After meeting the mean wolf that was Fenrir, Proto decided that no, she wasn't jealous that Huntite was giving him all the attention, NOR was she butthurtt that she couldn't pet the precious winged puppy. Currently she was sitting on top of the roof of the manga shop she worked at, playing with her bubbles. Waste of energy? Yes, but it wasn't like she was using them currently. The dark mirror giggled when she popped one on top of the other, laying back to relax. The crystal in her hand would need to be used pretty soon, and she STILL didn't get to practice her mirror walking. That's something that she would have to attempt at some point.

-----------------

Huntite admittedly spent a good amount of time lavishing Fenrir with attention before finally turning it back to Proto as Fenrir disappeared back into the Rift. After all it was important to build your bond with your partner youma. Still he did feel a bit bad for accidentally ignoring his girlfriend. “Having fun?” He asked as he walked up behind her, staying away from the magic she was tossing around.

-----------------

Proto huffed and moved her head back to look at him from her position on the roof. "Maaayyyybe?" She popped one last bubble, sitting up. Her legs dangled off of the edge of the roof, "Round two? No fenrir." She stood up, hands on her hips while she waited on an answer. She demanded a redo dang it!

-----------------

“Alright, no Fenrir.” Huntite agreed with a nod. He didn’t want to spend the energy to summon the youma back right now anyway. Not when siad energy could be used for other things instead “Do you want to be the hunter this time or still be the hunted?” The Captain didn’t mind either option though they should probably make a few more rules after deciding.

-----------------

Now that was a question….

"Mmmmnnn…I'll be the hunted. You're at an advantage either way." She smiled. One day she would be a super, and THEN she could hunt him. Proto also wanted to take this time to learn as much as she could from the captain while he was hunter, to learn his patterns and whatnot.

-----------------

Huntite just gave a nod, not really surprised at that. “Alright then we should set a few more rules. First, no depowering. If you aren’t careful you might get spotted and it’s not as useful as you would think as obvious from the two previous times you have done so. I’ll teach you some tricks to better that later alright?”

-----------------

Proto blinked and nodded, never having really thought about the consequences of depowering. The dark mirror gave a nod, "Alright, no depowering.~" she was sure there should be more rules, so she waited for Hunt to continue.

-----------------

“Second, you won't mirror walk drastically away just to win and I won't teleport at all.” Huntite added on. “We can test those abilities another time if you like but only after we are familiar enough with how much energy it takes from the user as if you used it in a real battle with someone hunting you down it could be a disadvantage for you without precautions.” He frankly didn’t know enough about mirror walking to know how much of a drain it was and while he did know his own teleporting drain it was better to trade an ability for ability. “Any from you?”

-----------------

How did he know she was going to do that?!

Proto reluctantly agreed, "I wasn't going to go far you know…" but rules were rules and they were made to be followed. "Other then no Fenrir and no teleporting? Nope." She couldn't think of anything at the moment anyway, too eager to get started. "Oh! If I manage to elude you for fifteen minutes then I win. If you capture me and keep me from escaping, then you win." She nodded to confirm, "Prize is the same though."

-----------------

“Alright, sounds reasonable. Time starts after you have a two minute head start.” Huntite shifted his shoulders a bit to loosen them up. “Do you want to start from here or somewhere else?”

-----------------

Proto shook her head, "Here is fine~" she saluted him and took off once more, heading to the right. She would avoid alleyways, and try to keep from powering down. She once again tried to keep as much distance between them as possible.

-----------------

As he waited for the time to count down, Huntite stretched out his arms and legs a bit leisurely. If anyone was watching they wouldn’t be able to tell just how prepared he was unless they looked at his eyes. As soon as the time was up he was taking off at a ground eating pace with a smirk on his face.

-----------------

Proto could literally feel when the two minute timer was up. Perhaps she should've said Hunt couldn't use all of his speed? That might have very well been a thing she should have said. Pushing herself to move further, she leaped from roof to roof trying to maintain that distance between them. This was going to be hard, and she had to be somewhat creative. But she was at a loss for what to do.

-----------------

His focus narrowed to her signature, only peripherally aware of anything else as needed, as he swiftly moved from rooftop to rooftop. It didn’t take him long at all to get her in viewing distance and with a feral grin he raised his bow with an arrow attached. After all he had been planning on pinning her down or corralling her with it during their first spar before he decided to summon Fenrir instead. The arrow flew through the air not aiming for skin at all but rather clothe or parts of roof that would force her to move how he wanted her to.

-----------------

Proto yelped when she heard rather than saw an arrow fly past her to land in front of her pathway. "Really!?" She could feel Huntite getting rather close, turning left instead of right like she had originally intended. The arrows kept coming and she could've sworn this felt familiar. The dark mirror senshi skidded to a halt and shook her head.

No way was she falling for this again.

Instead of allowing the arrows lead her, Protogenia went on a path of her own, giving Huntite a smirk she knew he would see.

-----------------

The grin never changed as Proto changed direction, dismissing his bow with a pleased hum. He had been hoping she would wise up and was glad to see her take initiative this time. That still didn’t stop him from speeding up even more and gain even more ground.

-----------------

She was pretty proud of herself!

However, that proudness evaporated once she felt Huntite starting coming faster. Well…He would win at this point, so she might as well go out with a bang right? Proto stopped and turned around, raising her hand. She wait till he was jussssst close enough before smiling, "Stasis bubble!" The huge bubble emerged from her hand, floating towards the upcoming captain.

Now she knew her bubble wouldn't affect him all that much, but Huntite was also not aware of that.

-----------------

As fast as he was going, it would be hard to pull a full stop so he didn’t even bother trying. Instead he attempted to mitigate the possible damage by dodging off to the side. Unfortunately he had been too close to fully dodge and it was enough that the magic took effect, freezing him in place.

-----------------

Proto wanted to leap with excitement but tempered that down, walking up to Huntite to place a kiss on his frozen lips. “Gottcha!” She laughed and took off once more, using the time he was frozen to gain as much ground as she could. This was fun! Now she wasn't sure if it would be as fun if she was fighting the enemy, but while sparring…. She could stand to do this more often.

-----------------

As soon as the fifteen seconds passed he was free from the bubble and while it took him a moment to catch his balance, he was very quickly back to chasing her. Huntite didn’t take long to catch up and this time he came at her from the side, barreling into her and scooping her up in a bear hug to keep her arms and hands pressed to her side. “Caught you, looks like I won again.” The feral grin was back as he said this and he stole a kiss as his prize.
