For his part, while Versailles was out and about he wasn't doing any draining. It just seemed like such a waste of time. Of course, he was required to do so as a Corrupt but he had no motivation. Draining others wasn't as fun as it had been before and even then he was most likely only convincing himself that it was.
You go and find a civilian, drain them and... continue that for the rest of the time in the Negaverse, along with fighting the White Moon, and then you either outlived your usefulness or...
He didn't want to think about the "or". But what would following the Negaverse's commands get
him? A promotion so he could do the same thing, but more easily? Even more unmanagebale hair?!
The unasked question seemed to trigger his hair into hitting him in the face again. Why was it so windy out?
He had been so lost in his musings that he hadn't picked up the Squire's aura until they were quite close. He could see her, he assumed, but he had no desire to fight and only raised a hand, while using the other to move his hair out of his face. The latter failed.
