Monoceros let out a deep breath as he and Lysithea came home from her world. It had been beautiful up there, and he wished he could've stayed forever, but... No, no. He couldn't. He had to come back. Life wasn't sustainable up there, but even if it had been, he... he had people he cared about. Which was weird. He hadn't had someone he really cared about in a long time (not even himself, really). But he did, and he had to do something to make sure they all knew he was alive. And then betray them. He felt like a heel, but... He couldn't just purify immediately. He had things he had to do. And a life to get together. He wanted to purify and be ready for the switch, so he could have all his things together. Say goodbye. That sort of thing. So here he was, waiting for Michel to come and curbstomp him, like... like the Knight had nearly done, way back when he'd first been corrupted, until Monoceros broke down on him like some big stupid baby. Part of him felt like it was justified, then. That Michel deserved this chance. God, he was sick. His thoughts weren't helping jack s**t. "How quickly do you think he'll get here?" he wondered.

Lysithea huffed, feeling a little unsure now that she was alone with Monoceros. She didn’t think that the corrupt would hurt her or drag her back to chaos now that they had freed him from whatever…revolting control he had been under but…
…She still wasn’t altogether comfortable with the idea of just standing around alone with him waiting on Michel to get here. “Soon, I’m sure. I messaged him before we even left Lysithea and I don’t think he’ll take any delays.”
Not when it was her. Not when he already hated the whole plan she had come up with to try and save Monoceros.
…Not when she had failed to get him to purify but.
Bah.
Drawing out her phone again, she sent the knight another text.
Quote: I forgot to mention, he wants to look like he’s been beaten and asked me to do it but I’m terrible at hurting people who I could consider a friend so…I’m really hoping you can rough him up a little bit. His idea is to lie to his superior that he was kidnapped or something. I don’t know. I think it would be easier if he just purified but. He seems to be one for the theatrics…love you. See you soon, I hope. He obviously won’t hurt me but. I’m still uneasy being here without Ilse or anyone else so…not saying you should hurry up but…
With a sigh, she sent another text.

Michel wasn’t particularly happy to be out right now. He’d gotten the text messages and was on his way over, but he had to take the long way. He was just on the outskirts of their rendezvous point when he got Lysithea’s messages, but he was close enough that he didn’t bother to text back. He could feel them within a few seconds, and he could see them in only a few more.
There didn’t seem to be anyone else nearby, but he was careful to make sure that he hadn’t been followed, and he didn’t want to bring them any trouble.
He had a bad reputation. He didn’t regret it. Lysithea was back, after all.
With Monoceros. Who he didn’t quite trust right now, but. Whatever.
She’d texted that she loved him, which stuck out amongst the rest of the message. He wasn’t going to say no to her, anyway. But, he didn’t think she was completely in her right mind if she was saying that Monoceros obviously wouldn’t hurt her; he didn’t trust anyone in the Negaverse.
…Especially someone who wanted him to beat them up.
His weapon was in his hand when he approached, and he was ready to attack if this was some sort of trap, but he didn’t want to start hurting someone until he understood exactly what was going on.
When he was close enough to speak without having to yell, he asked, “So what, exactly, am I doing here? You want me to beat the s**t out of you?”

"Yes," Monoceros answered easily, glancing at Lysithea and back to Michel. Her presence was reassuring, to him, for reasons he didn't quite understand. He took a deep breath and began to explain, "I have things I need to do. Which involve going back there, unfortunately. They... they'd done something, to me. To make me want... to..." He swallowed, face going pale. "Well, a lot of things. I don't agree with anything the Negaverse does, man. I'm just not the kind of person they were forcing me to be. But I still have things I need to wrap up. And I was gone, for a long time. I need an explanation, some kind of excuse. Saying I was kidnapped by you lot? Boom. Need proof? Look at how beat up I am. I don't want to get put under their control again, or... turned into a youma, or something. What I want... is to survive. And maybe, if I'm good enough, I can bring you guys information while I work on my way out."

For a moment, Lysithea seemed to light up when she felt Michel and saw him, heard him, but then she rubbed the bridge of his nose when his tone really came through. Ah. He was in a mood, but…that was to be expected she supposed.
“I understand that he just wants to keep himself safe, Michel. Just…make it look convincing. If you go too hard with him, I can always heal a few of the bigger cuts if we have to, so that shouldn’t be any kind of an issue.”
There was a desperate desire to just beg Monoceros to leave now...but she did understand wanting to wait. After all, she had done the same thing, hadn’t she? She had gotten Ilse out of danger and stayed behind…she had taken care of her own loose ends.
“Don’t worry too much about bringing information though, Ceros. Just…see that you keep yourself safe, and make sure you’re able to get away…If something happens I just need you to know that I’ll never forgive myself, and then you’ll have Michel pissed at you for real and he’s going to beat you up for real so…”
She shrugged and moved to stand beside the Knight, giving him a quick hug.

Michel wasn’t even sure what information he wanted to hear, except maybe that Faustite had gone up in flames, but. He suspected Lysithea would be less enthusiastic to hear such news, though.
“I mean,” he dismissed his weapon. “I’ll try to make it convincing. I took Faustite to my Wonder once.” He looked at Lysithea almost apologetically, and gave her a little squeeze back into the hug as if to reassure her. He didn’t really regret giving Faustite a hard time. He just didn’t want her to hate him for it. “So don’t give anyone too many details unless you want them to poke holes in your story. Say I blindfolded you and it was cold and creepy, I guess.”
He rolled his shoulders and locked his fingers together so he could crack his knuckles. “I can try to pull my punches, but I’m a little rusty so. I guess, apologies in advance. I’ll try not to break anything. Tell me when you want me to stop.”
He’d hit plenty of people in his life, but not any who wanted it.
He didn’t feel bad about it–Monoceros technically hadn’t done anything wrong, and Michel just wanted to grab him by the scruff of his uniform and actually abduct him until he realized that he should just suck it up and purify, but. Maybe he was a masochist or something, or maybe there was something really important he had to do. Maybe he could set a bomb off in the Negaverse or something, whatever.
“You ready to start?”

Monoceros had no doubts in his mind that Michel would beat him up for real if he ******** this up royally, somehow, and he refused to let that happen. Still, he quirked his lips in a little smile at Lysithea and nodded, looking to Michel as he spoke again. "Blindfolded, cold, creepy," he listed off, "Not too many details. Maybe... you wanted info, thought I'd been involved with Lysithea's corruption?" He smiled bitterly at that, but quickly schooled his expression with a shake of his head. "Anyway. Don't worry about not hurting me too much. I'm ready to take whatever you got." He got into a defensive stance, instinctually, and waited.

Lysithea shook her head at that last. “No, he wouldn’t still be searching for information on my corruption, not when it’s known that I’m back. Maybe he just got bored after not being able to beat people up for a while.” She gave Michel a look, and then shoved him, none too gently towards Monoceros.
“On second thought, don’t be too terribly rough, He’s right and I don’t want to have to use my magic on him. So go ham but not too ham, and make it quick, I’m ready to go home and have something warm to eat. I hope that we’ll be able to figure something out.”
Her eyes were bright with a little mischief as she looked at Monoceros. “You’ll be able to have warm food too when you purify, so don’t dawdle too long, okay? I want you back where you belong.”
And with that said, she took a step backwards and sat on the ground, pulling her knees to her chest, waiting for the fight to begin.

Michel glanced at Lysithea as she sat down and huffed, brushed off where she had shoved him. “Maybe you should close your eyes,” he suggested, because even if he was going easy on Monoceros, he didn’t want her to watch him beat the s**t out of him.
He wasn’t going to demand she avert her gaze and he wasn’t going to drag this out or any longer than he needed to, so he turned to face the Corrupted Senshi.
“Maybe I heard a rumor that you were asking questions about her. Maybe I thought I’d knock some sense into you to get you to back off. Maybe you got lucky and I let you go to send a message for the Negaverse to ******** off.”
Food for thought.
He didn’t think Monoceros was actually ready to take whatever he had, and Michel was very much pulling his punches when he slugged him in the gut. And then the face. And then the face again. Was three times too much? How much did he want to be hit? Michel thought he should kick him too.
So, he did. Swiped right behind his leg, and then planted his hands on his hips. He wasn’t even out of breath.
“You want more? Where are we at, on a scale out of one to ten? Want me to break something, or…?”

Monoceros yelped as much as he could at the first punch, it taking some of the air from his lungs, and then the three punches to his face happened so quickly he almost couldn't process them. His leg was swept out from under him and he yelped again as it felt like he was launched sky high and then came back down hard on the ground, his head slapping into the pavement and bouncing a couple times. ******** slightly and holding his face in shock as if he hadn't just been practically begging for this, he smiled through bloodied lips and slightly blurred vision. "Didn't Lysithea say she'd heal me if you broke something?" he asked with a breathless chuckle, touching his lips and wincing a bit. Damn, lips shouldn't be so delicate with the sharp teeth literally right behind them. "I should be good. ********. I think I'll have a concussion now, and that'll work. All that stuff you said sounds good." He exhaled slowly, closing his eyes for a moment and reopening them. "Thank you."

Lysithea watched, wincing and rather horrified as Michel did…exactly what Monoceros had asked for but…wow, it was difficult to stomach.
“...I did say I would heal you if it was too bad but…you should go home now. Go get sympathy from whoever it is that you’re trying to fool…and we can meet up again later…just. Try to stay in touch as much as you can. I want to get you out of there as quickly as I can…I mean. I don’t want you poisoned by them for any longer than you have to be.”
Moving over, Lysithea curled her arms around one of Michel’s arms and tugged him back slightly. “...Let’s just go home. You’ve done enough. I’m convinced. Let the poor thing leave in peace. We…”
She drew in a breath, needing to leave before she did something stupid like using all of the magic she could to heal him.
“We’ll see you soon, Monoceros. And you’ll come home.”

Oh, oops. Michel rubbed at his knuckles contemplatively. He looked a little rougher than Michel had intended but if they were both happy, he wasn’t going to feel bad about it.
“...Yeah, I guess we should head out before someone else shows up and tries to poke around.” He didn’t want to deal with anyone seeing him out with Lysithea; he had enough enemies, he didn’t want to deal with that s**t tonight.
He gave Monoceros one look over to make sure he wasn’t going to, you know, fall over and die, but he looked like he could at least make it out to get some help.
Michel wasn’t going to claim to completely understand what was going on, but whatever. He served his purpose, and hopefully that meant Monoceros was actually going to purify and wasn’t just leading Lysithea on.
…If he was, Michel wouldn’t pull his punches next time.
