Gabby wanted to continue her working relationship with Azurite, and so to continue that, she had sent the other Negaverse Senshi an invitation to lunch, and when she had accepted, Gabby had been terribly excited and began getting ready at once, heading over to the restaurant that she had suggested and grabbing a table. As Gabby waited, she glanced down at her shaking leg, frowning slightly.
…Was she nervous? Anxious that Laine wouldn't show up? Damn, had that Mars Squire really messed up her mind that much with his stupid magic? Gabby Lecarde didn’t get worried that people wouldn’t like her or wouldn’t show up. She knew that they would. She was confidence in the form of a blonde sunshine child.
It was simply how it was.
Though, she couldn’t quite hide the overwhelming relief that she felt when the white haired woman entered the restaurant and Gabby waved at her. “Laine! Over here!”
She had come. Just like Jace kept showing up. Obviously, there was no issues with her not being likable. And obviously she had to just kill this damn Squire before he messed with her mind even more.
“I’m so glad you made it! I’m starving!”

Laine skidded to an absolute halt in front of the restaurant and tried to make it look like she wasn't running a couple minutes late.
Cause of course, that's what had happened....
Ugh some first impression she was about to make. ....Well, second. Technically. But who was counting really.
Taking a deep breathe, she steeled her nerves and walked in only to immediately jump at the sound of her name. A sigh of relief left her at the sight of the girl waving her over.
"Hi." Laine said, sliding into her seat. "Sorry. I didn't leave you waiting long did I? I got caught up in something I was working on, and lost track of time." She really hoped that didn't sound like an excuse. She hadn't meant to lose track of time... it just happened when she got a little to involved.

“No, no! You’re fine, I’m just excited that you wanted to hang out. It’s…I’m trying to be more active with people outside of…work. You know?” Gabby flashed a smile, looking utterly pleased that she had come, though as her bright eyes took in the…the hair.
“Wait, so it’s not just long because of…ah. Work? Your hair’s actually crazy long for real?” She was grinning now, reaching out to tug one of her own stubby braids. “I’ve…I mean, damn Laine! How long have you been letting it grow? I swear I can’t stand it when mine gets down my back, I feel like I’m always sheering it off, it gets too hot…that’s so impressive!”
She flopped back down in the booth and slid over one of the menus to the girl, shaking her head. “How long does it take to dry? Like, I swear I don’t mean to fixate on your hair, it’s just. It’s lovely!”

"Ah... I know the feeling." She'd been trying that too. Things were still touch and go. But she was getting there. Maybe.
Laine laughed. "Uh, no. It's always been long. I think I'm one of a handful, who actually have stupidly long hair both on and off the field." She grinned, slightly. "It's been long ever since I was little. Maintaining it's a bit of a pain but I think I've gotten pretty good at it. I've got a brother whose got some long hair too. Not as long as mine but... Still decently long." She blinked, looking down at her braid. "I don't... think I've ever cut it all off? Like I get little trims here and there but I don't think it's ever been all hacked off." Something to think about maybe. "Long hair isn't for everyone. I think your short hair's cute though."
Laine took the menu, skimming it. "********. Ages. And honestly, what makes it worse is I let it air dry. I probably could cut my time in half a blow dry it, since by the time I get half way, the other half would be dry... but honestly I hate when hair strands get caught in the fan." She said, making a face.
Not to mention the burning hair smell. Ew.
"It's both a blessing and a curse during the summer and winter."

“I…I literally can’t even imagine it. It must take a few days to dry fully if you let it air dry…”
Gabby shuddered slightly and took a look at her own menu, chewing her lip as she tried to decide what to eat. “I think it’s crazy that you’ve never had like, a serious hair cut…Laine,”
Setting the menu down, Gabby looked at her friend, excitement in her eyes. “If you ever…if you ever decide that you do...I’ll pay for it! I have a great stylist who I trust with my hair, and she does so many good things. We can get our hair done together and maybe just do a whole spa day if you’d want to? Maybe we could plan it for next weekend, I haven’t done a spa day with a friend…”
She paused, wrinkling her nose. “...Not for a long while. And she was a b***h. But, you don’t have to get it cut short, maybe even just short enough that it doesn’t drag on the ground, I know that my stylist would know what to do for you, like I said, she’s the best!”

"Eh... It's not too horrible. Depending on how I lay it out, I'm there for a few hours. It's easier in the summer, when I can like... stay outside and it dry up faster. Usually I just get a couple of towels and try to get it as dry as possible. Then it's just a matter of brushing it out. I might cut it, someday... But." She shrugged slightly, tucking a bang behind her ear. "My brother likes to joke, when I have it unbraided, that's like watching Rapunzel." It was so long.
"Pft. I don't know if you wanna pay for that. That is a lot of hair. That might be a costly bill. I don't even want to think of what my hair would need after getting it cut. A spa day alone is costly enough." Depending on what they did. "I don't know about a hair cut just yet... But a spa day sounds fun. Start small, see where it takes us?" Laine offered.

“A spa day it is then!” Gabby looked utterly excited, though jumped as a friendly waitress came to the table to take their order and hurriedly scanned the menu, her mind far away, planning their next outing.
No matter what happened during it, it would be fun, and she had done a good job making Azurite into a friend…and hopefully one who would stick around for a long time.
