Heatwaves (11) : An unfortunate dry spell has come over Destiny City, and a heat wave has made it all but unbearable. The heatwave is only projected to last for a week but it’s been rough. Plants are wilting, people are wilting. The city is experiencing blackouts, which isn’t helping. Thankfully, the reservoir is always open. Just, crowded. It might just be the worst part of the summer. People are passing out regularly, and the hospitals are getting too many admissions to keep up with. It’s probably just the heat and not anyone up to anything nefarious, right? Better stay hydrated and try to keep cool, and maybe avoid everyone in weird costumes, just in case. Noah lay in the park under the shade of a tree, although she wasnt too sure it was actually helping. She was in a cute tank and a pair of her brother's basketball shorts, but she wished she opted for a cute dress of skirt. She felt for sure it would be cooler. Instead she lay regretting her decision to leave the house and mad the snowball stand was on the other side of the park. She needed a break because of the heat. Usually it was nothing to walk from one side of the park to the other, but today it wasnt wise. Hell any day this week it wasnt wise. "Ugggghhh I wish it would rain already or something!"

Geez it was hot! Why did it have to be so hot?! Even though she was wearing the most adorable sundress, Holi was still baking in the sun. She was in the middle of the park with most of the shady areas already being taken, what a bummer. Although, she could just see if she could make friends while in the shade! There seemed to be some one by themselves under the tree. She heard a shout, but didn't really understand. Rain would be nice, that was something she heard loud and clear. Making her way over to the stranger, Holi smiled and waved, "Hello! Can I sit here with you?"

Noah rolled her head to the side to see a girl waving at her, to which she gave a lazy wave in return. It was a bit hot for much real enthusiasm. "It's cool if you sit here, I don't mind. I'm only sitting here for a few minutes ... a pit stop. She fanned herself, "I'm on my way to the snowball stand, but even though its just on the other side of the park, I swear I almost died." She laughed slightly and returned to starfishing in the grass. "Nice dress, my brothers would like it, especially Nick. I think he would be the first to wear it." She gave a cheeky grin looking up to the sky think about her brothers. Their parents hadn't ever been able to keep them from wearing each others clothes, not that they tried very hard. They also hadn't expected for one of their triplets to be a surprise. Surprise its a girl. Noah spent most of the first few months of her life in boys clothes.

"Thank you! I like your shorts~" She was not bothered at all about her brothers wanting to wear her dress. Seemed like it would be fun to have dress up time with her brothers. "That seems like it would be fun to do, play dress up with your brothers?" She too moved to starfish next to the girl, looking up at the sky. "What is your name?" She thought about the snowball stand and wondered if she could maybe join her there.

Noah laughed when the girl said she liked her shorts. "Thanks, they are my brothers. It not really play or dress up, my brother and I share a closet, We have our whole lives. I mean when each have our own closet, but we treat it like a collective. Only thing you we keep to ourselves is underwear and swim suits." She looked up at some birds singing in a tree, "Im Noah, what your name?" She hadn't been expecting to meet someone new in the few minutes she chose to rest in the shade, but was happy to chat. One could never have enough friends and especially never enough subjects for the camera. She smirked inwardly because she didn't have a single friend or family member that she hadn't gotten on film at some point. "Man Im not so sure that laying in the shade is even helping ... whats with this heat?"

Oooooooh.....That made sense. Holi wished she had a sibling to share her closet with, it would be fun to switch things around. "Holiday, Holi for short." She followed her gaze, also staring at the birds now. She moved a hand to fan herself, "I think its helping a little, but I do wish I had an air conditioner that would follow me around or something." Wouldn't that be cool? A robot air conditioner whos sole purpose was to cool the person that buys it. Maybe she could come up with a concept for that later? "The heat is a terrible beast that is trying to melt Destiny City...." She was pouting slightly, sighing.

"Thats a cute name, were you born on a holiday?" She sat up from her place in the grass looking with a frown down the path she needed to head down if she wanted a snowball. "My parents thought I was going to be a boy, luckily Noah is unisex, so they didn't need to pick a new name." Noah chuckled, "actually that sound like a sci-fi horror movie waiting to happen. One good heat wave shorting out the robots and making them go berserker." Noah didn't think it was necessary when one could just stay indoors or move to a place with air conditioning. "I agree," she groaned, "that why I'm determined to get a snowball. If I wasn't so drained from the heat, I would film it like a mini adventure. Do you want to come with, it will us down far better than the shade? We can find a shady spot near the snowball stand." Noah was standing up, not fully cooled off, but also not thinking it would happen without the snowball.

"I.....Don't know." Admittedly, Holi should've asked her foster mom that kind of information, but it never occurred to her. All she knew [and remembered] was that her name was Holiday. She frowned for a second but quickly recovered, "Noah is nice as well." She laughed when Noah mentioned that her parents thought she was going to be a boy, finding it so strange. But then again, she did recall hearing that babies can sometimes trick you as far as gender is concerned. "Well if the robots go berserk, then they could just evolve to freeze people in place, like human popsicles~" She wriggled her fingers for the creepy effect, "Attaccccck ooooooof the porrrrtabllleeee aaaacccccccsssssss~" "Sure~" She was looking at the distance to the snowball machine with determination in her eyes, "Lets do this~" Holi stood up as well, readying herself for the long journey to come.

Noah tilted her head to the side slightly confused, "you don't know ... um well what's your birthday," she asked as she nodded when Holi said her name was nice. "I like it, it suits me, and it matches my brother's names, Nick and Nate." She laughed and shook her head when Holi joked about the portable ac's attacking. She held out a hand to help Holi up and pointed in the direction they were going, "The snowball stand is still aways that way on the other side of the park, but the snowballs are really good, and you can even add ice-cream or marshmallow to them." Noah really loved the snowball stand; it was open year-round and sold different items depending on the season. It was summer, so it was snowballs, ice-cream, milkshakes and other cold treats, but mostly snowballs. In the fall, there would be candied apples and popcorn. Noah would be first in line when fall rolled around.

"Oh! Hahaha....My birthday is March 14th. Hmmmmn....Nick, Nate, and Noah! Nice." Holi gladly took Noah's hand, standing up and looking in the direction she was pointing. "Oh!!! Yes lets do this! " She was determined now, she really wanted to cool down. "To the snow machine! We should make some sort of adventure out of it~" She maybe 21, but that didn't mean she didn't like to play games. Her main job was to be a gamer after all. "Like the rogue AC units are chasing us and the only salvation is to get to the snowball machine." It would be just like a weird Sci-fi mini movie.

"Ah, so close to St. Patrick's day, though probably not named for that holiday ... or maybe, are you Irish?" No matter her age, Noah was down for an adventure and was mad she had brought her camera, because they could have made a blair witch style movie. Shakey cam in all. It would have been hilarous. "Right, onward Holi before we are captured. Snowballs are known substance able to short circuit the rogue ac units." She tried not to laugh, but it was really silly, and she was certain she had just made a new friend as she and Holi made their way to the snowball stand.
