Qila 1
With permission from her mother she'd set out to make it to a port city that had the cheapest fares. Qila had limited funds so she needed to be smart with them. At least until she made it to another settlement and was able to make more with small jobs. Of course that meant she had to do a lot of walking to get to the place she wanted. Unfortunately for her a storm had rolled in. With visibility being low and the rain pelting her in the face she had no choice but to find shelter. Thankfully there was a cave that served as ready-made shelter so she didn't have to get soaked any longer.
She ducked into it quickly and sighed deeply, letting her pack slip off her shoulders to the ground. "Oh no Qila, it can't be that bad. Silly. Storms are never good to be out in." She scolded herself as she put her hands on her hips and stared down at her pack debating on whether or not she wanted to dig through it now or later.

Kalani had made a habit of checking through the caves for any sort of resources that he could scrounge up. Today would be a good day with the rains coming in. Sometimes things blew in that he could use to craft something with and why not head somewhat near the surface. Of course even with clouds overhead and even though it was darker, it didn't make up for the fact that the light was still very unpleasant and blinding.
Someone was talking a ways ahead as Kalani moved through the system. His dark dwelling eyes picking up on little things that any surface dwellers would miss, like the bit of light from the glowing moss or even the glowing creatures. So as not to sneak up on the other who was with the cave he gave a low whistle and then, "Hello!"

She was opening her pack when she heard the low whistle. It stopped her in her tracks as she didn't recall an animal that could make that sound. Of course there was a word spoken right after and it made her relax only slightly knowing she wasn't facing a beast. Then again, people could be just as dangerous. So she turned her eyes toward the presumed sound of the voice since she knew sound echoed in caves. "Who is there?" She had to admit she was curious as to who she had joined in the cave and whether or not she'd need to fight for a place in it or if they were welcoming.

The rains had a distinct smell that Kalani recalled as the light faded more and more outside until a lightning strike caused the save to light up briefly, shielding his eyes in the process for a moment before the darkness began to settle again. A loud and swift boom came right after that made it feel like the world was shaking. These things would have frightened him more as a child but he was curious about the above world and would come sometimes to just peek his head as much as he could to the world above. He crept forward a bit more, still shielding his eyes just a bit as more flashes happened but further away.
"I'm Kalani." The voice was soft but friendly and inviting. He really hadn't been around anyone from the surface and well it was pretty amazing to have even someone from the surface in a cave he was currently searching for. The low light of his body giving way to his small shape. "Avoiding the storm?" He asked, raising his voice as the rain began to come down harder, causing the cave entrance to sound overly loud.

The bright streak of light and loud thunder at her back caused her to stiffen a bit as she stood there but she was proud of the fact that she'd managed to contain her jump. When she noticed the person and heard the name they gave she had to consider they may just be friendly. "Right.. I'm Qila." Giving her name would do no harm. If someone really wanted to find her then it would be easy enough by her markings. They were unique to her.
"Uh, yeah. Its a bit wet out there." A hand came up to rub at the back of her head, pushing her dreads around slightly. "I didn't want to catch a cold after."

Kalani 3
Water didn't really bother Kalani that much, but having to shield his eyes each time the flash of light tore through the growing darkness was annoying. Qila was this one's name huh, a surface dweller. He really knew nothing about them and despite the rest of his reclusive tribe, he was one who was fascinated with the surface. Sometimes sneaking up when it was darker to just look out before going back into the caves where it was much safer. The rains however, were always something he loved, especially at night.
"Sorry I uh... I've never talked to anyone from the surface before." He was sheepish and wrung his hands together before tapping on his horn, "Its nice out there though, well the sound of the rain not so much the wet part." Not that he minded the water either.

She blinked a bit as she took in the appearance of Kalani. The fact that they had colorful scales was beautiful. Of course when she was told that they had never spoken to someone from the surface before she offered a shy smile. "Sorry, I'm probably not the best one to talk to if you have questions then. This is my first time leaving my home village." So if they had questions about the world then she was no help at all.
At the mention of it being nice out she turned to look at the rain with some confusion. As it was clarified to be the sound she looked back at Kalani just as more lightning and thunder happened. "Uh.. maybe if it wasn't so loud.."

He could see her smile clearly and he smiled back not realizing that she might not be able to see that herself. It seemed they had their own bonding moment there which made him happy beyond belief. Such a strange occurence to happen and well, this was pretty awesome. Pulling the moss clothing a bit tighter around his body he moved a little closer to her, approaching her slowly to not freak her out. "Is it awesome to have ventured out on your own?" He asked. Kalani wanted to venture out of his own but it seemed far to daunting of a task right now. One day maybe. Another loud crack and this time, it was a bit too much for his ears too so he covered them for a moment. "How about we move further into the caves, it does get a bit quieter and I could help you navigate. There's a spot a down a bit that's really pretty and its much quieter."
There was a spot a bit deeper in that he liked to spend time at gathering moss, mushrooms, and rocks, where the glowing masses were so bright and beautiful. The glowing hanging moss in there was a sight to see but it was very dark, at least for others, to get there. He didn't really have as many friends as he would like to take to the spot and it was very lightly treaded so it was kind of his spot to hang out. Maybe sharing it with a potential friend would be nice.

"Well, its certainly interesting. No one cooks for me anymore." She chuckled a bit at the mention of that. Qila knew that going out on her own meant that she would lose the comforts of home but she had thought she was prepared for that. She may have forgotten about the cooking bit. She wasn't horrible at cooking though, so she hadn't starved at least. When the thunder made Kalani cover their ears it made Qila jump and she held her breath for a second before she let it out.
"Getting away from the sound might be nice." Mostly because inside the cave it echoed a little. It made her feel like the rumbling was right beside her rather than in the sky. "I don't have a torch though, so how are we going to see?" She wasn't used to the idea that people could just live in dark caves.
