The heat of summer bore down, and Mirzam found herself wanting to spend less and less time outside. But there was always work to do, and her desire to advance in the Negaverse was powerful and important to her. She wanted to prove Laurelite right. Wanted to demonstrate loyalty, capability, and power. And that, then, was why she hunted.

Just energy tonight--she wasn't eager to take a starseed. That was often unnecessary, and drew more attention than she wanted. But finding a civilian who looked at her and saw something pretty to chase, and putting her hand on his chest, and draining him until he collapsed? That was easy enough.

She dropped the civilian with little care, feeling the aura of a Page nearby and sighing heavily.

Troublesome. They always were. But she could handle whatever this was.

By now Spei was learning to tell the difference between different flavors of auras, especially those of the Chaos variety. He wasn't too good on the Order side of things yet, but he could at least tell if it was a Dark Mirror Senshi or a corrupt Senshi bearing down on him, thanks to his encounter with Murikabushi. He could also tell if it was a youma, those were pretty easy. Still no Negaverse officers yet, but really, in this town, it was only a matter of time.

Thus it was in the too-warm evening air that he felt the presence nearby of a corrupt Senshi. Yet another one. How was it he kept running into corrupt Senshi all the time? A little variety would have been nice. Interesting, at least.

The Moon Page began to run in that direction, looking to thwart whatever it was they were doing. He didn't have an attack or anything, but he hoped he'd have some effect.

Mirzam heard the Page approach, and turned to face him as he arrived. Her entire air was of nonchalance and disinterest, and she brought up her hand to check her nails as he came scooting in.

"You should really run along," she said, dryly. "I don't like playing with people weaker than me, it's a little bit unfair."

As if she wasn't more than willing to be unfair, given the opportunity. Oh well.

Her eyes flicked over him, and she wrinkled her nose. Far, far too pastel for her tastes, ugh.

"But if you insist on meddling, I'll be happy to teach you why that's a very, very bad idea."

She hoped he insisted. That could potentially be fun.

"It's only unfair if they're unpowered," Spei commented, gesturing to the fallen man at the corrupt Senshi's feet.

In another setting, she looked like she'd have been an interesting person – kind of had a goth Cthulhu vibe going on with her outfit. She could have blended in at any club he DJed at, and probably would be fun to club with. But she was what she was here and now. And that was the enemy.

"I don't want to fight," he said with a shake of his head. "I just want you to stop hurting people."

Mirzam cut her eyes to the unconscious civilian and shrugged. "Necessary sacrifices."

There was not a single ounce of remorse or regret in her tone, and she prowled forward, casually. Her attention was entirely on the Page, now, and she regarded him with some interest. He was certainly a bit of a spitfire, and she did like gumption.

"You don't want to fight? Then how do you intend to stop me? Are you going to try to appeal to my better nature? Tell me that I'm doing a terrible thing and I ought ot repent and come to the light?" She smiled.

It was not a pleasant smile.

It was the smile of a predator about to go for the kill.

"Let me save you your breath. I'm not interested. Bedlam Riot." She tapped her fingers against her chest her chest, and then gestured outward, smoke curling from her fingers.

Whatever her magic made him do, she expected it would be very interesting.

Quote:
Mirzam speaks the name of her attack, touches her chest, and then gestures outward at a target within six feet of her. Green smoke swirls from her hand to the target, and they are filled with a desire to cause chaos and bedlam--which can include attacking nearby civilians, breaking objects within reach, or any number of other things, including attacking Mirzam!--and if they resist the urge, they feel as if they are burning up from inside, like the rage is causing actual physical pain. This attack lasts for 25 seconds, and Mirzam can use it three times per battle.

Spei slowly began to back away as the corrupt Senshi approached, a predatory look on her face. "Why would I do that? I know I'd be wasting my time. I just want you to stop–"

And then a curl of green smoke hit him in the chest, and suddenly he was filled with pure punk rage.

His flat expression turned into a sneer, then a snarl. He wanted to beat the living s**t out of the first person he saw – and that happened to be the Senshi. Breaking into a dead run, he leapt to the nearest wall and lashed out with one leg, kicking and breaking the light suspended from it. He wall-ran toward her and landed just past her, and aimed a kick at her head.

"Now look what you made me do," he growled. "I hope you're happy."

Oh, yes. This was interesting. He was quick, and decisive, and Mirzam liked that. It was much more fun to play with someone who knew what they were doing.

The thing was, she was also quick, and when his foot came flying at her head, she snapped both hands up to grab his ankle, with the aim to get a good grip and throw. It would probably bring a swift and dramatic end to their encounter, if he landed right--or wrong, she supposed--but it was at least better than talking.

"Know your place."

He felt hands grab his ankle as he flew toward her head; suddenly he was whipped around and flung across the street. Spei's instincts kicked in and he rolled as he hit the ground, but he still skidded a fair distance before coming to a stop against a parked car.

"You must be a Super," he snarled, but even as he spoke the punk rage was fading. He quickly came to the realization that he was fighting above his weight class, and what was that punk feeling about anyway. It was better, under the circumstances, to live and fight another day.

Maybe as a Squire, with a useful weapon.

Slowly getting to his feet, Spei looked at the corrupt Senshi. "Nice move. I know when I'm outclassed. I won't trouble you any longer." He knew he wasn't made for combat.

And with that he bolted off into the warm night, hoping the corrupt didn't follow.

do we want to wrap, or do you want to beat on Spei a little more? XD
