She had managed to make it to Matori in one piece with the help of her brother but now she was left to her own devices when he was at work. She didn't want to burden his mother so she went to the shallows to sit and play some music. Of course she needed to also work on her singing, so after a few chords on her instrument, she started to sing. It started out soft and shy, her voice a little unsteady since she wasn't quite sure which words she wanted, but eventually she got a bit louder as more confidence came. Eihari was working on a new song to add to her collection since she intended to be a full fledged minstrel.

He was on his way to the market for his Mom, a storm had taken out their little garden that she and he tended and they were lacking vegetables. He had a basket but a noise drifting through the Matorian air reached his extra long ears and he paused. It had started out quiet but gained volume and quality as it went on. It was lovely the content relatable and he was now curious. He drifted after the song, basket forgotten as he adjusted his trajectory.

She paused to write something down. Her fingers poised over the strings of her instrument. The silence lasted for only a second before she went back to playing again. The beginning so her unnoticed listener would get to hear it all over again. She had her gaze trained on her fingers as she went so she knew exactly what note she was doing. When she wasn't singing her tongue was caught between her teeth and stuck out.

He paused as the same passage was repeated. Someone learning or creating perhaps? He crept closer following the music, to where he paused in a place where the composer could see him and he could see her. And what a her it was, she looked like a water and alkidike hybrid and she was one of the most lovely people he had ever seen.
He waited for a pause in the music and waved shyly. "Sorry, I came to investigate the music, it is beautiful, you have a great voice."

When she heard the person she looked up instantly. Granted they'd moved to a spot she could see them but when she was composing she became so focused nothing else was noticeable. She waved back at them though. "Its okay and thank you." Eihari noticed that he seemed to look like he was mostly Ice but she caught sight of the water spots on his skin. "I'm Eihari. Who are you?"

"I'm Ultear, I live not far from here, just out on the road heading to the market for some produce." Before he had been distracted that was. "Eihari is a very pretty name." For a very pretty lady. Matori seemed to have a lot of pretty people. Though he supposed his Mom counted as a Zenan. She was gorgeous and Dad made women sigh in a good way just with his face.
He fidgeted a little. "Do you need anything at the market?" He wanted to spend some time with her but lacked a non awkward angle to ask.

"Ultear, that's unique." She certainly hadn't heard it before. When he said her name was pretty she smiled at him and preened a little. "Thank you. I think it fits a minstrel very well." And she needed to have a name that would be both pretty and stick out so when she was famous people would know.
When he asked her if she needed anything from the market she shook her head slightly. "Not really. I'm staying with my brother and his mother and she takes care of the shopping and meals." Which was a good thing since Eihari didn't miss a meal.

Welp he had tried. "No problem, I'm glad you have a place to stay...I assume his Mother isn't your mother from the way you said it?" He didnt want to pry but he didn't want to start walking up the trail either..yet. Maybe he could make a new friend? A new friend with a lovely singing voice.
"I don't think you will have trouble catching people's attention, your songs are well thought out and meld well with the music."

She shook her head at the question. "Oh no, not my mother. He and I share a dad though." A smile was still in place. Her brother's mother was a very nice lady, she took care of Eihari even though she didn't have to. "She's a wonderful lady. Her house is on the other side of town. I just like this area for music. It sounds better." A soft giggle escaped her.
"Thank you!" Her instrument was semi-forgotten as she brought her hands together in front of her. "Do you want to hear some more?" She leaned forward eagerly.

"I'm glad to hear it, I live with my parents and my brother nearby, if you ever get bored you should stop by, I bet they would all like to hear your work."
He set his basket down. "Yes I would like to hear more."
He made himself comfortable then smiled at her politely. Mom's veggies could wait, yes they could.

She was thrilled when he said he wanted to listen to more. So she sat back up and wiggled in her seat, getting comfortable. She then strummed the strings of her instrument and began to sing again. This time it was a different song. A more well known one that she hadn't written but still a good one. Since she knew it well enough she didn't need to look at her fingers and instead kept her gaze on Ultear. Since he was her audience she wanted him to feel special.

His fingers tapped along on his knee. Fancy that his own private concert. Standing he shuffled around in a classic Zenan war dance that went with the beat that his Mother had taught him. It was exhilarating and he couldn't help but move with the catchy tune. Usually he didn't dance in front of others but well she was willing to serenade him, he was willing to display his skills for her. It was a hobby and a good one and it kept his family in shape.

When he started to dance she grinned at him. She was thrilled that he seemed to be enjoying it. Since it was fun for both of them she played the whole song through rather than shorten it. But once she was done she giggled and brought her hands up to clap for him. "I do believe you stole the show. Very nice dancing."
She shifted so that her instrument was set to the side so she could get up from where she sat. After sitting for so long she needed to stretch so she brought both hands out in front of her and leaned forward then to each side. When she was done with that she bounced a bit on her feet. "I think I need to walk a bit. I've been sitting down too long."

"No no, you just inspired me, without great music, there is no dancing. Besides that is just something my mother taught me, it helps keep warriors fit for battle in Zena." Or in his father's case Beast Charmers out of teeth's reach. It had saved his Dad more than once as his Mom made him dance with her every week.
He watched her then looked away. "Its good for tight muscles too." When he sat for too long his back tightened up.

"Warriors huh? That what you are?" She eyed him a bit. He wasn't wearing a shirt but that didn't mean much. Most men in Matori didn't. It got quite hot.
When he mentioned tight muscles she paused for a second. "Really?" Maybe she should learn it? It would be good for her back at least. "I don't think it'll do much for a sore butt though."
