Periclase was pleased that Lopezite had agreed to let her practice her magic on him, and that they didn’t actually have to go anywhere, as his office had enough space for a small spar, provided nobody was moving much. It was the perfect place to practice magic, especially when it wasn’t something that did anything…outwardly destructive.
“So, it’s going to make you feel like you’ve been poisoned with hemlock, and kind of like something’s bit you. I’m not sure why it feels like that but, I’m not unhappy with it, whatever I can inflict on others just means that I get a better reputation out of it.”
Even though she knew that she had wanted this practice so that she could aim her magic better…she was quite sure that Lopezite would allow one of the bunches to reach him no matter if her aim was true or not…he seemed the type. Kind and encouraging…so if she was wrong…well. She’d eat her skirt.
“All right. I’m ready if you’re ready, General. Here we go.” She raised a hand to her lips and blew. “Hemlocks Bite!.”Kyuseisha no Hikari Hemlock’s Bite Periclase puts a hand to her lips and blows a kiss, which takes the shape of four bunches of hemlock flowers, if hit with one of the bunches of flowers, an opponent will experience mild effects of hemlock poisoning, including dizziness and trembling, as well as a painful sensation as though something bit them. The effects last for forty seconds and the attack can be used twice, hitting up to a total of eight opponents. If the bunches do not find a target within fifteen seconds, they dissipate and the attack is wasted. At most the bunches can travel fifteen feet away from Periclase.

As a precaution, Lopezite had moved the furniture a bit out of the way, just to give them a bit more room. It wasn’t much–certainly not enough for him to be swinging around his sword, but for the sake of this spar he wasn’t really too worried. It wasn’t like Senshi or Knights were going to be carrying around a weapon like his.
Besides, the point was to practice her magic, so even if it wasn’t a true simulation of a real battle, he was happy to be of assistance.
When she casted her magic, he moved only slightly–not enough to completely disrupt her attack, but enough to make her focus while she was casting it. He couldn’t think of any enemies that would just stand there and wait to be hit. And yet, she still managed a relatively solid hit, and he was grateful that she’d given him some warning for what her magic could actually do because when it started to take effect he felt a sharp pain where he’d been hit–and he was glad he’d only managed to touch one of the bunches.
A cold swept over him, and if he hadn’t known the layout of his office he might have felt dizzier. It made it harder to move, but he was resilient.
“How’s your hand to hand combat?” he asked, and took a quick step towards her as if he meant to test it. He felt sick and the world was spinning, and the fatigue and tremors were rapidly altering his ability to function but he was going to do his best to test her–for as long as the duration of her magic was affecting him.

“I’m…really not one for hand to hand, if we’re being honest. I’m lucky that my magic is offensive so I haven’t had to really defend myself hand to hand…but. I’m okay with kicking, and the shoes help a lot with that. Heels hurt like a b***h when you get kicked by them…it…”
Periclase scratched her cheek and shrugged, a little concern on her face as he moved towards her, and she took an automatic step back. “It kind of helps that my fuku is…alluring too. Ah, I think that helps me not to get…attacked physically…why? Are you planning on trying to assault me, General?”
Obviously he wasn’t, but he was staggering slightly, and though she knew this was practice, this wasn’t what she had signed up for, and with a soft huff, she teleported behind him, crossing her arms over her chest.
“I’m good with my words too. And good with my wit. I’m good at staying out of range of wandering hands, so that’s not something that you should really have to worry about. Pretty girls are pretty much raised to stay out of range of wandering hands, and General, I know that I’m pretty.”
Still, as though to prove a point she kicked him hard, right in the a**.

Lopezite scoffed, not at her words but because she had the audacity to kick him in such an unsophisticated matter. He turned quickly, and grabbed her wrist, just to make a point.
“Well, don’t let your guard down.”
The room was spinning twice as much now that he’d spun, too. He didn't even trust himself to teleport, and her magic was only just now slightly easing. “Teleporting and kicking is a good mix.”
Not on his a**, but this was training, he’d supposed, and she did prove that she had a plan, at least. “Being pretty and witty will get you pretty far, but there are those that don’t care for such things. I just want you to be safe. Your magic is potent, though. I might throw up.”
…Actually, he was pretty sure he was going to.
“We might have to postpone this for a moment. But you did a good job, we’ll have to see what happens if someone gets hit by all four of those at once. It sounds horrible, but. If you don’t know already, we should find out.”

Periclase hadn’t meant to let out a squeak of surprise, but one came regardless when Lopezite grabbed her arm, and for a moment, it was all she could do not to smack him across the face.
…Honestly, if he hadn’t looked so pale and sick, she would have just out of instinct but. But this was her new general and she sighed and put a hand under his arm, drawing him towards the couch. “It would be a fun experiment, but I don’t know if it would do anything to magnify the effects. Maybe someday I can try it on you and we can see what happens, yeah?”
Her words were teasing, but there was an edge of worry in her voice. “Maybe not today though. Definitely not today. I’m going to go ahead and leave you now, if you’re really feeling bad, I’d take a nap if I were you, but it should wear off soon. I promise. But.”
Periclase drew away and gave a smile. “I’m glad that I got to meet you, and I’m excited to work under you. I’m sure I’ll make you proud, General.” And with a small curtsy, Periclase teleported away once again, this time taking herself close to home.
