Steve was probably the cutest thing on the entire planet Earth. He was kind, courteous, curious, and cute. He was smart, charming, and funny. He eased all of Andreiya’s worries–and, he had a lot of them.
Sometimes Steve liked to tunnel, or dig. A lot of times he liked to run, and sleep, and eat.
They were all cute.
But Andreiya loved when he wanted to dress up the most. It was a strange little hobby, he knew, but Steve loved it. He would stand on his back legs and stretch, and spin, like he was showing off. He never tried to get out of the clothes and looked like he had so much fun.
It had been a while since he sent Lionel any pictures–which was a shame, because Steve was so cute.
Today, he’d brought him a sunflower, and Steve–the little angel that he was–had immediately started posing on it. Andreiya had let him pick out what he wanted to wear–a little yellow sundress that was perfect. It was probably meant for a doll, but Steve wore it well, and Andreiya took a good few pictures before he sent a few of his favorites to Lionel with the message, ‘He is feeling very pretty today.’
The last picture looked like Steve was waving, so he sent that with the message, ‘He says hello.’

Lionel was out buying fabric, using his time as a human wisely, at least to his own mind. He had most of his fabric stash in his new home, and was trying to make his workshop as good as he could, but it was hard when there was still so many repairs on the house to be done.
Still, there were absolutely no regrets. He wouldn’t trade his life now for the chance to make a wardrobe for the queen of England herself.
When his phone went off, he paused and looked down at it, grinning when he saw it was from Andy and with a laugh, shook his head.
‘He looks terribly handsome. I’m out buying fabric, does our little Steve have any requests of new outfits that I can make for him? That dress really brings out his eyes, and please tell him that I say hello too!’
Luckily Andy knew both sides of his life…but he still didn’t know that Celadonite had…well. Become a half youma. That…should be addressed soon, but…if anything. It would make things easier, perhaps Andy would be able to go shopping for him. That…
Would be quite helpful.

‘Do you want to make something for him? He would like that. He is always happy with new clothes.’
He thought about calling Lionel but he didn’t want to bother him if he was busy. Andreiya was laying on his stomach, kicking his feet behind him leisurely as Steve stretched again. His little nose was wiggling, but his eyes were closing, as if he was thinking about going to sleep soon. Andreiya couldn’t blame him; he’d been up for nearly the last two days already and he was feeling a bit tired, himself.
‘He does not need much fabric to look fabulous. I was thinking I would like to make him some things but I am supposed to be focusing on my research.’
And, he was! He was already running a few more tests on his plants and trying to research what was going on with them.
Some things, he could explain to others. Making clothes for hamsters, probably not. He really didn’t want to disappoint the Commodore.

‘I would love to make something for him. All of the something’s for him.’
Lionel scoffed and then dialed Andy’s number, holding the phone to his ear. He could shop and talk a lot easier than he could shop and text.
But he wanted to figure out if he could actually teach the other male how to make clothes, and if he was expressing interest in it…well. That would be fun to have a sewing buddy.
Besides, research had to wait. You had to let the plants grow, had to wait for the right growing seasons, greenhouse or not. But clothes…clothes were always good. Always in style, and Steve…well. Steve was the best model that existed.
He hummed softly and reached out, touching a soft blue fabric while he waited for Andy to answer.

Andreiya was delighted when the phone actually rang, and he quickly answered it and held it to his face. “Hello, Lionel.”
He pressed the phone and kicked his feet a little, watching as Steve curled himself up into a little ball. He reached out to pet him gently, and the hamster awoke with a start, but Andreiya shifted positions so he could sit up and gently cradle him. Steve was quick to burrow into his hand and bury his face against Andreiya’s fingers. He pressed the phone between his cheek and shoulders so he could pet him gently.
“Steve is taking a nap so I have to be quiet. How are you?”

“Is he napping? Ugh, he’s such a good roommate. I’m so happy for you Andy. I’m glad that it’s been working out so well! But, I’m doing okay. Can we meet up sometime soon? I…Kind of did something and now I’m…a little bit different than what I was before. I’m still me obviously but…I’m not completely human anymore so…”
He touched a piece of dark purple fabric and then pulled the bolt out, tucking it under his arm.
“But, you know you can still learn to sew and do your research, and I’d be happy to teach you to make clothes for Steve, don’t you think learning how to make clothing would be beneficial for your whole…home as a whole? Someone needs to know how to, don’t you think?”

Steve was so sweet and perfect, and Andreiya was so happy that Lionel introduced them. He wanted to just keep talking about Steve but Lionel said something strange, and a little electric spark twitched in his stomach. “Are you okay?” he asked.
The frown was audible in his voice and worry was quickly pooling. “I might like to learn how to do those things.” Maybe the plants could have sweaters for when the weather was cooling off? No, that was silly. He had a heater for them. He was getting ahead of himself, Steve was the one who needed clothes.
“How are you not completely human? Do you need a doctor? Is it a prosthetic? I want to meet up with you, now I am worried.”

“Don’t be worried, Andy. I’m fine, I promise you that I’m fine.” Lionel tried to soothe the worry from the male’s voice but, it was hard to do over the phone, made harder still from the fact that they simply hadn’t seen one another in so very long.
“You want to meet up like, now? Like right now? Because I’m completely fine with that. I’m at the craft store that we went to once, the big one over on vine street. I’ll be here for a little while, I still have about two and a half hours before I have to…ah. Have to go…home.”
Or change into his normal form but. Again. That was something he would explain while Andy was here.
“I found some really nice fabric to make myself a shirt, maybe I can make Steve a matching one and you can take some photos of us being twins, yeah?”

Andreiya’s lips pursed but he finally relented and nodded a bit, even if only to himself. What Lionel was saying sounded good, so he quickly pushed himself up off the ground–careful, as always, to treat Steve like the little treasure he was.
“I can be there soon. Steve would love that, I think.” He didn’t speak hamster, but Steve seemed to like living his best life. “I am going to tuck him in and then I will head over. I remember where it is. I have not eaten yet, I will need to get food also. If you are interested.”
Steve was safely back in his room, and Andreiya closed it all up so he wouldn’t get out and get lost. Then, he fiddled with his ComTech and put on his human glamour. “But we can figure that out later. I will feel better when I see you, your cryptic comments are making me assume the worst.”

“It’s nothing bad Andy, I promise. I’ll see you soon, and yeah. Food sounds wonderful to me, I’d love to grab something to eat with you! Just, let me know when you arrive, okay?”
He smiled and grabbed another bolt of fabric, this one in a light pink that matched Andy’s natural skin color…maybe…
Maybe he could matching shirts for them all.
“I’m going to let you go, but I’ll see you soon, okay?” He chuckled and then ended the call, slipping the phone into his pocket and heading over to the desk, excited to get the fabric cut.
