Tiam had luckily had the frame of mind to ask Zota out for a third date before they had split ways the last time. Though he'd had to tell her it would be a few days before he could give her his time as he felt she deserved since he was scheduled to train with his mentor the following three days. Of course the leafling had every intention of making up for that.
How? Simple! Tiam recalled what Zota had stated she liked hairpins. So he'd gone to the store she'd showed him on their previous date and found one he thought would compliment her eye color. Tiam had to admit he really liked Zota's eyes.
So with the gift now in hand it was his turn to wait at the agreed upon meeting place, the famous fountain.

Goodness, the wait was dreadful! Her normal chores and lessons kept her busy, but all Zota could think about over the last few days was Tiam. A third date! Who would have thought that a random blind date would turn into something so.. well, something that her young mind thought to be the most wonderful thing. She tried to not rush as she went to the fountain to meet her date, eager to make the most of their day together. Oh, he was already there! She paused a moment to make sure she was all straightened out and then skipped over with a big smile. "Tiam! I'm so glad you could make it."

He stood waiting, watching all those that went by with a smile, and when he heard Zota he turned her way. Tiam's smile grew wider as he looked her over then bowed his head slightly. "Of course, and I'm happy to be the first one here this time." With a chuckle he took a step toward her. "I have a gift for you as well." He held the thinly wrapped gift out for her to take. He was hoping she'd like it enough to wear it on their date. "The color reminded me of your eyes so I had to get it."

Zota chuckled bashfully and nodded. "I hope I didn't keep you waiting." Her eyes widened at the mention of a gift, straightening up with interest. "Tiam, that's so sweet of you." She gingerly unwrapped the surprise and let out a coo of delight. He'd been paying attention! "It's lovely! Thank you!" She raised a hand to her hair contemplating the best placement for it with her current loose style. Then she realized.. "I didn't bring anything for you though." She ducked her head slightly. There had been no plans made for a gift exchange, but she still felt a little guilty for arriving empty handed when he had brought her something so nice.

He was pleased that she liked the gift he'd picked out for her. Tiam watched as she tried to find the best place to wear it at. Then she said she hadn't brought anything for him and he laughed a little. "Of course you did, Zota." He tilted his head a little to the side in an innocent manner. "Your company is the perfect gift." That was a line he'd stolen from his mother but his date didn't need to know that. "Shall we?" Tiam offered his arm as he always did. Today he planned to take her to the book store she'd shown him before so they could read and enjoy a snack or two.

Zota peeked up hesitantly. She had? Of course, Tiam's words sent heat across her face and a pleased wiggle in her chest. "You always say the sweetest things," she purred, still bashfully keeping her gaze down as she resumed searching for a good spot for the pin. She ended up tucking it over her ear. The fabric rose and leaves nestled on top of her ear while the delicate beading draped down on either side of it. Utterly elegant. Too bad she didn't have a mirror to make sure it was perfect. Instead, she looked to Tiam for approval and took the arm he was offering. "How does it look?"

He took the time to admire Zota and the new addition to her hair. After a second he nodded his head. "Perfect." Honestly though, Tiam was sure he'd find Zota to be beautiful even if she had bed head. "Although, that may be distracting." How would he be expected to read a book now? Words on a page would hold no interest to his eyes. Still, he wore a smile as he looked at her. The leafling wouldn't mind the distraction so much if it was his lovely date.

Zota's cheeks flared hot with bashful delight. Did Tiam even have to try, or did all this smooth talking come natural to him? How had he not been scooped up by some other lucky individual yet? Her chest filled with tension as she tried to build up a bit of bravery. Could she..? Maybe not.. But maybe.. Just a little one... With a soft inhale of air for support, she reached up and planted a soft, quick kiss to Tiam's cheek. "How had no one else run off with you yet?" she asked with a giggle, ducking back down just as quickly.

There was the blush he'd grown used to seeing on Zota's cheeks. He smiled at her but his smile turned to surprise when she kissed his cheek quickly. He brought his hand up to touch his cheek as he felt a blush spread over his own face. Tiam cleared his throat and looked at the ground then to the side. "Uh.. I was too busy for anyone else to get my attention I guess." He'd never really paid much attention to anyone else or been interested. The blind date had been a good idea in his opinion since he'd gotten to meet Zota. "Also might be hard to run off with me if I have two left feet."

Zota peeked up, smirked, and ducked back down. Well, it was nice to know she wasn't the only one of them who could blush! "Too busy.. I am very glad you made the time for that blind date." She knew he was often very busy, and any time they had together was appreciated. "Really? Two left feet?" She chuckled lightly and gave his arm a squeeze. "Well, not to worry. I happen to have a very good balance of both feet. I bet we could manage it." A bashful chuckle rose at herself. Not that they needed to actually run anywhere! "Speaking of which, do you have a destination in mind?"

He nodded his head at her. That blind date had been a very nice stroke of good luck. Tiam grinned at the thought. Getting to meet Zota was definitely a high light. "No really, if you ever get the misfortune of watching me run it is an awful sight. I trip quite a bit." Running just wasn't his thing. Neither was dancing. One had to be more coordinated with their feet for that. His coordination was more in his hands. "I do. I thought we could enjoy that book store. I'd like to try the snacks and we could find an adventure book."

"Oh my," she replied with a soft laugh. Naturally, she felt the urge to see Tiam running immediately.. but she couldn't ask that! "In that case, we won't worry about running unless we absolutely have to." One day, somehow, she would get to see it! The bookstore! Zota brightened up happily. That was one of the places she had pointed out to him! "That will be wonderful. They have a selection of snacks and teas that are available all year, and then some that are seasonal. I'd heard they'll be switching the seasonal ones soon, so it will be a fun surprise to see which ones are there."

"Something seasonal would be nice." If it was going to be out of stock for a bit then he might want to try something like that now and then get something on the regular menu later. He held his hand out for her to take. Usually he offered his arm but this felt more date-like to him. "You did mention something that you liked from there the last time we were on a date. I thought you might enjoy it this time." Tiam was trying to be more and more thoughtful with her.

Zota nodded her agreement. If the snacks hadn't been changed yet, it would be a good idea to try them while they were still around. They could make a point of being sure to stop by during each season to try out the tasty treats! It was hard to suppress the giddy wiggle that she felt go along her back when Tiam held out her hand. Her cheeks were warm with delight as she accepted his hand, linking their fingers together. He did have strong hands.. She could have stood there all day, but they had more to do! With a little chuckle, she gave his hand a tug and resumed their walk to the bookstore. "There are plenty of books to choose from. I'm sure we'll find something that you can enjoy."

Seeing her excitement just made him double down on the thought that she was adorable. Tiam had to press his lips together to avoid grinning from ear to ear, but it was clear he was smiling still. His poor face was going to hurt later. When she gave a tug he moved closer to her and couldn't help but look at Zota with a bit of adoration in his eyes. "I'd like it if you picked out an adventure book for me." He was determined to get one so he could read it and discuss it with her if it was one she read. If it wasn't then he could tell her all about it. "I heard they come highly recommended."
