After she'd done her job and made sure that Terrwyn and her babies were delivered she had stayed around in Matori in the off chance that someone had followed. While she knew it wasn't covered in the fee she wanted to be absolutely sure that those babies were safe. The shifter was good at covering her tracks though so she was confident there would be no one.
Sarnai walked down the beach trail with her hood up, mostly to keep the sun from her eyes. She'd discovered that the ocean was enjoyable. At least the breeze coming off of it was.
She moved around a few people as they walked toward her but continued on. She wasn't fooled into thinking she didn't stand out. So she made sure not to cause any trouble while she was around. Someone that caused chaos would be more memorable than someone that just slipped past.

Iexa was out beachcombing, looking for shells and stuff that he could sell or put onto harnesses to sell. It was a fun little hobby that was a good break from beast taming. One of these days he might venture back to Oba but at this time of the year Matori was the place to be. Besides he had friends here. They knew most of the families along this stretch of coast, it wasn't too far from where his parent's other home was. He loved to come to the beach in mornings and evenings and have a trawl about, you never knew what would come up and be left with the tide. Treasures all.

She was content to keep on going but when she looked to the side she noticed something. Or rather someone. Sarnai recalled seeing that particular person in Juahar and to see them again in Matori had her concerned. The shifter did what she could to remember what had been said the last time she'd seen them. While she thought Matori had been mentioned she couldn't risk the possibility that they had followed her. So she veered off from the trail she'd been following and made a bee line for the odd boy. One hand went for the dagger she kept hidden just in case she needed it. The other hand reached out to snag some of his long hair and give a tug.

Again! Again with the hair! He suspected he knew who it was, but he didn't dare to hope. Of course if it was her she would probably have a blade at his throat in about 30 seconds since the trees were further up the beach. "What is with the hair, I was innocently beach combing!" He resisted the urge to flail.

A slight smirk crossed her features as she looked at him flail a little. "Did you follow me here, Fluffball?" The shifter had to be sure that he didn't. If this guy could find her then she'd obviously done a poor job at hiding her tracks. Being paranoid as she was she had to glance around to see if anyone else was watching them. Sarnai held off on taking her dagger out for now but she still had her hand on it if she needed it.

"I live here woman! I told you that!" He wasn't that far from their Matori home base, they had another in Oba of course. "Would I follow you? Maybe but not at all for the reason you think." He glared over his shoulder as far as he could.

She did recall him stating that before but she had to check. Sarnai wouldn't be doing her job if she didn't. However, being called woman in such a manner caused her to raise her brows at him. Her dagger came out as she took a step closer to him. She pressed the blade up against his side, getting closer to his ear as he turned to glare at her. "Don't get that tone with me. Didn't you learn last time that I can overpower you?" The shifter applied light pressure with her dagger but not enough to break the skin. "And why would you follow me?" Now that part she was curious about.

"I would follow you because I find you interesting and charismatic, a strong beautiful woman who doesn't take crap from anyone... I find that most admirable." There, he had said it, she could take it how she wanted it or she could use that dagger that was tickling his side. "It's your personality, your carriage, your shear force of life."

After hearing what he said she rolled her eyes and pulled back on his hair so that he'd be forced to lean his head back. When she had it to where he could see her she simply raised a brow at him. "You realize you don't even know my name yet, right?" And to think the guy had a crush already. She shook her head and released him, her hand left his hair altogether and she put her dagger away, then looked around to be sure no one had stopped to stare at them. What she'd done had been the opposite of what she'd originally been out to do, which was blend in.

"I didn't need to know your name to read your soul." He wondered which parent he got his observation skills or if it was just his share of the twin magic, he got the crazy bit and the observant bit. Lynx got the stoic and steady bit. "I warn you, I have a twin, but his mane is not nearly so luxurious so make sure its me, I don't want either of you to get hurt." That would be tragic. Lynx and the shifter girl would be well matched. "My name is a horrible mouthful, Iexa for short. You can tell me yours when you want to..if you ever do." He stared off at the sea. Sometimes he wondered if he should have been a pirate instead of a beast charmer but there was no rule that he couldn't be both?

Her attention was brought back to him when he mentioned her soul. Sarnai had doubts about that. She was trained to con people so no one really knew her. Of course when he mentioned having a twin she let out a groan. "There are two of you? Which God cursed the world then?" A smirk was barely visible after that. "Horrible mouthful. Huh, your mother must have hated you. Is your twin named Tounge twister, Iexa?" The shifter had to pick on him a little bit. This guy had met her outside of her tarot card reading facade so she didn't have to watch her words too much. It gave her more breathing room. "My name is Sarnai."

"An identical twin, in fact. And I would say mom cursed the world, dad is too nice. Mom likes to unleash her children to cause havoc and mostly do good...mostly." "No but his name is just as bad. If you ask me the two that came after us got better name deals as they used mostly her name as opposed to Dad's." "Sarnai." It rolled off his tongue like rainwater. "Lovely." It suited her, beautiful but sharp like her daggers. "My sister took after Mom the most, but none of us got Dad's calm."

Identical? The world really was in for it if there were two fluffballs out there. Sarnai felt bad for whoever the other twin was bothering. "Right, so I'll remember to curse your mother when I have to deal with the two of you." Not that she would but it was fun to tease Iexa a bit. Hearing about his younger siblings made her cringe a little. Sarnai was an only child with parents long dead. She only k ew her handler as any sort of parental figure. And it wasn't the best. "Remind me to run the other way if I see someone that even remotely resembles you." It could be his twin or one of his younger siblings. Besides, the less people that know she's in Matori the better. "I am curious as to what these names are. You make them sound bad."

"Okay but when she hexes you back don't come crying to me, I warned you." He smirked. "Iexadaroch, Lynxdaroch, Zohraduri, Zashaduri, Theanduri, Rydandaroch. And no I am not swearing or making a spell." There were very good reasons that his family went by nicknames most of the time. But he liked the theme. His grandfather had started the daroch stuff, his name was Ai'iandaroch. Sometimes Iexa wondered why he hadn't met those grandparents yet. His dad was going to be in heaps of trouble with them probably when they found out he had so many kids.

Well at least this mother sounded like she had a backbone. When he rattled off what she assumed to be names, considering the first one had the Nickname he'd wanted her to use, she let out a low whistle. "Wow. Those are a bit much." Mouthful was an understatement. "I am thankful that my parents decided Sarnai was quite enough for me." Also that Inaza kept it. He could have changed it if he felt like it. "I get now why you said to call you Iexa." A half smile lit up her face then. "Did you get picked on as a kid? And I'm assuming Lynxdaroch is your twins name?"
