The Fairies (7) : The City has been lit up for the Star Festival with banners and twinkling decorations strewn off the windowsills of shop fronts and windows. The gardeners at one particular park have put their heart and soul into creating a fairy's paradise: Fairy lights have been carefully dangled from trees to make strings of stars, little beaded jewels have been hidden among the hedges, and even the old cobwebs have been sprayed with just a touch of glitter. The park is open to everyone and the citizens of Destiny City have been invited to respectfully explore the hidden wonders that have been placed throughout. The park is magical enough on its own but there have also been reports of a strange, ethereal and shimmering stranger in the park. The glimmer of a beautiful costumed figure fluttering through the park has been passed around as rumor, and no matter what anyone claims to see, no one can take a picture of it. As if simply seeing some magical figure isn’t mysterious enough, there are also reports of mischief and small pranks being played at the same time this figure seems to appear.

Coco was out in the forest following groups of people looking for faeries she wondered if it was true and if she could catch one if it was true she wanted to see one and maybe they would come close to her since she was a little calico cat. She wasn't big so she moved easily through the forest. She watched as humans were attacked by acorns and sticks coming from nowhere. She giggled inside since she didn't want any civilians to hear her. She sensed a number of senshi and other factions also in the woods and she thought it funny since they were hunting faeries too.

Mel had no idea that there was an event going on, he didn’t really care. What he did care about was the fantastic smell of one particular group of people. Someone was lugging food around with them. Like a picnic or something! The large savannah cat stalked the group through the underbrush, only vaguely paying attention to the sparkly lights and the glitter that the event organizers put up. Heck he didn’t do more than mentally note that there were powered signatures around, granted he promptly forgot about it as soon as he noticed it. His mind was focused solely on the smell of fried chicken. Yummy, yummy fried chicken. It didn’t matter if it was cold, he could tell since hot chicken smelled so much stronger, because it was still mouth wateringly good. The main problem with being so focused on the picnic basket, and its owner, was that when he got beamed with an acorn he wasn’t expecting it. The guardian let out a yelp, more like a yowl, and spun around in place, searching high and low for the culprit. “Hey!” He hissed out when he got practically bombarded by acorns, sticks, and other plant matter. The guardian took a few pointless swipes at the air before he just took off running, still occasionally getting things thrown at him. He ducked and dodged, zigged and zagged. Mel could, and likely would, have kept going if he didn’t barrel right into something… or more accurately someone. A much smaller cat. Maybe a kitten. He didn’t know. All he knew was one second he was running from the thrown debri and the next he was tumbling into a bush with a rather loud, ‘ack!’

Coco was caught off guard when she was knocked into by a much larger force. She was confused and wasn't sure what was going on. She hissed and yowled in distress. "Hey what's the big deal!!" She cried out when she got separated from the other cat. "What happened to you?" She asked when she got a look at the other cat and how disheveled they were. It looked like they had been attacked by something. She wondered if it was true and there really were fairies in the woods and perhaps they weren't so nice. She didn't know much about fairy tales, but she had thought fairies were nice and sweet not mean and violent, but perhaps she was wrong. Since it looked like this guardian had been through the wringer this evening. "Are you alright?" She asked worried now that she got a good look at him and how messed up he looked. She was no longer angry about the situation. She was concerned that the other cat had been hurt and might need some help to deal with this problem. "Do you need some help? We could go hunt them." She suggested.

Mel detangled himself from the bush and gave himself a vigorous shake, like a whole body and soul shake. He shook himself so hard he was hit dizzy and had to sit down for a moment before his golden eyes focused on the little cat in front of him. It was a splotchy cat, one with lots of different colors, calico he thought it was called. But he might have been wrong. “What? Oh, nah I’m ok - ack! Stop it!” Mel ducked with his paws on his head when he got hit with another acorn. “Why me? Hmmm? Why me!” The cat growled at the tree tops. The guardian glanced over at the other cat and smiled, “I’m game if you are, especially if I can get whoever is throwing stuff at me,” he turned his face upward, “to stop!” Silence followed his statement, at least for a moment before something crunched and a stick fell right by his backside. It was a small stick and wouldn’t have hurt but still, it was just mean. “What did I ever do to you?”

Coco did her best to dodge the sticks and acorns that were coming at them. "Shish they really don't like you at all, let's go teach them a lesson for being so mean!!" She said rushing towards the trees and she went climbing up the tree and settled on the tree branch and looked around for the flashes of light and wings that would lead her to the figures who were attacking the other guardian cat. She was a sweet guardian cat and believed in kindness and order. So these creatures to her were total chaos and very rude in her opinion. She spotted one and jumped to another tree branch to attempt to attack the creature that had been attacking people below the entire time she had been walking in the woods. She wasn't sure why she hadn't thought to fight the little creatures until she met the other guardian cat, or perhaps it was because she had been too frightened to do it by herself. After all what if it was a youma that was little? That could be really dangerous and not something to try and face alone. She wasn't sure what they were but she didn't think they were youma.

“Yeah!” Mel crowed, even as he took a page from the smaller guardian. The large cat took a running start up the trunk of one of the nearest trees. His claws digging into the bark with each bound. It took a bit before he was on a sturdy branch that could handle his weight. Once there though he immediately took off after the glittering and flashing little lights. He honestly didn’t know what they were, nor did he really care. He jumped from branch to branch, claws scrambling for purchase. There was a dicey moment when he did a long jump but misjudged his distance a bit. He ended up landing on a lower branch but his hair definitely stood on end for a little while. “This way,” he called out to the other guardian, nodding towards the lights he saw. Mel had no idea that he was rapidly contributing to the whispers of fey mischief as his tree top antics loosened and knocked free many more acorns, leaves, sticks, and other green detritus, then he had ever been pelted with.

Coco followed after the other guardian as they hunted the bad fey. She also didn't notice that they were causing more trouble by hunting the fey than they were trying to fix it. She soon grew tired and called out. "I don't think we can get them, we should get out of this forest to safety!!"

MiddyGlow one or two more posts should wrap this up nicely ^.^ Mel lost his focus when the other cat called out to him. He mis-jumped and rather than land on yet another branch he ended up falling. With a yowl, branches breaking underneath his large frame, Mel fell. Only to land in a bush. It wasn’t a pain free fall, not at all, but at least he wasn’t a flattened kitty. That was something! Muttering to himself he gingerly yanked his furry butt out of the, now rather worse for wear, bush. “Stupid fairies!” He cursed up at the trees that he had just fallen from only to get pegged once again by something, this time a little star shaped charm rather than an acorn. “Fine! We are going! Just wanted fried chicken anyway.” Mutter, mutter, grumble, grumble. He waited for the smaller guardian, leaning against a tree trunk since he figured it would be harder to hit him with stuff that way. It was fun running in the trees, but he was tired now and sore, and he was still hungry! Stupid fairies… stupid park… stupid- “Hey!” He yelped as another well placed acorn came out of the darkness at him. “I didn’t even say anything that time!”

After everything that had happened Coco couldn't remember if she had given him her name or gotten his in return. "I'm Coco by the way, what's your name?" She asked.

“Mel! Mlinzi really but most everyone calls me Mel, or Ze, or Lin, or Linze, or Hey you, or Dumbass, or AHHHH.” He introduced himself to Coco. “Really I can answer to pretty much anything,” He cheerfully replied. “So, I don’t suppose you know where we can get some food do you? I really would love to get my claws on some fried chicken right now but I wouldn’t pass up anything else too.” His tummy grumbled to prove his point. He was hungry, especially after their hunting adventure.

Coco smiled "Mel is fine with me." She nodded "The cat cafe is my favorite place to get food, and to meet other guardians who gather there as well." She shook her head "They have sweets, not chicken, but I'm sure we could find a senshi to help get chicken."

OH
MY
GOD!“There is a cafe? For CATS!?!?” Mel stood stock still, eyes wide and even his fur standing on end, as his mind tried to process this information. One minute he was a statue the next he took off running, “Come on! Let’s go!” His excited voice came out from the darkness. “CHICKEN! YAHOOOOOOO!”

Coco followed after shushing him to calm down and reminding him they would have to ask a senshi to buy them chicken somewhere else. She had gotten food for aiding a knight once. Senshis and knights were helpful. "Slow down you don't know where you are going!!??"
