While the parents were handling business in Edrao, the big merchant city in Matori, Ronan felt like it was the perfect time to lead an adventure of his own. The youngling had his group of volunteers, his sibling and fellow crew younglings that he always somehow dragged into his endeavors, and was waiting at the base of the ship so that they could slip out into the port area. Now that he was almost ten years old the youngling felt like he could take on the world and he was more than ready to check out what the port area was like. They had always been limited to the ship unless one of the crew or his parents went with them to the markets and the like, but not today! Today he would prove that he had the mettle to become a captain of his own….and mostly avoid chores and boredom from being stuck on the Misty Maiden with the others while their parents got to have all the fun in the bustling city.
It had been hard enough to slip away but thankfully the crew had been distracted by an unfortunate rope that had somehow frayed away and let some cargo loose across the deck, something that required a lot of hands to handle before anything went overboard, and Fran was tending to someone who had stepped on an unpleasant barnacle the evening before. “Are ya ready?” Ronan whispered as he crouched around some of the cargo that was on the loading docks, his pale green gaze bright as he looked around for his fellow adventurers. He had absolutely no idea what to truly do once they got into the markets but hey! It was a start of something and surely they would figure things out along the way, right? “Let’s go!” The whisper was not exactly a whisper in his excitement but thankfully the docks were busy with lots of foreigners who were darting back and forth working.

The waves were darker along the coast of Matori. Imani adored the ocean but he was honestly more biased towards the oceans around Belrea and Kahikana for the crystal clear waters there. Here though you never knew what was lurking beneath the darker waters, just like you never knew what to expect whenever you woke up with Ronan hovering above your bed. Even though Imani was nearly two years older than Ronan the boy was quieter and more prone to letting the louder youngling lead the charge (as he called it). And if Endellion went along with things then so did Imani, his presence like a protective shadow over the whole group as they ventured forward into whatever shenanigans awaited them.
As Ronan crouched around some of the cargo, Imani winced. He had somewhat been hoping that someone would catch sight of them on the upper decks but the spilled cargo had worked as a perfect diversion. Now that they were this far all he could do was commit and so he did as he tugged the youngling back towards him away from some foreign Matori sailors who were coming through in a hurry with a load of boxes. “Careful.” He whispered in that soft tone before glancing around towards the other younglings. “Everyone has everything?” He confirmed quietly as he reached down to his own belt, the satchels hanging there tightly sealed with snacks and some coin that he had saved up by doing various errands for crew members. If they were going shopping in the foreign market then he may as well find something to take back with him. There was also a small knife tucked away in his belt, a gift from his father for his last birthday, and he hoped he wouldn’t have to use it for anything other than fraying some more ropes if needed.

Mako followed right after the others with barely restrained excitement. Going to explore Matori? Sign him up! No adults to hold them back? Even better! It did feel a little strange to run off while there was work to be done..but they'd needed a distraction and it had been delivered. It was now or never! "Ready." His had slipped over to pat his satchel reassuringly. It made him feel that much more prepared for the adventure!
Once the rushing Matorians had passed, he quickly looked around and took the chance to scurry down the ramp and onto the dock. There, he dove behind another stack of crates. It didn't sound like anyone had seen him!
He peeked back around the crates for his brother and their friends and waved that the coast was clear.

Del pressed her face against a crack between crates and kept an eye out. So many of the crewman were bustling about, trying their best to make sense of the diversion, that she knew now was their only chance to go. While she didn't like being bossed around, Del did like getting up to mischief and she rarely ever said no to one of Ronan's ideas.
"I've got some coin and this-" Del held up a jar she'd taken from the kitchen with smirk. It was filled to the brim with an Oban spice she knew could make even the toughest man cry. How she'd managed to sneak away with it she wouldn't say, but now that it was in her 'collection' Del wouldn't easily part with it. With a smudge of muck across her arms - likely from crawling about where she shouldn't in the galley - Endellion easily passed as 'one of the boys' and that's how she liked it.
Giving Ronan's arm a pinch as she passed, Del whispered, "Don't blow it, Bubbles.", and snuck off past Mako. The youngling clutched her bag to her side, hoping it wouldn't make a sound, and once she was safe she motioned for the others.

"Eek!" The startled noise left his lips as Endellion pinched him, Ronan's cheeks flushing as he shot his friend a disgruntled look. "I'll do fine, Del." He hissed at the other boy before inching another couple of steps and then darting across the path as Endellion waved them forward.
Now that he was next to Del again, Ronan made another face. "What is even in that jar? That's nothin' appetizing, is it?" He groaned softly as he didn't even want to try anything that Del had brought along. Anything from Del could be dangerous and he didn't want to lose his breakfast today! His gaze narrowed thoughtfully as he peered around another set of crates. "It should be fine as long as none of our crew is around." He murmured, the final stretch before them as he took in the curving path that led away from the docks and into the lower markets. Once they got into that crowd it would be nearly impossible to keep track of them if they wanted to slip away from anyone who could recognize them!

"Hmm." Now that he had joined the others, Imani found himself making certain that he didn't recognize any of the sailors walking back and forth. Thankfully their crew was mostly full of Belreans and so they would stand out in a port mostly full of Matori and Obans with a few other earthlings splashed into the mix. Even their own attire was different from the locals, Imani tugged at his long sleeves and embroidered vest that had its hidden pockets full of other various items he liked to carry with him. His pants and shoes were also Belrean fashion even though he noticed that Ronan liked to wear the sandals and loose tunics that a lot of the Matori preferred.
Still, he couldn't help tensing as he noticed a group of their own crew crossing the lower path that they had just darted away from. "We should go now if we're going." He hissed, the youngling old gesturing for the rest to follow him as he started up the path away from the crew with surprisingly quick steps for once. Imani wouldn't stop until he was safely around the corner and next to the first series of stalls, mostly fish stalls since they were closer to the fishing area, but still they were at least in the lower markets now. Hopefully everyone made it...his worried gaze studied the streets one last time as he waited for the other younglings to catch up.
