It was nearing that point in his travel cycle again.
When he had not comfortably slept for weeks due to sheer paranoia and the necessity of always needing to be on alert. On his wonder, he could sleep for nearly a full day to recuperate from the significantly longer periods of time when he wasn’t on his wonder. Nothing would harm him there because hardly anything existed there (besides the mystery of the ashen spot, but nothing treacherous had come of it, yet).
Contrarywise, nowhere and no time was safe in Destiny City, so Antisana had simply relegated himself to always being on guard, keeping to himself, resting in fleeting bursts. He was comfortable enough to say that he had friends now, who he could rely on if he was desperately in need, but… he did not want to overburden them without reason. His troubles should not be their troubles.
He did not make it a point to reach out to them unless he thought he could not bear not to.
So even if he was exhausted and dragging his feet at every step and hopelessly ill-thought due to fatigue, Antisana keep to himself. He’d slunk out of the most populated regions in town, finding a woody area off the highway to sort of set up “base” through the dark of night. His own home was becoming more and more off limits. He was comfortable there; any easy find and an easy target. But maybe it was just exhausted bad decision making that sent him as far from civilization as he could manage.
He reasoned anyone else would be less likely to be dragged in, but…
He was less likely to have anyone he called reach him in a timely manner.
Because there shouldn’t be anyone out here. Nothing should be out here. This was the safest place for him. It had to be.
Antisana didn’t want to draw excess attention to himself, so calling it a “base” was gratuitous. He’d bought a thin, summer sleeping bag to keep crammed in subspace alongside a few other trinkets (like a peculiar bobbing wisp in a jar that seemed to hover next to him until he'd contained it- didn't know what it was, but it didn't seem safe to leave it anywhere) and rations, and he pulled it out now, flattening it to the earth beneath a large pine. Even dark, the temperature was sticky-hot. He could see bugs fluttering and crickets chirping, though there was only moonlight and starlight to see by. He could endure bugs if he was only able to shut his eyes for a few minutes undisturbed…
But just a few minutes. He knew the youma would find him, even on the city’s outskirts. Whatever beacon was on him didn’t seem to care where he was. But it would be just a few minutes, just a few minutes… And so long as he stayed powered, he would sense them, even with his eyes closed.
Just a short rest. Antisana needed it.

The thing about Meridiana was that as a person of high class, she was a firm believer in working smarter, not harder. Some might wonder what that entailed and she’d simply offer a secretive smile. Her methods were her own and it would not bode well if others partook in similar activities; such as draining allies so that they could rest easier at night. Granted they had given her their consent before performing such an act. Other times it meant going on dates with civilians; hiding her corrupt marks and removing her tiara. A few other adjustments to her uniform were sometimes necessary but otherwise, it was passable in some of the fine dining establishments. Normally, when dinner ended, she politely declined any offer to take her home and insisted that she get an uber. On one hand, it was a means to keep her powered identity and civilian separate, but mostly because follow-up dates were an incredibly rare occurrence. This evening, however, was one such rarity that the man she was seated next to was someone she had seen a couple of times over the last few years. Unlike the others, he was far more insistent that he take her home and eventually she obliged his request. As such, she had been powered up when they were being chauffeured down the highway when she sensed a curious aura retreating into the woods on the other side of the barricade. Curiosity had her head turn in its direction, but all too soon they were well outside of range. The rest of the drive was uneventful, mostly spent in idle conversation about his new business venture and the politics behind securing a loan to finance the project. Playing ignorant was tiresome but she was skilled in letting other people drawl on about their passions so that she didn’t have to fill in the gaps of silence. Eventually, she and Stephen parted ways. She was left standing under the entrance eve for a Hilton Hotel while her date was driven to the airport. Only when she was sure that he wasn’t going to turn back did Maridiana begin walking away from the hotel towards the sidewalk where she continued on down the street until she could find a place without cameras to teleport away unseen. Her destination was a little foggy since she’d only caught a brief glimpse of the exit sign they passed. But fortunately, when she arrived, tall grass brushed against her ankles; how ill-fated it would have been if she had reappeared on the highway instead. From where she stood, the aura could not be felt, but she was certain it had been moving away from the main road. And so, as an added precaution, she activated her medallion. No longer did it hide her aura complete, but it did at least make her appear to be no more than a basic senshi; diminutive in power and not capable of much. Deceitful, yes. But it was perhaps the only thing that kept her safe in a world where the White Moon tended to attack first and ask questions later. For many minutes Meridiana wandered along unmarked trails until finally, she felt the distinct aura of a Page. Granted, they might actually be a Squire if they had the same gift she had, but Meri liked to believe her medallion was special. Cautiously she approached all the while expecting them to bolt at the initial realization that they were not alone. But the aura didn’t stir even as dried leave crunched beneath her careful steps. Ahead of her is where she had spotted him; the tall handsome man resting peacefully upon a sleeping bag. Soft beams of moonlight filtered through the pine trees above him speckling his form in an otherwise otherwordly glow. By comparison, if he were standing, the Page of Pluto would no doubt tower over her easily but that was not enough reason for her to push aside her curiosity. Each step was measured, and calculated carefully until she stood close enough to kneel beside him. His skin, a deep umber with warm undertones, stood out in stark contrast to her own pale tones. If sleep is what you need. Meridiana brushes his silken purple bangs to the side as she skillfully siphoned energy from his sleeping form. Then I will stay vigil and watch over you until you wake.Without thinking much about her actions, the corrupt leaned forward and pressed a kiss to his forehead before shifting beside him so she could slide a well-manicured hand beneath his head so that he may use her lap as a pillow instead of his arm that would get sore after a while. She hummed a nameless melody while running practiced fingers through his hair; the same way she used to care for Noctura or Arabia. Their situations were much the same as this one, so much so that she wondered if they were the reason she felt so daring. Enough time had passed since either asked for her aid that all she wanted was to feel somehow needed or useful to someone, even if they did not ask for it.

In none of his carefully thought out plans would Antisana have ever imagined an actual person giving chase for him so far from the city proper. A monster? Sure. An instinct-driven beast would go toward anything that called it. A human, who had to expend actual effort and decision-making abilities to actively choose to seek him out? Surely not. It was too much work for one page. Though maybe something about him being alone and weak (no magic, barely a weapon) was particularly tempting. Regardless, he had not expected a human.
There were... annoyances in the night that he needed to filter out to be comfortable: the heat, the pollen, the way fluttery insects alighted on him. The tickle of stray grasses against his bare skin. The fronds were long here, easily reaching over the edge of his sleeping bag to find him.
But there were comforts too. The wind felt nice, bringing with it the warm scents of summer foliage. The leaves rustled in an almost merry jingle, a backdrop to the thrum of cricket song.
Indra had never been an outdoorsman in the strictest sense of the word, hadn't really enjoyed it ever, honestly. But Antisana liked it in the dark, in the relative solitude. It was a different brand of "outdoors" than his cave, but enjoyable in its own way. He was comfortable in the moment. Warm, but not overheated. Tired, but relaxed, settled peaceably atop his sleeping bag. Dark lashes gave a little flutter, as if they may open, but not quite enough. He inhaled deeply through his nose, head canting back slightly to enjoy the delicate touch ghosting through his hair.
On his exhale, he became aware of the deeper intricacies of the moment.
A scent he didn't recognize, a body that hadn't been with his previously, the oppressive jab of a chaotic aura right on top of him, practically smothering him: one of those annoyances his mind must've filtered out on its approach. Rationally, he should do nothing. Draw no extra attention to himself. If he wasn't confined or restrained (and he didn't think he was), there was no reason not to use every second of surprise to his advantage. He would need those seconds to get out of here.
But immediate instinct beat out rational thought, and his whole body tensed the second he had even an inkling of what was with him. He expected she felt it and was aware before he even opened his eyes.
He jerked to the side, anyway, rolling off of her in a flurry as he lurched up- he could not stand. His muscles refused. His eyes remained very slightly unfocused in the dark. Antisana surrendered the thought of fleeing almost immediately. It was obviously beyond him. Even through the daze of his mind still trying to fold the pieces into place, he felt confident that she must have been taking his energy. Of which he simply did not have the reserves to give.
The Negaverse did not have goals he understood. He knew they harvested energy, though for what, he wasn't sure. Know they could take- and would take, if given the opportunity- his starseed. He expected that was her objective: to drain all his energy until there was no fight left and pluck his starseed from his chest before he had even woken to argue about it.
More with his weight than with any strength he had, Antisana shoved forward, pushing her back into the tree and bracing his forearm over her throat. "Who are you? What are you doing?" He demanded softly.

“Meri,” she replied since he had no need nor use for her full Senshi given name. “And I feel as if I should be asking you the same thing.” A delicate eyebrow raised in his direction. “But, for the sake of conversation, I’ll humor you and answer since you asked first.” “It was only by happenstance that I notice you out here. I can’t say I’ve ever felt an aura right off the highway before, so I became curious.” In the back of her mind, Meridiana wondered if he might have been having a secret meeting with others of his faction. “I must say, it came as a surprise to see that you were alone.” He could have easily been a trap and she so willingly fell for the bait. But it looked like the heavens smiled upon her, at least this time. “I could have left you alone,” She looked up at him, head canted to the side while her calculating sapphire eyes roamed over his deliciously chiseled form in an almost appraising fashion. A small smile of approval tugged her red-painted lips when her eyes finally locked with his. “But I decided, for tonight, you’re mine; nobody else can claim you. Unless I called out for it, nobody else would have bothered you this evening.” “So-” Meridiana paused a moment to let her words sink in. “I’ve answered your question. Perhaps now you might feel inclined to indulge my curiosity and tell me why you’re out here alone.” He could be homeless, but she very much doubted that was the case.

His eyes narrowed, the corner of Antisana's lip tugging down into a faint grimace. Why did she care what he was doing, so long as he wasn't harassing anyone else? No one was here. He wasn't plotting against the Negaverse or scheming with anyone. He was sleeping. If she'd just used her eyes, she would've seen as much. And if she was decent, she wouldn't have seen any reason to track him down and bother him about it. But, no. Their kind of course had to go seeking people to bother.
Just beneath where his arm braced over her chest, a quick flicker of his gaze away, Antisana could see the cracks in her skin, deep and inky black. He had never so much as seen a corrupt before, and as soon as his attention was drawn to the cracks, he wondered how she could possibly not realize how broken she was? The sign of it was a physical manifestation on her skin.
But people like her probably didn't care, he supposed. They were thieves and murderers.
Despite her breezy, conversational tone, Antisana did not release her, doubted he could trust anything from her mouth. "No one would have bothered me if you had not bothered me," he bit back at her, gaze falling sharply again, assessingly. He was looking for her hands; watching for her hands because it would be so easy for her, even a Basic Senshi, to reach for his chest.
...It was just that other things were in between his eyes and her hands, rising and falling with her steady breathing. 'Meri' did not seem even slightly phased by him, and Antisana felt dizzy, winded from the nap he hadn't gotten to enjoy and the energy she had already sapped from him. Could she call for others here? He didn't know what kind of sway a weak senshi had among Negaverse ranks, but if she did, and literally anyone answered that call, he'd be dead.
...He'd probably be dead if she felt like it, regardless. There was no telling what her magic could do.
Warily, as if in a great show of his faith, Antisana leaned off of her, settling back on the balls of his feet as he watched her through calculating slate eyes. He was... not well enough to put up any type of resistance that would help him more than hurt him. No reason to act aggressively and incite retaliation if he was unable to hold his own. But he did not trust her enough to actually admit his weakness, regardless of how well she could see it. If the Negaverse didn't know about the people their youma tracked, he wasn't going to tell her "I prefer to be alone."
He did not prefer to be alone.
"If there is no one nearby, there is less chance of additional victims during any scuffles-" He spat the word at her. "-that may arise."

“Scuffles?” Her tone seemed a little surprised if not a bit confused. Clearly, he was accustomed to being ambushed with his guarded stance. Even if his general awareness was somehow lacking, no doubt due to exhaustion but that was beside the point, the Pages’ reaction was quick, especially for someone she had siphoned a small amount of energy from. Meridiana hummed thoughtfully. With an outfit such as the one she wore, Meridiana was not equipped to fight anyone. What she lacked in speed or strength was made up by her charisma; if that failed, however, there was always her magic to fall back on to disarm him further. “I believe you’ve miss read the situation.” In one graceful motion, she rose to her full height; petite by normal standards. A lady of manners who cared about how she presented herself, Meridiana brushed her hands down the length of her dress; smoothing out wrinkles while dusting off bits of dirt and pine needles that clung to the heavy fabrics. “It is not my intention to hurt you. I was merely curious” She could leave. Should leave… As the Page stated, he wanted to be alone. But she had walked all this way and quite frankly, she did not want to be alone right now. “If I was able to find you this easily, it’d only be a matter of time before someone else picked up on your aura and found you sleeping. They may not have been as kind as I have been.” A sword or spear thrown from a distance would have ended him before he’d had a chance to roll out of the way. “It’s noble of you to come out here to protect others, but you leave yourself vulnerable.” White Moon Senshi and Knights were unable to teleport freely as she could. At a moment’s notice, nobody would make it here in time to save him. Whereas, if she so much as made a simple call she could have Dravite or even Axinite here in a matter of seconds. Well, the General King might simply summon her to him instead which would work well too.

The senshi stood, and Antisana felt immediately threatened, still crouching on the ground as he was. He wanted to do the same, but there was a dull sort of resistance from his body. He didn't have the energy to expend on pride, on standing up to her if he didn't have to. His expression tightened just a fraction, brows pursing and lips thinning, but he stayed low. It wasn't like Antisana had any way of fending her off regardless of who was standing or not; though he supposed any vitals he would punch for were now slightly more out of reach, even if she was petite.
She proclaimed she was not here to hurt him, but Antisana was very obviously unconvinced by this. His gaze flicked assessingly up and down her frame, wary.
"I never expected anyone powered up to be close enough to sense me," he admitted. There were no parks around here, no walking trails, no residential areas, no shopping districts. The Negaverse wouldn't have any reason to expect to find any targets out here, was what Antisana had hoped when he chose to rest out in the woods. But here she was, standing in the tall grass beneath a pine canopy. She'd said she'd felt him off the highway, from a car, presumably. "Why were you powered up while driving?" Specifically looking for people who didn't want to be found?
Or was it more common than he expected for them to patrol the outskirts of city limits? Less people for them to drain from, but if they had the number to do so, why wouldn't they secure as much area as possible? It very well could be unsafe in every part of the city for a Knight to try and remain unseen.
His scoff was soft, but dismissive. He was vulnerable regardless of where he went. He didn't have a weapon, couldn't freely escape a fight, and none of his allies could appear at his side instantaneously even if he was in the city proper. "It is probably common practice for a page to only power up to go to their wonder to negate all of their vulnerabilities." Minimal chance of giving their location away with the aura while in the city. ...Just not something Antisana could afford, since he couldn't sense youma without being powered up.
"I just need it more often than that," he muttered.
And he didn't think he wanted to give away any more information than that. It was already plenty for her to know that he was out trying to avoid people and "needed" to power up often. Even if she wasn't immediately aggressive, Meri was hardly an ally.
He huffed, and shuffled to the side enough to brace his shoulder to the tree he'd been sleeping under and sliding into a sit, one leg extended and the other crooked up in front of him.

Regarding him from where she stood only a few feet away, Meridiana hummed thoughtfully. His question remained unanswered, however, as it was none of his concern as to why she had been powered while in a vehicle. He shifted, and her eyes narrowed ever so slightly. A pang of worry struck her as she wondered if he had enough of an energy reserve left to put up a fight if she approached him again. Her head canted to the side ever so slightly as she considered her options carefully. What she said before still held true. Meridiana was not out here to harm him, and yet- “If this is something you need then-…” The corrupt Senshi reached out with her right hand, as a golden handle appeared before her. Slender fingers curled around the ethereal hilt and when she grabbed hold of it a whip appeared, the length of it coiling on the ground beside her in a ribbon of magic. “Eyes on me,” she spoke in a sultry tone before swinging the whip overhead and snapping it beside her. The weapon did not linger and disappeared near immediately. Meridiana did not remain idle, she did not wait to see if the magic took hold. With confidence she approached him, her gaze unwavering as she lowered herself beside him again. In times past she may have simply blown him a kiss, or perhaps out of kindness only kissed his cheek. But for what she was about to give him, she wanted more than a chaste innocent peck. Meridiana’s hand fanned a crossed his chest and she felt muscles beneath her fingers tensed, as she knew they would, but she paid his reaction no mind. Heavy skirts pooled around her as she leaned forward, capturing his lips with her own. In her other hand she felt the energy orb begin to form, stealing from him more than she had taken previously. A heavenly scent of spice and pine. The Senshi of the Succubus wanted more, perhaps even needed but he would not be the one to give it to her, not willingly anyway. Even so, she snagged his lower lip as she reluctantly pulled away. Her hand slid upward where her thumb brushed over a scar on the side of his neck; a burn maybe? No- a bite. Curious… not enough to ask however. Didn’t matter, wasn’t likely they’d meet again after this anyway. “If solitude is what you desire then I’ll leave you with this.” Meridiana moved to lift the medallion from around her neck and when it was lifted over her head, her aura shifted, became stronger even. The peculiar item was then placed over his head and settled around his neck. The warm metal that had been hidden beneath the fabric of her dress now stood in stark contrast against his own dark umber skin tone. His own aura now non-existent. “Do not worry about trying to return it, it will return to me when the magic has been spent. Beside him, she placed the orb of energy she’d taken before standing up. “Just know, I could have kept you safe if only you allowed me to stay.”

At no point in their interaction had Antisana ever trusted that this woman wasn't hanging around for a clear opportunity to do him harm, and the handle of a whip appearing in her hand only justified his assumptions. A senshi that could manifest a weapon, though... That was dangerous, even if a whip was hardly as lethal as a blade. Rather than more apprehension, his brow furrowed in inquiry. The crack of her spell did little to draw him; Antisana was already unwilling to give her anything but his full attention.
His palm fisted in the grass. His weight tipped backward. Flight was on his mind regardless of the fact that it seemed too futile to justify it. The other option was probably to punch her, and- his shoulders tensed, slate eyes fluttering down her figure- And he definitely thought it would get him somewhere. She was too slight of stature to take it standing.
...Just seemed a little unmanly, to punch a beautiful woman.
Probably more reasonable to break her wrist, to keep delicate fingers from fanning over his chest, over his heart, almost undoubtedly reaching for his starseed- But he couldn't move to harm her. It felt like the thought formed in his mind, yet the appropriate signals simply weren't reaching his appendages. His teeth grit, he exhaled sharply, his eyes shut. Too weak to run, but physically incapable of fight. Then the senshi's lips found his. Some distraction tactic, probably?
To keep him from noticing what? Or doing what? He could hardly respond, anyway, unable to move, as he was- No, wait. It wasn't a matter of being unable to move. His hand slid up around the side of her neck, tangling into the loose waves of her hair and holding Meri to him while his tongue slid against her lip.
Because honestly, what did he have to lose from it? She'd initiated, and if she was going to kill him, what harm was there in gleaning whatever fleeting joy he could out of the situation? Her skin soft and supple against his, warm breath mingling with his as Antisana tugged faintly at her hair to coax her head to tilt. Wisps of red fell in waves to tickle over his shoulders and chest. It was when he tipped forward to follow her retreat that he became more acutely aware of the additional energy she'd siphoned out of him.
If nothing else, she was at least intent on doing that.
He fell back against the grass, as if unable to support his own weight. Antisana watched with guarded, though weary, intensity as she lifted some bit of jewelry from around her neck. Meri's aura flared almost immediately, rivaling Eleonora's in a way, though his friend's aura lacked the oppressive nature of Meri's. A snap was on his tongue that he had expected some deception from her, but as the medallion slipped over his head and brushed against his skin, he understood innately its properties. Deception was pretty much its only game.
"Why are you doing this?" He demanded, accusatory, narrowed gaze on the wispy orb by his side more than the woman.

“Why?” Meridiana gave his question thoughtful consideration, while weighing the implications of each reply she could have given him. “Why indeed,” she replied as her gaze roamed over his prone form greedily. She had expected nothing from him and yet-his reciprocated actions had left her wanting. A hand raised as she touched her lip with a slender finger, a light caress, much gentler than his young had been. Her lust filled gaze drifted down to rest on the hand he had laced through her hair and held her close. Only one other had touched her in such a way and like then she wanted to feel that fluttering feeling, the excitement of feeling desired by someone. Dare she attempt to steal from him another kiss, forgo magic and hope to be held like something precious? No- She locked gazes with him and knew that from his narrowed gaze and snarled demand that the Page would snap her neck if she dare tried. “You would not be satisfied with any answer I could give you. And even if. You were- I doubt you’d trust me anyway.” “I didn’t lie when I said I was curious. And yes, that curiosity has been satiated.” Only slightly, however. If anything she felt more sure that her Sphere played a larger role in her actions than she previously accepted. “I thank you for your assistance.” A cryptic lie simply because she had no desire to explain herself least he offer compensation in the form of another embrace.

He'd interpreted her curiosity to be toward why there was a powered aura so far removed from the city center and nothing deeper than that. 'Curiosity' didn't explain the medallion settled over his chest that shielded his aura. It didn't explain the purply energy orb by his side that she had left for him to reclaim- some kind of trap? He didn't understand how. Antisana was already practically immobilized. There wasn't anything he could do. He hadn't called anyone to help him.
His brows furrowed. His slate gaze wondered down to peer at the golden metal as his thumb lightly traced the edge of it. What assistance had he given her? Meri could hardly blame him for mistrust and wariness. She had ambushed him while he'd slept. Had magicked him. Had stolen the energy out of his body.
He was just waiting for the follow-up.
"I do not understand," Antisana admitted quietly, tilting his head back to pin her with a judging, yet inquisitive gaze. Any answer would be better than no answer. It would be something to work with. Why was she doing this? If it was a ploy to glean information out of him, Meri was sorely out of luck. He was just a page who spent an exorbitant amount of time on his own. He didn't know any of the White Moon's workings. Only knew a small handful of those in its ranks. She was wasting her time if she wanted anything useful.
Waiting for the chance to corrupt him? Well, this would be it, certainly- and if not now, then when he was sleeping. He lay his hand over his chest, eyes narrowed. "Then, what are you trying to achieve with me?"

“I am as I was made to be.” Cryptic, but true. “Senshi of the succubus,” she bowed almost mockingly. Conveniently leaving her name a mystery as he had no need to know it. “A being of lust and desire, only deserving of a fleeting moment and nothing more.” Her heart wrenched knowing the truth was more real than she’d like to acknowledge. Never would she know the feeling of being truly wanted. Love would remain a foreign concept so long as she continued to devote her evenings to her craft; working smarter, not harder. Lure targets in with promises of a good night only to take from them their energy, star seed if they got violent but that had yet to happen and for that she was thankful. But every meeting ended much the same. Alone, with the prize of a golden orb. “I do what is expected of me, nothing more. That-“ Meridiana gestured toward the orb beside him. “It is extra.” She had met her quota before following after him; the small amount she took originally was kept but that which was taken through the use of her magic was returned instead of stowed away with the rest. “I am not interest in gaining the attention of any Sovereign.” There were only two reason to have them look her way; punishment for a severe lapse in judgement, or to place upon her more responsibility which she was not interested in. “And I can at least see the bigger picture and know that is an inevitability that we will find ourselves fighting together against a common enemy. I’m no fool and know that my usefulness will be less than most and will need to rely on Knights, like yourself, perhaps stronger ones more so, and agents.” More often than not rocks were thrown by most corrupts and White Moon Senshi, a default weapon since magic was limited and normally had its own time and place for its usefulness. “If sleep is what you need than use that for now. Find your own if you can now that you know of its existence.” She knew others had one like hers, such as the eternal corrupt that signaled the ambush. “I’m not interested in killing you or taking your starseed. I’d much rather forge an alliance with someone I can rely on later.” The corrupt hummed, canted her head to the side and smiled. “How does that sound for a reason? Are you satisfied with that or would you rather I fabricate something else more believable? If the latter, I will require compensation.” Meridiana caught her lower lip between her teeth, intent very clear if he wanted to continue this conversation.

Most of what Antisana knew of senshi had come almost exclusively from Eleonora. He couldn't say with any ounce of certainty how definable the relationship was between a senshi's personality and their sphere. Eleonora's was Heat, and she did have a warm and honest demeanor. ...But he could just as easily have said that a tumultuous and feisty behavior was befitting of her powerset. She could probably act in any manner and it could be 'like her sphere.' Probably not the best example.
But he felt reasonably confident that anyone could say the same. Anyone could find something about themselves that they had decided must come from their sphere, even lust, desire, or- What? Fear of commitment? So he felt justified in leveling her with a steely look and murmuring, "That sounds like an excuse."
An excuse to flit about through the night, stealing kisses and energy from strangers, getting a thrill off it, and blaming it on her sphere.
And then expecting people to feel sorry for her over her unwillingness to seek anything more significant, an unwillingness to own her actions- or change them, if she didn't like them. Little did Meri know that Antisana was not the person to go to if she was seeking pity. Particularly since he was the one on the ground, staring up at her after having just been selected as her victim.
"Forgive me for not fawning over a woman who stole from me for no reason besides she 'felt like it.'"
The orb of energy that she'd gathered during her magic was still beside him, but she'd been stealing from him before that. While he was sleeping, and he could have so easily just not woken up. Ever, if she'd felt like it. Antisana wasn't inclined to trust her regardless of her bizarre behavior with the kiss or the medallion. "If it is extra, you should have left it inside of me," he muttered, shifting slightly to tap a finger through the wispy, purple 'surface.' If she wasn't going to take it, she gained nothing from the spell.
"I think there is a good chance you have wasted your time here," he continued. Partially because he was not inclined to work with those infected with Chaos and had never had a reason to, yet. And partially because his usefulness in any fight was probably well beneath hers. He'd been among those throwing rocks at the Chaos seed on Erytheia, with no magic or weapon to speak of. And... that seemed unlikely to change. Antisana was under no impression he would survive long enough to be stronger in any useful sense. "If I successfully made it to the point where I could use magic, and for some reason agreed to spend it on your benefit, I would still have significantly less damaging ability than any agent. You are better off relying on your own ilk."
Other selfish thieves and murderers. ...Maybe there was a point to her wanting outside help after all. There probably were White Moon who would feel obligated to help her and protect her. Antisana just wasn't among them.
He glanced down at the medallion again, felt the magic it held. Did it work on youma? Impossible to say. He didn't know that he was actually safer wearing it, but there was a peculiar comfort to it that made Antisana glance back to her and murmur a quiet, "Thank you," to Meridiana, regardless of whether or not he trusted her. Which he didn't. "I am satisfied enough with your answer, though I think it is as likely to be a fabrication as not. I do feel reasonably confident that your goal is not to immediately kill me, or it would be done already. Or to corrupt me, for the same reason."
Didn't take torturing for information off the table, but he wasn't going to mention that.
"If you are unhappy with what you are doing, and you are uninterested in your superiors perceiving you, and you are uninspired to kill or hurt, why are you doing it?"

“Because at the end of the day it doesn’t matter what side I’m on. Order is orderless; you have no reliable leader.” She paused, her memory flickering to the princess who had purified not one, but three people on an active battlefield. Her name was largely unknown by Meridiana so she assumed that the Princess had a smaller following otherwise more would have tried protecting her. There was a Prince there as well but he seemed less of a leader than she did. Whereas in each corner there had been a Sovereign there overseeing the ambush. Although she didn’t want their eyes upon her, there was a level of safety there that Order simply didn’t have. Plus… it was hard to forget what Zinkenite had done for her; it would be a spit in his face if she defected so easily. Still- there were times that the idea had been tempting. “At leat with our hierarchy, I know someone will come if called.” Hatsya, certainly. Dravite, most likely. Noctua, probably. A couple of others, surely- she just might know them by name. Albite… maybe not, she did kind of kidnap him after their battle and she wasn’t entirely sure where that left them. “That is enough questions for now- I think.” Meridiana gathered a fistful of her skirt and bowed before him. Not really a mocking gesture but she was sure that the Page would probably take it that way. “If we do meet again, I hope it will be on cordial terms.” It would be nice to not have to use magic on him just to feel safe enough to approach the Page. Lower rank or not, he was no doubt capable of harming her if she wasn’t careful. Her sapphire eyes gleaned brightly as her appreciative gaze swept over his form once more; and for a fraction of a moment, lingered upon his lips; definitely a good kisser, she’d give him that. Shame it didn’t last longer or that he wasn’t willing to engage in a second round. Next time maybe.“Rest well…” When the corrupt rose again she blew him a kiss.

'No reliable leader.' Antisana mouthed the words silently after she'd spoken them, and if he looked confused by the relevance of what Meri said, he chose not to give voice to it. But as someone who wasn't looking for an authority figure to command him, wasn't craving someone breathing down his neck making sure he was doing- whatever Chaos did: random assault, probably- he wasn't sure 'no reliable leader' was a sound reason. Particularly when she'd said moments ago that she didn't even want her leaders looking at her. There was safety in it, he supposed. Safety in the weave of their organization. And he would like the security of not being attacked by stray beasts at irregular intervals...
Presumably, no one touched by Chaos would be at constant odds with their youma, regardless of any curses on them... It wasn't like Antisana was a senshi whose presence would antagonize them regardless of which 'side' he was on. An agent would simply command the monsters to leave, and it would be done. His hand lay against his chest as he stared at hers, where the proof of corruption looked like dark, fractured glass against her skin.
It was a tempting thought, to be able to live "normally." ...At the cost of catering the the whims of whoever was higher up in the hierarchy. At the cost of losing both Indra and Antisana.
"I have someone who will come when I call," he answered back softly. She wasn't a sovereign. Wouldn't decimate anyone who stood against him, but neither was Antisana actively afraid of her. He didn't have to wonder if he could trust her, didn't have to expend stupid amounts of effort for the sake of a shady organization for her to think he was worth her time. ...Didn't need an excuse to call her besides, 'I'm lonely,' and he imagined if Meri tried that on anyone she called, she'd be likely to get scoffed at at minimum.
The corrupt moved away. She gave him a little bow, and just as she had been the one to decide when their interaction begun, she was the one to decide that it was over.
"Meri." Antisana was looking up at her from the ground as she righted herself. The whole meeting was still... Very strange. He didn't understand this woman at all. His gut told him to hate her. His heart didn't think she was the worst person who could've found him. He was still going to get up and leave the moment he was able, just in case she was sending someone else to finish what she'd started. ...But then she wouldn't have hidden him with the medallion. His expression was only neutral as he told her in a soft tone, "Next time, I will not be in a position to take anything laying down."
Then she left him there, laying in green grass with the chirp of crickets and rustle of leaves in the air.
