The Charity Benefit (9) : A number of the local businesses in the area have come together to organize a charity benefit. In addition to a silent auction, there is also an evening charity ball. The community has been wanting to raise funds to fix up a few public areas for some time now and in the spirit of the Star Festival, these businesses have donated several prizes to the event to encourage people to attend. Some old warehouses and estates have been cleared out by the city, so there’s a wide variety of strange antiques and hidden treasures. As one of the local residents you have been kindly invited to attend! Formal attire is encouraged but only required if you plan to attend the Ball. It’s a good opportunity to dress up, meet new people, and maybe go home with something neat. Who knows what you can find to trade with Almadel, anyway? And, he’s always back in town for the Star Festival.
Players can roleplay any part of the Charity Benefit, including but not limited to mingling, dancing, enjoying the buffet, or leaving with a treasure they acquired There is no ORP set up for this but players can create group RPs if they like!

Events like this were old-hat to Quinn. It was something he had done since he was young, being the heir to one of the big companies, and one of the richer families, ment that he knew all about schmoozing with the upper crust of society. Not that this particular charity benefit was stuffed full of the city’s wealthiest, it was a mix of all walks of life. Honestly, a breath of fresh air for the not so young man after the last few years. Nearing his third decade going around the sun on this planet they called Earth ment that Quinn was tired. He had bounced around the globe multiple times after taking the reins as CEO of the family company; putting out metaphorical fires here and there, building new plants and subsidiaries, negotiating new contracts, and even selling off areas that were no longer viable for the company as a whole. After not quite four years as being THE boss Quinn felt a bit more secure, still like a pretender to the throne but at least he didn’t feel like a child playing at being a leader. It had been a hard three years, eight months, and twenty-seven days since he was told about his parents' accident and his abrupt ascension to Chief Executive Officer. Although it still took a few weeks for the announcements to go out, not that it really changed much.
As much as Quinn had prepared for it, stepping into his father’s shoes just wasn’t as simple as one might think. It was stressful to say the least and busy as hell. How did his dad make it look so damn easy? That's why Quinn was glad to be at this event, it was something he could do in his sleep. In his suit and tie he was dressed perfectly for the ball but first he got his Personal Assistant to let him just wander the items up for auction. The PA wasn’t terribly happy since ‘The Schedule’ had been altered but it was the first time in a while that Quinn got to be back in the city for any major length of time. He wanted to enjoy it.
“Oh,” He paused for a second when one of the people running a booth… maybe… passed him a simple little charm in the shape of a star. “Thank you.” A little red star in a silver hexagonal frame, it even had three little hanging stars. It was a trinket to say the least but it was handed out in kindness so Quinn only hesitated a second before slipping it into his pocket. If it had nefarious purposes he could always get rid of it later.
With his hands in his pockets, his right hand absently worrying at the little stone he kept on him, the confident man wandered the various tables and their auction wears. He bid on a few items, mostly because he could, but nothing really jumped out at him. Nothing called to him. It was a shame really since there were some really interesting things but Quinn did hear something that made him perk his ears, something about a mysterious merchant that seemed a bit like one of those game NPC’s that sold just the thing you needed. This piqued his curiosity. There were several things he needed, none of which existed in the realm of modern medicine.
But maybe, just maybe…
“Sir? You have a meeting with Mr. Kim in ten.” Any mystical and magical contemplation Quinn had was abruptly cut short when his PA slid up to side and murmured a reminder. He had to go meet Seung before the Ball started, if only to let his friend know he was back for a while… not that Seung wouldn’t have known that since his schedule would have told him as much too. Still, it would be nice to spend some time with the guy rather than just rushing in and back out again with barely time to wave. “Sir?”
“Alright, let's go.” With a nod Quinn headed in the direction of their meeting spot, his PA following behind.
