Gabby had Meadow out for a ride, and it was such a beautiful day. Honestly, she was a little sad that Aria and Portabella weren’t with her, but that was okay…she was…perfectly fine with being alone. She was. It was nice to just be enjoying the sweet summer air along with her horse trotting along…the wind felt fantastic blowing through her short little braids, and she just felt…
Peaceful.
Of course…when she saw the auburn haired girl a few yards ahead of her, that peaceful feeling utterly vanished and Gabby urged Meadow a little bit faster, pulling up beside the stranger who would become her friend…or else.
“Hey! I haven’t seen you out on this trail before. I’m Gabby, and this is Meadow! Do you mind terribly if we intrude?”
She was going to stick around no matter what, so the answer didn’t really matter but…being polite was always best…at least to start out with…
Though if this girl turned out to be a b***h well.
Meadow could just speed up.

It had been a while, since Jolene had time to take Dolly out for a ride. There was so much work to be done, between university and magical girl work, going on long rides felt like a luxury. But she had the chance, now, to do so, and it felt good, to be winding down a trail. Her, the woods, and her horse.
There was the sound of hooves behind her, and she turned, and flashed the approaching girl a smile as she drew up next to her.
"Hi! I'm Jolene, and this is Dolly." A brief pause, because she assumed the joke would hit at some point. "I don't mind at all. Do you ride here often?"
Getting to chat with another equestrian would surely be a delight.

Gabby felt herself relax when the other girl was indeed friendly, and she laughed, the names both making her shake her head. “Tell me, did you name Dolly, or was she a gift from parents who…really had some hardcore fan tendencies?”
Hopefully, the girl was up for a little teasing, she seemed like she had been expecting it…and really…if you were going to name your horse like that...well.
“I do ride here pretty often, Meadow is stabled back at the Horseshoe and we ride these trails all the time. I have another friend who I ride with sometimes, or…well. Really we were kind of sharing Meadow but I just got her her own horse so, I’m hoping we become riding buddies. Like, I really don’t mind just riding alone, and Meds is more than enough company, but…I’m a social butterfly and talking to myself can only do so much, you know?”

Jolene laughed. "Honestly? I named her myself. I like the song, and I like Dolly Parton, and I do think it's funny," she confessed. And, truth be told, it was. People were always a little surprised by it; she supposed she didn't give off the air of someone who was able to find that kind of thing funny.
Ah well.
Jolene nodded. "I haven't been able to get out much, myself, lately--classes are starting up soon and it's been just mad, making sure I'm ready to go back. and I had a lot to do over the summer. But it's always a pleasure to just get out and ride, and more of one to ride with someone you can talk to." She paused. "Maybe we could plan an outing, you and I and your friend?"

“Ah, I love when a girl has a sense of humor! It is a good song though, I might be a little miffed that you’ve gotten it stuck in my head but, that’s the punishment I get for teasing, I suppose. And for talking to strangers.” Gabby stuck her tongue out and gave a sympathetic nod at the mention of classes. “Are you…in college or still in High School? I graduated from Crystal Academy a few years ago, but honestly…I haven’t bothered applying to DCU yet. I’ll get around to it one of these days…I’m just.”
She looked thoughtful and gave a shrugged. “Guess I’m just in the living life with mommy and daddy’s money to the fullest phase, but I love the idea of an outing with the three of us! I bet Aria would be happy to meet another horse friend!”
Shooting Jolene a grin, Gabby laughed. “I mean you too, not just Dolly.”

"I'd apologize," Jolene said, airily, "but I'm really not very sorry." She couldn't help but feel amused by the whole thing, really; and anyway, the song got stuck in her head often enough because someone sang it at her, might as well share that around.
"But yeah, I started at DCU last year," she said. "I would have been so bored idling at home, so I started in marketing." She paused, briefly. "....Fashion marketing specifically. It's really interesting, and there's so much to learn that you wouldn't think about, especially with how social media changes the entire landscape..."
She coughed, and stopped talking. "Sorry, I get a little excited. Anyway, if you're having fun taking a couple of gap years, why not? There's so many other things to do in the world. Have you done any traveling, or anything like that?"
Honestly, the thought of going around the world sounded incredibly pleasant, and sometimes, Jolene wondered if it would be a nice idea to just....do that. Convince Ciel to take a couple months, maybe over the summer, and travel Europe, and forget about Destiny City and magical nonsense for a while.
Ciel would never go for it, of course. But it sounded nice, when she thought about it.
"And Dolly and I would both love to meet your friend," she said, brightly. At least today, she'd managed to meet someone new, and there was now the promise of yet another person. Always a good time.

“Oh my god yeah. My parents bought themselves an island about a year ago…maybe a year ago, I don’t even know anymore. But a whole a** island. I was there for a few months helping them get things situated, but right now they’re over in their house in France and I just. I just can’t with them sometimes. Like, I know I come from money, but there’s things that they do that just…embarrasses me, you know?”
The idea of going back to school though…maybe she’d look into it. It couldn’t be so bad…and if she’d have classmates like Jolene…it would be worth it.
“I’ll think about it. School, I mean. I might apply, just because now you’ve put the idea in my head. But…for now…”
Gabby grinned, looking mischievous. “Let’s race, catch me if you can, Jojo!” And without another word, she urged Meadow into a gallop, laughing.
