The Fairies (7) : The City has been lit up for the Star Festival with banners and twinkling decorations strewn off the windowsills of shop fronts and windows. The gardeners at one particular park have put their heart and soul into creating a fairy's paradise: Fairy lights have been carefully dangled from trees to make strings of stars, little beaded jewels have been hidden among the hedges, and even the old cobwebs have been sprayed with just a touch of glitter. The park is open to everyone and the citizens of Destiny City have been invited to respectfully explore the hidden wonders that have been placed throughout. The park is magical enough on its own but there have also been reports of a strange, ethereal and shimmering stranger in the park. The glimmer of a beautiful costumed figure fluttering through the park has been passed around as rumor, and no matter what anyone claims to see, no one can take a picture of it. As if simply seeing some magical figure isn’t mysterious enough, there are also reports of mischief and small pranks being played at the same time this figure seems to appear.
Hyeon had brought his nephews, DaeSu and GeonSu, to the park nearby that had been advertising how they had decorated the park once again fairy themed. He could remember that it had been this way last year, though he hadn't personally gone to check it out. Now however, DaeSu had requested it because he had heard that there was an actual fairy that was hanging out in the park and rather then burst the child's bubble, Hyeon gave in and agreed to take the twins to the park. At least it meant that he got to spend some one on one time with them and it also gave Seung and Terry some time together.
As soon as they were at the park he watched as the twins ran from decoration to decoration, ooh'ing and aw'ing over them. He couldn't help but smile brightly when he saw GeonSu finding one of the hidden jewels and DaeSu excitedly cheering him on to find more. Even with the children running around, their over all pace through the park was slow and steady, with Hyeon reigning them in when need be to keep them from racing on ahead of him at any point of time.
He hadn't been keeping track of the time though he was sure at least an hour had passed when something unusual happened. There was a sound of a pop and suddenly confetti was raining down on top of the trio, much to the twins delight and Hyeon's confusion. He hadn't seen anything that could have popped above them to do that, there wasn't even any tree branches directly above them where a trap like prank could have been hidden. While he was studying the trees off to the side of them, DaeSu let out an excited yell which had Hyeon's head snapping to look in their direction.
"The fairy is here!" He had heard the cheer and tensed even as he turned to look in case there was trouble but all he found were two delighted boys and a figure disappearing in the distance through the trees. It had been fast, so fast that he hadn't been able to make out anything other then long hair and a flowing dress before it was gone from sight. Still it was enough to have him on guard, as their were plenty of powered that could easily look like fae and of course glamored beings could too.
Protective instincts arose in him and he started to shuffle the boys back towards the exit of the park. Along the way however there were a few more glimpse sightings and each time something would happen such as a glitter bomb that had just missed them, brightly colored balls almost tripping them as they rolled by, and more. Once the exit came in sight though the pranks stopped and so did the sightings of the 'fairy', much to Hyeon's relief. Thankfully it wasn't too hard to usher the boys back home as they were excited about telling their parents all about what fun they had at the park thanks to the fairy.
