Nectaris had reached out to Lourdes, looking for a contact within the brigade. Er... more contacts... or was it information? Lourdes had been in such a tizzy since the other knight reached out that she forgot the actual details. She knew the basics, of course. Her name was Nectaris. She was a purified knight. She wanted to join. Beyond that... Lourdes was going in blind. She twisted the signet ring on her finger, still such a foreign object despite her months of having it. She still felt it on her flesh the same way she felt her uniform in the months after her purification.
"Hello, my name is Lourdes... no... no that's to formal." She shook her head fervently, pacing along the path in the park.
"Hey, I'm Lourdes... still clunky..." She needed to put the best foot forward. HEr introduction needed to be perfect.
"Yo, what's up -- oh god, ******** that, ******** all of that." She couldn't afford to mess this up. If she failed her brigade... she'd rather die.
"Hi there," her voice was too loud too... saccharine. She scrapped that idea before she went any further. Natural... she had to just be natural... but what was natural? Suddenly she wasn't sure how she acted regularly. What was normal? How did she walk? Where did she put her arms? How did her hands work? She fidgeted with her gloves nervously and tried to take as deep a breath as possible.
Be natural.
Be yourself.
However that was.

A pink figure rounded the corner and stared for a couple of seconds before she giggled. "You don't have to be nervous about talking to me, y'know," she said, hopping forwards a couple of steps, her pink mary-janes clicking against the pavement. "I'm not scary." She stopped on that thought, and puffed oout her cheeks, considering. "I mean, I guess maybe there's something in me that's a little bit scary, if I ended up being a Negaverse General, but, like, I don't remember like any of that, so I dunno if I have it in me to be scary now." Her head tilted just a tiny bit to the side. "You're Lourdes, right?" She was mostly just asking to be polite. She'd totally heard the other knight practicing her introduction while she'd been walking up. Not that she knew much about who she was talking to. This wasn't the Neptune Knight who'd lost his Negaverse memories like she had, he'd been busy, but it was someone from Asphodel's team. That was kinda cool in itself. "I'm Nectaris. Hi!"

The little laugh should have insulted Lourdes. It should have. And she was amazed that it didn't. In fact, the sound rather soothed her, as did the rest of her light rambling. It eased her shoulders from her ears and drew an easy smile to her lips. It wiped away the embarrassment in her nervousness and allowed her to think properly. Allowed her to clear her throat and answer, "yeah, I'm Lourdes. Of Venus, obviously. And let's get something very straight right now." Her voice got firm suddenly, as she closed the distance between the two of them. "Whatever was inside of you that made you capable of being a Negaverse General... that was all Metallia. And it got burned out of you the second you came home. Just like it got burned out of me." She tapped her own chest with a pink painted nail and then did the same to Nectaris. "What really matters is in here. That little seed that makes us who we are. And you had enough strength and reason to see that it was covered in something terrible. That someone had lied to you and that whole horrible organization kept that lie going. So, without further ado, please allow me to welcome you home, Nectaris. And welcome you to the Piercing Sun Brigade." Because it was just that easy. And it should be that easy. Easy and... and strange. So strange. Because Lourdes was speaking to Nectaris, of course, but she wasn't totally sure where the words were coming form and was shocked to find that they hit her square in her own chest. Like when her therapist made her repeat the words I am worthy, I am lovable, I am good over and over until she was crying. Strange...

Over the past year or so, Nectaris had gotten some gentle reminders here and there about how she wasn't a bad person just because she'd been in the Negaverse. It turned out, having someone up in your face and being, like, very assertive and positive about it was a lot more effective at snapping her right out of that headspace than anything else had been. "Yeah," she said, "Chaos is gross. From what I hear, it made me super different? But I'm free now, like you said. We're free." Maybe it was the fact that she knew what she was talking about that made Nikki take her so seriously. She hadn't met that many other people who had gotten out of the Negaverse, and she looked at Lourdes with something that was creeping a little bit past respect and into awe. "Also, did I mention yet that your outfit is the cutest thin I've seen in my entire life? Like, ever? You get a little flower crown and everything!" If not for the respect thing, she probably would have been making high pitched squealing noises at the whole outfit, which just happened to be in some of her favorite colors and also kind of match her own. Instead she just bounced up on her toes, eyes sparkling.

At the compliments to her uniform, Lourdes preened. She had absolutely no had in designing or choosing her outfit, but she was still insurmountably proud. They weren't just clothes. It wasn't just a collection of ruffles and lace and silk. It was a physical manifestation that she'd made it. She'd survived despite it all. Despite everything and every one. Despite Faustite. Despite Metallia. Despite herself. "The flowers come from my wonder," she mentioned, polished fingers rising to touch a delicate petal. "I can make you a matching one sometime! We can go up there for tea and we can walk the grounds. They're horribly overgrown, but I'm working on it. Slow going on my own but." She gestured as though to say what can you do?"But oh my gosh, these would go so well with you're outfit, which is also so cute by the way." She pinched the fabric of the butterfly cape between her fingers gently. "There are some beautiful lilacs up there that smell like melons. they'd good so good in your hair." But Lourdes was getting off topic. She shook herself, as though physically recentering, and smiled again. "You wanted to know about our brigade, though, right? What questions can I answer?"
