Um. Again, I’m sorry for punching you…but…maybe next time I can punch you for real and I’ll be stronger with it, yeah?”
Her face broke into a smile then and she looked excited about the idea of getting stronger. Of her punches doing something.
With one last nod to him, she broke into a run, laughing as she got a little bit away, feeling suddenly better about it all. This…would be okay. And she hadn’t been afraid for her life this time so perhaps she was getting stronger after all.
