It wasn't often that Ika spent time with her Aunt Padma's family now that she'd started her Aishan training in earnest. Her calling was in Chibale, where her mentor resided, but the woman encouraged her to take 'breaks' to keep her mental state clear.
What she didn't know was that her 'breaks' often included as much training, if not more, than what she did in Chibale. It was just a little different.
"Come on Uzu, you ready for this?" Today wasn't a fight with blades or magic; just straight fists. She knew that out of everyone in her life the person who needed the least amount of encouragement to fight for fighting's sake was Padma's spouse. "Last one to lose consciousness wins."

While Uzumati didn't exactly mesh well with one part of Padma's family there was the other half that he definitely enjoyed seeing. Ika was one of his favorites since the two of them could easily get into a brawl without the other crying over some bruises, even if it did sometimes earn them reprimands from those that had to pick up after their fights. They just couldn't go into the local tavern together at the same time...ever again, that was all.
Today though when he stalked out towards Ika it was in a forest clearing with nothing that they could potentially break except for each other. Uzumati never had deadly intents towards his niece though, it was all in good fun and training since the two needed a good brawl to stay in shape. At her question the man nodded and slammed a fist into an open palm in acceptance. There was no need for words here, just actions. Once he took his stance Uzumati nodded towards Ika to encourage her to make the first move in today's match.

Sabra Knight First to 20 wins? Just let the numbers add up? XD
Ika rolled her shoulders, popping her neck in the process and once she was properly limbered up she charged. The time she'd spent away in Chibale showed almost immediately with her half-hearted punch. While her experience with a blade had nearly doubled everything else seemed to slack.

Ika's half-hearted punch was matched by Uzumati's shoulder. He had been expecting momentum from his niece and so the man's counter had less power than it should as a result. Still though it was a nice warm up move from both of them he figured as he shoved her back a step before taking a step away himself to prepare for the next attack.

At least she wasn't the only one adjusting to the fight. She took his strike in stride , rolling with it for just a bit before using the distance between them to her advantage. The Alk hybrid swung her leg up and used her momentum to deliver a hearty roundhouse kick straight to Uzumati's ribs. With any luck it would hit and catch him off guard.
Out here she didn't have to worry about anyone call them out for fighting dirty or going past their limits. If Ika broke his nose then it was broken, simple as that, and if he dislocated her shoulder she could just pop it back in.

Ooof. Uzumati most definitely was off his game today. After the first strike the earthling had not been expecting such a strong kick from Ika which was his mistake. A wince crossed his features as her attack connected with his ribs, his body screaming at him as the familiar ache of a bruise started from the contact. If he was fortunate it would simply be a bruise and nothing major. It was still a good hit and nothing like the quiet counter he made in return with a jab towards Ika's stomach.

[5 pts] What was up with him today? She knew they'd needed a little time to get rolling, but usually he was sharper than this. Had fatherhood taken his fangs? She took the jab, if only to bring him close so she could raise her hand and give his head a good smack. "Come on, wild man, where's your head today?" Maybe if she kept poking him he'd get mad and start swinging.

Uzumati snarled at the jab, a natural reaction for the man who had lived as a predator for years instead of as a normal earthling. He most definitely was off today and he was feeling it even as he swung towards Ika's leg with a foot, his kick coming off a lot softer than normal. Even if something was up with Uzumati he was not about to admit it! What if he was feeling a bit funky in the moment? He could bounce back! So he just continued on with his attacks, his expression fierce even if there was a little less determination behind his attacks.

[7 pts] "Your kicks have less power to them than your kids." This was just frustrating. She'd come out here looking for an equal fight, and he was barely putting in the effort! Was he just trying to get her riled up instead? He didn't have it in him to tease her which is what made the whole situation so confusing. This time she came at him with a hard upper cut to the gut. She wanted to bleed dammit; not explain to her Aunt why her husband looked like a berry painting!

At least Uzumati was sturdy. Even though he glared towards Ika for her insult there still wasn't much energy behind his punches. He countered well, taking the last blow from his niece in stride as he returned her attack with one of his own, but the strikes were not nearly as hard as they could be. Uzumati simply shrugged slightly at Ika before darting backwards, his gaze narrowing as he braced for her next attack. It felt like he was moving through water at some points and Uzumati was conserving his energy to put up a good attack when it counted...at least that was his hope. Even he wasn't certain in the moment since he felt so sluggish.

[8 pts] Goddess, this was starting to get to her. Even her own attacks were losing their steam and she was starting to second guess the fight. Maybe it would be better just to come back tomorrow? You're supposed to be going back to Chibale tomorrow. Still, wouldn't it be better to postpone a return trip for some kind of satisfaction? When he stepped back she didn't even follow him. Instead, Ika stood stock still and slapped her chest. "Right here. Hit me right here and make it a good one!"

She wanted him to just punch her? If it was anyone other than Ika then Uzumati may have been more concerned. Since it was Ika though the man understood her growing frustrations. She had come here looking for a good brawl, a way to train but instead he was just giving her half-hearted attacks. Uzumati took a deep breath before nodding. Even if he wasn't at his best today he could at least try a bit harder, right?
And so per his niece's request he uppercut her right in the abdomen towards her upper chest, the momentum giving him some speed though there was less strength since it was basically a free shot. Still it was stronger than the weaker attempts he had been giving so far this fight.

[10 pts] Finally! It wasn't the hardest he'd ever hit her, but at least it was a start! The impact was enough to make Ika grunt and for her breathing to catch. With him this close, though, she felt it was only right to make use of it and slam her forehead down against his own for a solid headbutt. The impact was enough to make her a little dizzy and coupled with the hit to her abdomen she needed a moment to catch her breath.

Uzumati grunted at the impact. It shouldn't have surprised him that Ika would headbutt him like that (it most certainly was not the first time) but he had not been expecting it in the moment. "Oof." He managed though there was a grin on his lips as he slammed a fist into her side in retaliation, his vision still spinning from the surprise attack from his niece. At least it felt like some of his strength was returning even though the new headache was probably not the best for his current condition.

[13 pts] While he might have been getting his gumption back, Ika was still primed and ready. Her side would definitely bruise from the impact of his fist, though it wasn't a pain she was unfamiliar with. A few days of icing and she'd be right as rain, even if it hurt to travel. So, naturally, she returned the punch in kind with one of her own.
