Fireflies are mating, so this isn't uncommon in itself; in the past few days you've probably seen hundreds of fireflies. What makes these lights so unique is that they seem to change color; you might see a blue one, a green one, a red one. They flicker randomly, and something just seems off with them. If you come into contact with one, you will find yourself with a strange electric jolt. They cannot be caught, and will flicker away if you pursue too aggressively. This isn’t the first time they’ve appeared in Destiny City, but no one’s been able to tell where they came from or where they’re going. No matter how quickly you chase them, they always seem to disappear before you can find any answers. The summer was just too warm, but she was glad she had on a nice pair of shorts and a tank top. Her flip flops weren't bad either. Currently, Holi was in awe at the fireflies that were in mating season. While she would think that is somewhat gross, they were changing colors, like fancy live Christmas lights. She reached out to touch one and yelped when she felt something like a zap. With a small pout, she tried catching the one that seemingly stung her, but it was just too fast. "That wasn't very nice firefly...." Holi sighed, kicking a random rock out of place. She just wanted one to keep for home, they made some pretty light combinations.

"No, it's not very nice of them at all." Yukio had been wandering around watching the strange multicolored fireflies when he came across Holi doing the same. He'd tried earlier in the festival to catch one or two, only to have them evade his every attempt – and zap him for his troubles. It was very frustrating. But he was still keen on watching them and trying to figure them out. He approached Holi, a bit of a smirk on his lips. "I hope I didn't startle you, I didn't mean to," he said as he drew near. "Didn't know you were a fan of fireflies, Holi. Especially ones that are as interesting as these little guys."

Startled? Nope. Happy? Yes. Holi turned and gave Dj Buster a beaming smile. "No not at all! How are you? Buster?!" She was so excited to see the DJ again, "Yes! These ones are so cute~ I've always wanted to catch one, but I cant even catch the normal ones it seems. These ones are like an evolved form or something, like Pokémon~" She stopped herself before she could start to ramble, following a purple firefly with her gaze. That one was really pretty... "You would not believe your eyes....." She started to hum the rest, twirling as she went. This made her wonder if Buster ever did a remix of that song, she would have to check his YouTube channel. "Are you a fan of fireflies too?" She stopped twirling, tilting her head curiously.

"I adore fireflies," Yukio nodded. It took him a beat to remember that Holi only knew him as DJ Buster, and to his credit he didn't give her a quizzical look (or what would have passed for a quizzical look in his flat, deadpan repertoire of facial expressions) when she addressed him as such. "I tried to catch one of these, but they're pretty tricky, you know. And they do this weird electric shock thing. Never experienced anything like it." He watched her hum and twirl happily amongst the fireflies, thinking it was something of a magical scene. She was cute and seemed like a fun person; he'd have to visit the shop she worked at more frequently. "Wonder where these little guys came from… " he mused.

"I wonder that too~ They're just so...Pretty." She had to keep from touching one again, if Eliza was here she would be laughing at her inability to leave the poor things alone while Willie shook his head. "Maaaaybe they come from outer space?" Its not like it wasn't possible for aliens not to exist, she just met a big kitten a couple days back. She often wondered if he was okay, she did upset him after all. "Its weird that they shock you, normal fireflies dont do that." Or at least she thought they didn't. "Oh! Would you like a firefly hat?" She could make something with cool fairy lights of different colors! Even add on the tiny little wings too! "I could make you a custom one! Hmmmmn...." She tried not to get in his space, tapping her chin, "Could be a top hat! Oh that would be nice with some leaves and flowers....." Granted he could say no, but that wouldn't stop her from making one anyway, she would just keep it to herself and wear it for one of her streams~ "Oh wait! Maybe an outer space themed hat would be better? With the fireflies too?" She was still thinking about it, maybe she could do both?

Yukio almost smiled at the thought that the rainbow-colored fireflies were from outer space. It would make as much sense as anything else about them. Then Holi suggested making him a firefly hat, and he actually sputtered a small chuckle. "That would be kind of amazing," he replied, trying desperately to regain his cool, deadpan demeanor. "Any kind of custom hat would be amazing. Most of the hats I have are customized in one way or another." He tapped the side of his current hat, which resembled a floppy jester's hat in purple and gold. "Like this one. I picked it up at a Renn Faire and added bells to the ends of the ears." Retrieving the end of one of the dangly ears, he jingled it gently. "But yeah, if you feel the urge to make me a hat, I'd love that."

The hat was rather cool if she was honest. Holi beamed and nodded excitedly. "Alright! I will get started on it as soon as I get home~ Should be finished in about... Three days." Finding the perfect hat to act as a base for what she wants to do is going to be the more difficult part. Though she figured maybe some sort of military type like hat would do for the base rather than a top hat. Holi thought that would look nice with the Dj's pretty blue hair. "Ummm....Buster, what is your actual name?" She didn't know if it was appropriate to ask and would happily keep calling him buster if that's what he felt most comfortable with. However, she was used to calling her friends by their names.

Yukio was a man who couldn't resist something – or someone – cute. Cute was his kryptonite; all cute had to do was look at him with huge adorable kitty eyes and he was doomed. Cute could turn him into a puddle of candy goo and wrap him around their little finger. Holi was cute. Raising an eyebrow, he slid his ever-present little round shades down his nose a bit and looked at her with golden-amber eyes. "Yukio," he said, "but don't let that get around, okay? It's confidential, just between friends."

Yukio? Holi gave him a quick nod and made like she was sealing a zipper where her lips were. "You have my silence Yuki~" His name was obviously Japanese, but it seemed like it suited him. Narrowing her eyes a bit, she leaned in a bit now that she could see his eye color. The color reminded her of a cat, something she thought was awesome since cats were cute little things. "Your eyes are very pretty~" She leaned back, not wanting to invade the poor man's space anymore than he was comfortable with. "Goes very well with your hair color. Oh! Is that your natural color?" She's seen all kinds of natural hair colors in DC, from pink to gray. Even her hair was natural, with its strange Ombre coloring. Now that she has another friend to chat to, she was about to burst with questions.

Very coolly Yukio slid his shades back up and gave Holi a tiny little smirk, despite feeling like he was about to sputter out another chuckle. This girl cut right to the chase, didn't she? She was ridiculously cute, both inside and out, and he was having a hard time maintaining his cool persona around her. "Thank you," was all he managed at the eye color observation, and then she followed up with his hair, and he nearly lost it again. "Yeah, the blue's natural, don't ask me to explain, because I can't. I blame it on my Japanese mom, who looks kinda like a character from an anime."

Whoa! Now she wanted to see what his mother looked like. But maybe next time. For now, there was just one question burning in Holi's mind... "Could I....Braid your hair sometime?" As random as that seemed, she's wondered about doing Yuki's hair the moment they met at the shop. It just looked so cool and blue! Imagine all the trinkets she could place in it! Oh! What if she could turn him into a merman?! That would be sick! All the pictures would turn out amazing and then she could find some one to be like the female Eric and would be just like the little Mermaid cept Yuki would be wearing a nice merman hat to complete the ensemble. She might need to see if Willie and Eliza would like to do something like that as well. A reverse Aladdin? Nah, Willie would not take to being in some sort of princess role.

This girl was bold as brass apparently! "I've… never had my hair braided," Yukio said, an eyebrow going up. "It would be an adventure for sure…. Yeah, I'd let you do that, I think." She was cute. He'd let her do just about anything. He'd forgotten all about the fireflies, then one landed on his hand, one of the oddly-colored ones. He froze, eyes wide behind his shades, watching the little blue-glowing bug wander around on his hand for a moment. Eventually it flew away, blinking blue light as it rejoined the others. "Whoa. That was pretty cool. And it didn't even zap me." Yukio was pretty chuffed by that.

Give her an inch, she will take a mile. "Really?! When would be a good time?!" She could just imagine all the nice hair styles she could do! Maybe even put some trinkets in there? Ahhh maybe some nice flowers?.... When the firefly started to land on Yukio's hand, Holi paused and waited for a zap that never came. "What?!" she huffed and raised an eyebrow, "I guess if you just let them come to you then they wont zap?" A sound judgement, but Holi wasn't sure if she could wait for one to just decide to land on her. "Lucky...." She was trying her best not to pout but ended up doing it anyway. Maybe it was because Yukio was cooler?

"I guess so," Yukio said, watching the fireflies. "I guess if you don't chase them, they'll come right to you." He wished he'd known that when he was trying to catch one for himself; instead, he'd gotten repeatedly and soundly zapped for his trouble. "Um, hmm. Maybe next week? I think I'm free…" Pulling out his phone, he quickly checked his calendar. "Yup, no deadlines. No shows either, but whatever. When's a good time for you?" It didn't occur to him what braiding his hair might entail. Hanging out with a cute girl was what mattered.

Yeeessss! She was going to put ALL of the flowers and trinkets in that pretty blue hair! Holi tapped her chin in thought, "I am free in three days from now, would that be good? Here~" She opened up her phone and showed the screen to him, "Here's my number! You can text me!" she grinned and continued, "I can also give you my address if you want to meet at my place? I'm pretty sure my boss doesn't want me doing hair at work. Or! we could meet at your place as well~" Whatever he was comfortable with of course.
