Katsurou smirks seeing Katja in another group. He jogs over and gently taps her shoulder. "Tag... If you don't mind me as an opponent." He stretches a bit to show her that the gun shoot wound had closed up nicely, "... and I owe you one, since I cost you some of your training." The young Gekkou would waves her along to follow him as he moved out of the gathering room and into an arena.
As his friend, and opponent, was entering he was strapping his left arm into the black, metal gauntlet that was Tsume. He flexes his now gauntleted hand as a grin crossed his face, "Just... do not hold back Katja." It was a simple request and one that he planned on taking seriously as well. His right hand grabbing the extended hilt of the long katana on his back as the young swordsman takes up his swordsman stance. A pair of white, flowing wings unfurling from his back giving the young male an appearance of the Gekkou clan's fable white heron.
Katja was nervous about this portion of the examination, of course, but as the written portion concluded, and the combat portion began, she felt a little more confident. Combat was something she knew. Well. She had trained to fight people in controlled settings for her entire life.
She was pleasantly surprised when she recognized the shinobi that challenged her, the sickly-looking one she had met in Hidden Katana. Katsurou.
She did not take pains to hide the smile that came to her face, as she nodded.
”Very well, Katsu. This should be fun!”
She had not had a friendly sparring partner in quite some time, often spending much of her time training alone. She was excited to have a target that could react and defend against her attacks.
As they made their way to the sparring arena, Katsu drew his sword without hesitation, a pair of winds unfurling from his back. The White Heron was an ancient style of the Gekkou Clan, she knew. This would be a rare opportunity to see it in action, and train against it.
While her opponent drew a blade, she simply balled her fists, feet sliding in the dust until Katja was in a well-practiced Wing Chun stance, perfect in form and execution, honed over countless repetitions since she was a little girl. The same stance her own father had taught her.
”Are you ready…?” She asked, around 15 feet from her opponent, giving him an opportunity to prepare himself.
”You don’t hold back either, Katsurou. Few get the honor to see the White Heron in action. I’ll not be cheated of the opportunity”
With that, combat began, as Katja closed the distance between herself and her opponent in a few short strides, letting loose with her first volley of punches, quick jabs to test her opponent’s defenses.

It was the first time anyone has given him a nickname, so a soft pink tint crossed his cheeks as the lovely Hyuuga refers to him as 'Katsu'. 'This is a new one on me...' He would think as she smiled seeing him. He gently shakes his head and refocuses his mind on the match at hand, watching as Katja slips into a stance that he did not really know anything about. This was unlike her that pinned his white heron sword style. "Brushed up, have you? Let us see if you will not be disappointed in my mastery of it." After all the basic of his style was of the Gekkou's white heron, but there was deviations to it for his own way of fighting. Hell even the wings that unfurled from his back was not of the white heron style but his own deviation off it; Shirasagi no Jou.
It was then that Katja asked if he was ready to start their match. A soft nod, "Of course, Kat." He replied while testing the grounds for a possible future nickname for her as well. Katsurou though was caught off guard as his Hyuuga friend moved in and landed a flurry of blows, the last of which causing him to slide back while fighting for breath from the punches and jabs. "Those where good blows.. It is my turn now." A smirked crossed his face as the young Gekkou kicked back from the ground giving the wings a flap to draw himself from the range of his friend's fists and feet. His sword ready as he prepares to strike. "First Dance... Dance of the Crescent Moon..." Katsurou swooped in with the blade ready, as several clones appeared around him, each looked, and moved, much the same as they all moved around, obscuring the view of the male as he finally struck, though using the reverse side of the blade to not deal fatal damage to his new Hyuuga friend.

Katja had told her new friend not to hold back, and he certainly hadn’t. She activated her Byakugan as he began to move, more out of a wish to see what his chakra did than the pipedream-home that she could somehow mount a proper defense. She had wanted to see the White Heron in action, and with his first move he had nearly knocked her out.
The now-flying shinobi crashed into Katja faster than she could retreat, her feet sliding in the dirt as she took the brunt of the force, the sheer weight of it driving her down to on knee. She flexed her legs and managed to push off of the ground, freeing herself from the weight of the blade and wordlessly thanking Katsu for not using the sharpened edge of his blade.
As she sailed through the air, she began a graceful backflip, aiming to kick her opponent from above, driving him to the ground. She was not trained in fighting opponents with swords, much less wings.

With every passing moment the excitement in the room filled, as each blow from either combatant could be felt by the ones watching the matching... if any outside the proctor were to watch. Katsurou impressed as his Hyuuga friend activated those special eyes of hers, before flipping into the air. It was an impressive feat of grace and power... and that strength came down on him, right between his shoulders. This kick sent him careening into ground and bouncing from the force of the kick. The wind knocked from his lungs as those large wings flap but a few times to steady himself. His 'Sagi no Tsubasa' didn't work on the ground though, so Katsurou leaps back and one more takes into the sky. Moreover, Katsurou only remaining but a few feet from the ground so within perfect striking range of his brawler friend. His eyes clouding over, though making sure to get a good look at Katja's face before his glimmering orbs turn milky.
"I was hoping to show you all the dances, Katja, but I guess I will show you two for now..." He stance drops back into that typical white heron, before a series of clones appear in a line. The real Katsurou hidden within the line somewhere, though it would be easier to spot him with those Hyuuga eyes, though it did not change the fact that the full line of the Gekkou rushed in and slashed at the young martial artist. Once more his strike still aimed with the broad side of his custom sword.

Katja immediately prepared for Katsu’s counterattack, but no matter of training could have prepared her for the sheer speed of this next attack, even without the injuries she had sustained from the first. The blunt edge of the blade slammed into Katja, sending her off her feed and into the sand, sliding a few feet before coming to a rest. She laid there, disappointed in herself for a few moments before standing shakily.
”Nice shot, Katsu… I concede. Come find me after the exams. I have to get patched up and make another challenge.”
