Continues from here

He didn't know how long he slept. Time was harder to keep track of without his typical methods for doing so. No phone, no watch, no clock in his powered state. It was probably especially difficult to keep track of time on Pluto, specifically, given its propensity for 'time' to be loose and ever-fluctuating here. As a creature of habit, it was likely he'd been out for a few hours, but Antisana secretly hoped his body had innately held some concern for Eleonora. Enough to keep him from dozing for too long when she likely wasn't comfortable enough to do so.

He woke with a blanket over his shoulders, and though he hadn't seen it but for a few moments before passing out, Antisana immediately recognized it as the one the senshi had pulled from her subspace.

Blinking his eyes a bit to adjust to wakefulness, he slowly pushed to a sit, peering around slowly as if he might catch the girl around the shelves or desk. She'd seemed to have taken some interest in the books- But no, she was laying at the other edge of the sleeping bag, with her back to him, goosebumps pricking up along her arms. She had seemed effected by the chill, and if the blanket over him was any indication, she must have worried for him. "...Eleonora?" He invited softly as he reached to touch her arm. She felt a bit chilled to the touch, but no response.

It pleased him an inordinate amount, to think that she was asleep, that she was comfortable enough to doze next to him, on a strange wonder, deep underground.

Antisana tried to silently shuffle from beneath her blanket. He took his side of the sleeping bag and wrapped it around her, layering Ele's blanket over top of it as he moved to her side and crouched low. He hadn't known what to expect of their arrangement upon arriving here. He knew that he needed a rest, but thought it would be rude to leave her. Likewise, he hadn't expected she would want to be left somewhere to wander alone through the dark caves. It had just... seemed natural that they would stay together in the most well-lit and open area of his quarters, even if it meant lying on the relatively uncomfortable cave floor.

But if she had fallen asleep and was content enough to do so, maybe it would be kind to situate her somewhere more comfortable?

"Come on, then," he murmured softly, wedging his arms beneath the sleeping bag the senshi rested on and lifting so that she was swaddled in a princess carry against his chest. "I think it is appropriate to have you somewhere more comfortable than the ground."

Past the entryway area, through a surprisingly large circular opening only partially concealed by fancy falling beadwork and curtains was what constituted as his bedroom in a past life. At the time it had been decorated with glimmering stones and beads, illuminated by luminescent plant and insect life. There was a semicircle of divots around the foot of his bed, where past Antisana had once watched the pools of Time. He may have considered it beautiful in his memory, but there was less life to bring the dark cavern vibrancy now.

He'd thought he remembered the dim glow of mushrooms returning on previous visits, but maybe he'd imagined it? Mistook part of a memory for reality? He wouldn't doubt it, but...

As Antisana stepped into the space, past the curtains, he was hit immediately with the smell of ash that brought him to a quick halt. And he knew that hadn't been here before.

Before falling asleep, Eleonora had no idea how exhausted she actually was otherwise she would have laid down when he had. Instead, she had stayed up a while longer lost in thoughts while looking through ancient texts she couldn’t read. Some had pictures or diagrams scrawled on pages but without context, she wasn’t sure what to make of it.

On a normal night, Ele was a sound sleeper. Creeks in the house went unnoticed as did neighbors mowing their lawns in the morning on a Saturday before it got too hot to be outside. However, it was worth noting that most sounds she was used to were white noise, a constant tone such as the pitter-patter of rain on the rooftop.

If she fell asleep with sound then the absence of it would wake her up; like when Fiona turned the television off after a movie had ended. But if it was already silent, then the sudden noise would wake her.

In this instance, Antisana had been quiet, moved slowly, and when he lifted her it was done in such a way that her exhausted mind didn’t register she was being moved especially since the scents that clung to him like a second skin were earthy, much like his wonder.

But then the smell of ash hit her and she shifted in his arms. Eleonora groaned as she lifted the edge of the blanket to cover her nose. Her slate-blue eyes opened and she looked around to see if she could spot the source of the ashen smell before looking up at the Page questioningly.

“That's quite the smell,” she commented quietly. "Was there a fire recently?" The lack of warmth, aside from his body so close to hers, was at least a clue that whatever had happened likely wasn't recent.

Eleonora shifted in his arms, but since she wasn't trying to actively disentangle herself from him, despite being awake and comprehending enough to speak, he elected not to set her to her feet. If she wished to be away from him, he would not fight her on it, but no reason to act abruptly until that time.

"I had thought you might be more comfortable in here than on the floor," he admitted. "I apologize for waking you." He'd frequently lounged in his old bed when he visited his wonder. It'd be a lie to say that it didn't need a little of an update to something newer and less broken down from time, but it was still significantly better than a stone floor. ...Provided it was void of any unsavory smells. Antisana didn't hate it: the ashy scent reminded him a little of camping. But it was unusual and unexpected. What would start a fire in an underground cave?

He did with his candles, when he was here. But they were always put out by the time he left, and even if he'd accidentally left them burning, why would the fire char the stone and not his bed?

He canted his head slightly, quizzical gaze roving over the soot-blackened walls, but only seeing the desecrated remains of the spindly glowing mushrooms that had grown there previously. "No fires to my knowledge," he admitted. "But Pluto is very strange about its observance of Time. Maybe it happened previously, and I am being made aware now. Or maybe I did leave a candle burning, but my wonder saw fit to return itself to an earlier state of being. Stranger things have happened." He didn't really have an entirely concrete grasp of what was or was not possible here. Things were growing now, as they hadn't been when he'd first arrived, so... why couldn't Antisana restore other things too?

He rolled his shoulders in a little shrug, and peered down at the girl from beneath his lashes, the corners of his lips just barely lifting as she tried to retreat from the foreign smell. Maybe it was a little amusing that the senshi of heat would recoil from an ashy scent.

The only thing that seemed burned and destroyed and dead were plants and stone. Nothing that couldn't be repaired, and nothing that stunk putridly.

"I am sure it is fine," he intoned quietly. "But if you are still resting, we can return to the main entry. Or if you are ready to go home..." It would be selfish of him to not at least offer, though the deeper tone of his voice may have implied that it wasn't his favorite option.
