Night.
It was only a time of day; only a word. Yet it was with the coming of night that the war in Destiny City came alive each and every evening. Once upon a time Lacerta would have dreaded the encroaching darkness as she felt that her powers would be useless in a one-on-one scenario. Her sphere of bandages meant that in order to be used - one would have had to been hurt in the first place and that was something that she had never been truly comfortable with. If someone needed to get hurt then what was the purpose of being a senshi in the first place?
Her stance from when she was still a fledging senshi had changed over the years. Now she could understand how even if she was caught up in a battle, if she was careful with her choices - she could throw wrenches into the works by allowing her side to keep fighting on if it came down to that being needed. But the general rule of thumb that Lacerta liked to follow these days was not to get into these sort of confrontations in the first place. It was easier just to slip into the shadows, loose her wraiths on the unsuspecting populace, and then retreat. It was a simple and ideal way to help the court and hopefully not get noticed at the same time.
On this night Lacerta was less concerned about gathering a bit of energy for the court and more just aimlessly walking down one of trails in a park. She had been feeling more and more like something was just underneath the surface of her skin, itching to burst free. She just felt drawn to remain in motion. It was a strange sensation to say the least. It wasn't uncomfortable or unbearable - just different ... and distracting.

It had been quite awhile before he had become comfortable leaving Negaspace again. He had no intention of getting his hide chewed off by a youma again. Tama steered clear of them now. Such uncooperative creatures. Corrupted senshi and even certain agents he didn’t like to name were much easier to work with. And then there was the Dark Mirror. Now they were interesting. So when he felt a ping on his Mauvian radar, he quickly padded his feet over to the source. “Now… where are you going?” He purred inquisitively, trying to keep up with her footsteps. “Slow down. I can’t keep up with human legs.”☆

Lacerta's aimless wandering was brought to a halt by the voice at her ankles and the sense of another powered individual that had popped up on her radar. She glanced down at the ground in time to catch sight of a guardian cat with a cloak and glasses before arching an eyebrow. The cat's star was black and she sighed. There had been a question asked of her before the command to slow down had been issued and she gave the mauvian her complete attention before responding quietly. "I didn't actually have a destination in mind if I'm being truthful. I just felt like I needed to be active this evening. I'm sorry if my pace was too rapid for you to maintain. I can walk slower if it helps."
Lacerta was curious about what the black star indicated. Did this mean the feline wasn't of the white moon side? She gave herself a mental prod before speaking again, "What brings you out here at this time of the evening? .. Oh, I always forget about introductions. I'm Dark Mirror Lacerta, the super senshi of bandages. And you are?"

“Greetings, Dark Mirror Lacerta!”Tama trilled excitedly. Of course, he knew the Dark Mirror part. That was why he was uncharacteristically cheery. You see, Tama had only ever met one other Dark Mirror senshi before. But they had taken him to Mirrorspace and he was intrigued. Kind of like that time he had gotten really intrigued with youma…. well, maybe not like that. He had almost gotten eaten that time. “My name is Tama.” He seemed to be keeping up with her pace now, although he would occasionally have to jump a few steps to keep up. But with the mood he was in, he didn’t seem to mind. “Active? Is that usual for you?”He wanted to say ‘your kind’, but for some reason he was trying extra hard not to be rude. ☆

So this was Tama. She grinned down at the Mauvian before chuckling softly, "Greeting Tama. It's a honor to meet you."
At Tama's question of being active being usual, the bandage senshi had to think on that. It was true that she wasn't always this active. The wanderings at night had taken some getting used to but she had adapted quietly without much fuss and found that if she sent out her wraiths at least once in a while that she could put the night-time wanderings to some use for the court. Her gaze was pensive before she remembered the guest at her feet. Lacerta made sure that she would keep her pace in check as she answered the Mauvian's query.
"To answer your question I am active at times, but this is more a feeling of restlessness. I feel like I'm just bursting at the seams with unbridled energy. It's why I thought a walk would be in the best thing for me. I feel sort of keyed up but I'm not quite sure why, if you get what I mean?"
If Tama didn't undertand well that was alright. It was still just a nice thing to have company on this night. Lacerta peered down at the cat with frank curiosity before reining in the questions that she wanted to ask. For now she would listen if Tama wanted to converse.

There did seem to be an aura of energy around her that was a bit stronger than one would expect. Now that he was close, he could feel it. But what it was was only a hunch. He’d need more evidence than mere feeling. “Energy? Now that is something I can help with.” The cat questioned. Now these were terms he could understand, things he could test. “Could I get a demonstration of your magic?”His slitted eyes gleamed in the dark, knowingly. ☆

Lacerta paused for a moment as Tama asked for a demonstration of her magic. Well that would be a little awkward to explain without an injury present. She glanced down at the mauvian before biting her lip in thought. It wouldn't appear that this would work well if no one needed healing. Her gaze turned contemplative for a second or two before a sigh was heard.
"To watch a demonstration of my magic at work I believe one of us will need to injure the other. My sphere seems to be of a healing nature and without an injury to heal I'm uncertain what the magic would do. That being said if you felt you'd be comfortable with the idea..." here Lacerta paused before lowering her gaze, "you would be welcome to scratch me hard enough to break the skin. Then I could show you what my magic does."
It was a hasty idea but if no other injuries needed mending, how would she demonstrate her magic to Tama?
Did maybe the feline have an injury that needing a bit of healing magic? It was definitely a strange request to make of a guardian cat: to willingly hurt one of the same faction alignment. Just to see magic at work.

“Healing? Well, we certainly do need more of that kind of magic around here.”He had met many members of the Negaverse who had powers of the more… volatile kind. Finding a senshi who had a sphere that healed rather than damaged was a treat. Still, for a demonstration, he’d have to injure someone. “Well, in any case, I don’t know if you are quite sure of what you are asking. But very well. I want to see that magic in action.”Tama unsheathed his claws which had a black lacquer on them. “Sorry about this.”And he scratched her hand. Quote: Mauvian Claws: While Mauvian claws alone are generally stronger than cat claws, this enhancement gives them a little extra to fight with. All Mauvians who have unlocked this will get a small magical effect that activates when their claws come in contact with a target; the effects can last for ten seconds if the Mauvian is in their natural form or fifteen seconds if the Mauvian is in their humanoid or Senshi form.They cannot use this enhancement if they are in a civilian glamour. This ability activates after every scratch and has no max number of uses per battle. Magic must be sent to the shop mule for approval before it can be used but should typically have a modest effect that lingers, such as the scratched skin feeling frozen, burned, numbed, itchy, etc. The effects should fade after the duration expires unless the player wants to take extended damage from it. Each Mauvian should only have one magical effect; they should not have rotating effects, but a revision may be possible if they need to change effects. (Causes skin irritation and itchyness for the duration.)

Lacerta had been silently agreeing with Tama over the need for more senshi with healing magic. There were drawbacks to having such a sphere, mainly with having to hang at the back of any group in case such a skill was needed (but also for their own safety too) but that was beside the point. Tama had sought a demonstration of her magic. There were no injuries present at the moment so one needed to be created.
If her blood needed to be shed just a little so the mauvian could witness her power as it occurred well the sacrifice would be worth a little inconveniently placed pain. "Healing is all that I've been able to up til now so I should be ok."
She had crouched down as Tama unsheathed his claws and even as she made note of the strange black hue did Tama's claws make contact with the back of her left hand. Even as she bit back the sudden cry that wanted to escape her throat she pushed it down (as well as the surge of sharp pain) before gritting her teeth. She held her injured hand out for Tama to see the marks that had broken through the skin and caused blood to well up from the scratches. Her gaze narrowed on the four scratches that were beginning to swell before bringing her right hand over the area and whispered her stronger attack, "Lacerta's Miracle Growth!"
Even as the glowing bandage appeared and wrapped the injury did the young woman mentally give a sigh of relief. After the magic was through she allowed the mauvian to investigate the results. The wound was sealed adequately and almost appeared to be in the process of leaving faint scars as a result. Absently she scratched at the area before rising from her crouch. "That's what my strongest attack does. Kinda fascinating and useful and yet sometimes it's a downside. I always wish I could do more for those around me ... for my allies."Quote: Lacerta's Miracle Growth Lacerta will touch an injury on either herself or an ally and whisper her attack. A soft glowing bandage will appear and wrap the injury in a thin layer of bandage-like material. After twenty seconds the bandage will disappear. At this stage superficial bruises and cuts are healed rapidly (injuries from her sailor attack.) Larger lacerations (ones that go into the dermis), grade 1 sprains, and more significant bruises can be healed satisfactory. (( If a laceration goes further down into the skin than the dermis the magic will just stop the immediate bleeding ))

At first, the prideful Mauvian wanted to know what she had felt with his claws, but forced himself to refocus on the task at hand. He wanted to see here magic up close. Tama’s eyes didn’t leave Lacerta for even a moment. He watched her as she said the name of the attack. He watched the bandage form. He watched the wound heal. His violet eyes didn’t even blink. “While that attack is situational, it is not a downside.” He said and licked his paws nonchalantly. Then he looked her straight in the eye. “That is not your strongest attack.”☆

Lacerta rocked back on her heels for a moment before scratching at the area where the wounds had been. Her gaze took in Tama before she gave a small shrug of her shoulders. "I know it's not really a downside, healing that is. It is a valuable sphere to have on any team. It's situational as you said but beneficial to whomever is an ally of mine. I haven't really needed to use in much, mainly on myself but I hope that changes," and here she stopped as she registered what else Tama was saying.
"What do you mean, it's not my strongest attack?"
There was an kernel of understanding blooming in her mind but she wanted it voiced by this mauvian. Her gaze took in the clear sky above before she shifted to keep eye contact with Tama. What was he about to tell her?
Was he yet another mauvian that was going to bring change to her life? If so was she ready for it?

“That is not your strongest attack.” He repeated himself as if she hadn’t heard him. “I always say what I mean.”There was a certain playfulness in his voice as if he were enjoying himself quite a bit. And, in fact, he was. The cat had seen exactly what he wanted to see in the girl’s magic. And now she was inquiring, too. There were many things that indicated to him that a senshi was ready for more power. One was a feeling in their magic. Tama could sense magic just fine, though sometimes a demonstration of it was necessary. But a second was, as he had found, an interest. He’d never found a senshi yet that had not, even in the smallest way, had a yearning to know more. “Well, whether you know it or not, you are ready.” He eyed Lacerta as if waiting for her. “Your eternal magic is your strongest attack.”☆

Lacerta rocked backwards enough force at Tama's proclamation that she almost landed on her rump. As it was she managed to avoid that particular unflattering position by placing a hand at her side to steady herself before finding herself speechless. She recalled the night when Bernard had performed this role. He'd been almost straightforward in his approach but it also could have been because she had been a wounded senshi at that particular moment in time. So he had hurriedly upgraded her without too much pomp and circumstance. It had been a whirlwind encounter in which afterwards she had gone in search of Acubens.
Now though - she glanced inquisitively at Tama. So the inkling that had popped into her mind at the Mauvian's earlier phrasing seemed to be the correct assumption. It seemed as if she was ready to take on more power, to be an eternal senshi. She straightened out her stance before moving from a crouched position to sitting on the ground. It was not a dignified look, but she was comfortable and that's what mattered. "I think I am understanding what you are getting at now. You want to unlock the next level of power that I'm capable of."
Lacerta kept her voice surprisingly level as she spoke these words. Inside she was a little apprehensive of the result of what this night would bring but she knew that without a doubt that there'd be a lot of emotional outpouring from Rhona. It was just how she was. Recalling her henshin pen from her subspace pocket she looked it over before holding it flat out on her open palms. "Is there anything that you require of me Tama? I know that you need the pen for an upgrade but other than that ... I'm clueless."

“Yes. I do need the pen.” It looked like Lacerta knew what was coming now. Tama grabbed the pen in a paw and looked over it with a discerning eye. Pretty little things, these were. Unfortunately, he would need more. “I’ll focus on your starseed and the pen. It shouldn’t take too long.”He focused for a good minute and the star on his forehead glowed. “All done!”The Mauvian flipped the pen in his paws with fanfare, yet it did look different… but her uniform was still the same. ☆

With quiet reverence did Lacerta keep her gaze locked on the henshin pen that had gone through thick and thin with her. The symbol of everything she was and all the trials along the way were reflected in her pen. When Tama grasped it with a paw and looked it over she had to keep herself from reaching over and grabbing it back. This was a natural progression in her evolution of a senshi and she could only hope that in time she'd learn to be a better mentor for those that came after her.
As Tama concentrated on her henshin pen and the star on his forehead glowed bright did Lacerta feel the need to briefly shield her eyes. When the glow subsided Lacerta's gaze locked onto the new design of her pen but something still felt off. Lowering her eyes to the mauvian Lacerta sighed before speaking, "last time I was upgraded I had to drop my transformation for the new one to take effect, is that something that's needed to be done every time?"
There was a little bit of confusion in her mind now. Was she not ready for the eternal senshi stage after all? Had Tama miscalculated? If her pen changed but she didn't, would that mean if she dropped her powered guise would she be able to power back up?
"Tama, have you upgraded a Dark Mirror senshi before?"
