Today was such a beautiful day as Sabrina had just gotten done helping her parents tidy up the family hotel. It was the normal summer cleaning at least for her family. Since they had been so busy this year with customers it was a little messier than they would have liked. Which just meant they all had to pitch in and even if she was little she always tried to pull her share. It was only fair that way.

After she finished today though her parents gave her a card, and told her to go have some fun. It really surprised her, but she just nodded happily and went on her way. She grabbed her brown leather bag, fed her cute kitty, and quickly headed out.

That was how she suddenly ended up walking into the largest arts and craft store in town. One of her happy places, since she knew here she could definitely find something to spend her money on. After all, she always needed more things for her ongoing scrapbooking. Since she never could seem to ever have enough for her ideas.

As soon as Sabrina reached the store she ran through the doors like a kid in a candy shop. She couldn't wait to see what kinds of paper they had for the family scrapbook. Especially since with the hotel remodel, she had a lot of new pages she needed to create. That was one of the things she loved about her family is they had a bond. Sure others may think they were a little weird at times, especially since they live in the hotel. She thought they were just weird enough and then she remembered the drywall accident. Man, that was messy and destructive...

Then it hit her! She forgot her family kitty needed a new blanket. Since during the remodel they may have accidentally wrecked her old one. Specifically during that drywall accident. With that in mind, she quickly ran over to the fabric area.

As she arrived she saw so many choices. This area was literally filled with so many choices she really didn't know where to start, and that lost expression was surely showing on her face as she looked around. Now she had never made a blanket before, but there was always the first right?

Suddenly as Sabrina was looking around at the fabric section she noticed another girl who seemed to know what to do. She had already picked so many beautiful fabrics that she was carrying them in her arms and she was smiling! All the signs of someone who must be a pro at this!

She quickly shook her head and just decided to head in their direction. Her feet moved before any ideas could flow on how to do this. After all, she wanted to make sure this blanket was perfect, or perfect as a first-time blanket could be. Who knows - Maybe some pointers from a pro wouldn't hurt.

As she got closer she took a deep breath, smiled, decided to wing it, and waved at the other girl.

"Um hello there! My name is Sabrina." She said a little nervously. "Sorry to interrupt your shopping. I just noticed you had so many beautiful pieces of fabric and wondered if you might have any pointers on what to use for a blanket. Maybe? It's my first time making one and I'm honestly a little lost."

Admitting she needed help was always a little hard for her, but this time she knew without help she might be standing here all day and still go home empty-handed. Since there really were so many choices.

Sabrina was so happy the girl responded and didn't think she was weird for coming up to her like this.

"Well, I plan on making a spooky-like blanket for my black Bombay cat. I kinda wrecked her blanket in our hotel renovations. So what would you recommend for something like that?" she said before continuing, "and it's wonderful to meet you Tullia. I don't mind the ranting at all, I'm so happy to have some help with this project thank you!" she finished with a huge grin.

Her instincts were right and she was so happy this new acquaintance ended up being so kind. It looked like her kitty's blanket would be making way shortly.

Sabrina listened intensely about her suggestions. Since she was totally right about the patchwork, she had never ever thought about that! and she definitely didn't want her cute little claws to get stuck. Man this girl was so smart about this stuff it amazed her.

She could see it in her mind now. "Hmm thank you for all that! It really helped. I'm thinking maybe an all black full-moon shaped blanket. Maybe one with a star pattern on it that is of course really soft. I think that could just be the prettiest!" After saying that her eyes were shining and she was so excited to get started.

Then she calmed down for a moment and smiled. It was unusual for her to talk to someone about crafts. Normally it was all training or family stuff. "I think it's really nice to have someone to talk arts and crafts too. Most people I know aren't really into it." As she finished she looked around the fluffy fabric that was black with stars on it. Just then an idea hit her.

"You know what how would you like to come to my families hotel sometime and maybe work on arts and crafts together. I have a huge room just for all my crafting needs and I know my parents wouldn't mind," she said hoping her idea wasn't too weird but she really would love to have a friend who liked this kind of stuff too.

All the sudden she heard her phone go off. She quickly answered it and her father explained she was needed at the hotel. She hung up her phone, and quickly grabbed a piece of paper from her bag. She wrote down her families hotel name and her cell phone number.

"I'm so sorry I have to go, but here is all my info! Feel free to come over anytime and thank you for your help!" she said with a smile before rushing off to the register and then out the door. She really hoped she would see her new friend again soon!
