Rifts (12) : Maybe it’s a trick of the eye. Maybe it’s a firework, or it’s too hot and you’re seeing things. Maybe something is actually just wrong. Strange tears are appearing throughout the city, as though something has clawed right through reality. Maybe you can’t exactly see it, but you definitely feel it. There are strange, cold pockets, and random air currents even in closed rooms. These strange rifts either appear transparent or, if you are close enough, you might see a strange blackness inside. Sometimes you can make out a strange sound, like a croak or a wail, but nothing ever comes out. There’s something magnetic about these weird rifts and it’s almost as if they’re trying to suck you up. They appear and disappear randomly, and quickly, and never show up on film.

Leaena was also in the area, and she sensed the thing as well, and she sent a text to her older brother and sister, and Dari, their Guardian Cat. Rules were rules after all. Drew aka Etamin, didn't answer - he was at work as a Police Officer - maybe he was arresting someone.... Dria aka Pasithee, also didn't answer... Oh that's right, Dria should be in the middle of an Exam right now. Dari sent a text from his computer in the Order Mauvian HQ (his suspension had finally been lifted from when he started that Catfight! Yay!) and said he'd do his best to get Etamin over there as soon as he could - which might take a while - as Drew was taking in a convicted felon that fled the law - oops Dari had meant to pass that on sooner.

Dani sighed. "Here we go again. Looks like it's up to me to save the day... " The last time this happened, she had left the beach covered in heavy bruising.

She made her way to the indicated area, sensing another Order Senshi there and found none other than her acquaintance from the other night, Sailor Lacaille! "Hey, it's you again! Good to see you, how are yo- er, what is that? Leaena asked, gesturing to the rift.

Hmm. Leaena started making observations - getting as close as she dared.... but only slowly moving forward, until she felt the effects. "Lacille - this thing has a light magnetic pull... well not just towards metal, but everything. I can feel it pulling, sucking at me trying to draw me in... but it's not strong enough. Good thing we don't have a Guardian Cat here - it would be especially strong on them..." her thoughts went to Dari, "and on Dari... and other Kittens would have no hope - they would be taken."

She stepped back out of its pull... "Hmm, it seems to be weakening - both the pull and the structure," she said, as she studied it. "It may be closing soon. However..." She paused, and carefully considered her words. "When I looked into it... I couldn't see very much ... except other rifts opening and closing ... rifts that seemingly lead to Destiny City!" She let this worrisome fact set in."

As Leaena predicted, the rift closed shortly after. She followed her new friend out of the alley and looked at her sadly - she was not a healer; she did not have a way with words that would help heal these wounds.

She sighed; all she could think of to say was. "Well, at least it's not boring..."

She wanted to crack a smile, but she didn't as she said, "It's definitely interesting living here, and I don't think Earth will ever be the same."
