The Reservoir (4) : The Destiny City Reservoir opened about two years ago and is an easy escape from the big city. It’s a five-minute drive outside of the Eastern side of town and features clear water and sandy beaches--although, the sand here is notorious for squeaking when you step on it. It’s a hot spot for all fun summer activities, but it’s been in the news for mysterious reports of some strange, aquatic monster. Some accounts say they’ve spotted a twenty foot long, snake like creature capable of rearing a long neck high above the water. It’s hard to tell if the videos are doctored, but there are too many rumors to dismiss easily. Something strange might be lurking deep in the water. Or it’s just a hoax to get people out to the Reservoir!
But…Sometimes, people feel like something is grabbing their ankle, even if they are just wading in the shallow end. In the deeper parts of the water, it gets a little more intense: something has been said to grab onto ankles and pull. People have been warned about dangerous pranks, but so far no one has been caught. In the shallow end, anyone unfortunate enough to be targeted may feel themselves being knocked off their feet and tugged into the water; anyone in deep water may feel a firm grip on their ankle, tugging them lower and lower. Somehow, anyone it targets is freed--either by wriggling and fighting, or because someone intervenes and pulls the would-be victim up. No one has drowned in the lake. Yet. It's impossible to see who, or what, is doing this, but it usually gives up after one failed attempt. Usually.
While you may find yourself harassed by the supposed cryptid, or see something visibly odd in the distance, you cannot take any pictures of the creature. Who knows if you’re even being attacked by the cryptid–or just another youma?
Dari had been to the beach - in cat form, but never in his human glamour. His Daddy (Drew) was taking him and told him this would be different. Aunt Dani was going as well, and he was actually excited that he was going to get to play with her.
Dani hadn't been to the beach in a while and definitely had never been to the reservoir. She was also excited to go and to go with her older brother Drew and her practically nephew Dari in his human glamour. She was disappointed though, for they could only stay an hour, as Dari's human glamour would only remain for so long, and once back in cat form, he preferred the sand, not the water. That might not be so bad except- bringing a cat to the beach, even one that did NOT speak, brought attention - sometimes from the wrong people.

Drew was pleased to have a day off, to take the younger members of his family to the beach. He would like to have taken Dria, however she was studying for exams. Den and Dell would have been fun too, however, Mom, Dad and Aunt Dia had some time off, and they wanted some time with the little ones. Later they would all spend time together.

The three of them packed up some beach things. Drew and Dani got on their bathing suits and coverings -Drew secretly packed a pair of Magma man trunks he had specially gotten for Dari (who was still in cat form) as well as a "Power of Ra" beach towel. Drew and Dani packed their own towels, as well as sunblock, and sand toys and small beach chairs, and the three of them got in Dad's SUV. If Dad had thought that it was weird that Drew and Dani were taking Drew's kitten Darius to the beach, he didn't say anything or show it - but then Drew took Dari everywhere. They arrived at the beach.

After Drew and Dani unpacked the SUV, told their Dad that they'd see him in about an hour (which he made a comment about - who goes to the beach for only an hour?)

After Dad drove off, Dani offered to find a spot and set up. "You guys go ahead and do what you need to do." She smiled. "I'll find a place to set up." Drew looked down at his younger sister mildly worried. "You sure, you'll be alright?"

"Of course, Drew! I am almost thirteen years old. And it's only a few minutes." She paused, hesitantly. And if things start to get really bad, I will alert you." She said pointedly.

Drew nodded and grinned. "That's my Dani. Alright, it should only take us about ten minutes." They headed in the direction of the Men's Latrines.

Dani headed for a clear spot on the beach, not too far from the water that they would have to walk a mile to get to it, nor too close, that should Dari lose his glamour (should for some reason no one see him) , he wouldn't be frustrated with the water. She noticed the odd sound of the sound of the sand squeaking under her feet, or was that just her flipflops?

As she was setting up, she had her back to the water, the sounds of 'fun in the sun' suddenly disappeared and were replaced with sounds of astonishment and then fear. She turned slowly, not sure what she was about to face... only to find the scaly face of a six foot long, dripping wet, four-footed sea-serpent in her face.

She yelped and jerked away from the youma, which continued to terrify the beach around the reservoir. Dani ran as fast she could to a little outcropping of bushes and pulled out her civilian phone and texted Drew, Youma 911! On Beach! Come quickly!!!

She quickly looked back out towards the youma who was now dragging people out to the water and realized she couldn't wait for Drew and Dari.

"Henshin Power! Leaena Make-up!" She yelled as she transformed and jumped out of the bush. "Hold it right there Youma! I'm Chibi Super Sailor Leaena of Cheetahs, and you're nothing but a scratching post to me!"

The youma barely blinked at her and just kept ignoring her. The people in its grip struggled to get free. Leaena ran closer to it and did the one thing she knew would get its attention:

She slaps the ground and rises into the Cheetah stance. At the same time, she calls out "Cheetah Friends". Energy Cheetah Cubs fly out to attack. Range: 6-7 ft. Minor Damage from scratches. Lasts maximum of 15 seconds if doesn't target. 2 uses.

The attack caused just enough damage that the youma howled in frustration and let go of its victims. They immediately jumped up and ran off - one little girl (about five years old) stayed long enough to thank her (at least someone was) then her mother hauled her (good, better her, than Leaena shouting at her to get out of here).

Now the youma was furious; seconds before it did, Leaena realized it was about to snatch her up, and for once, she didn't have time to run. Instead, she activated her new enhancement:

Enhancement: Ethereal Armor: Leaenarian Breastplate

This Ethereal Armor is designed specifically with this specific Sailor Leaena and perhaps those who follow, in mind. It is an ethereal breastplate with the Leaenarian Crest emblazoned on the chest right under the chin and has Cheetah Designs featured upon it. Its colors include black, gold, and the color of the Leaenarian Savannah. It is designed for a young woman. It lasts only for 2 minutes and can only be summoned during battle - and only then once per day. It does nothing for magical attacks, protects against all sharp attacks, and puts a minor barrier for blunt force - that is, she will still feel blunt force attacks, and may still receive heavy bruising - but it will be considerably lightened.

It was activated just in time, the youma seized her powerfully and had her up in the air - then suddenly Dari was right next her in his Human Glamour, trying to free her, a Star Charm hanging from his wrist; he must have found it in the bathroom.

"Dari-us," Leaena cried in alarm. "Where did - What ARE you doing - Where is Etamin?" she asked all aflutter and had to force out because the youma was squeezing her so hard. She would definitely have bruising in the morning. She hoped her parents and Aunt Dia wouldn't see.

As he worked to get her free, Dari answered her questions, "I was getting my trunks on when you texted," he grunted, loosed the grip of the youma's pinky. "We came as soon as we could." He grunted again. "I'm trying to free you Aunt Dani - can't you see that?" He now had loosened the ring finger as well as the middle finger and grunted. The youma's hand was humongous. Dari now pointed toward a place on the beach, "Eternal Sailor Etamin of Hieroglyphics, at your service" Dari grunted a third time.
Down on the beach, Etamin, gave his introduction and challenge: "I am Eternal Sailor Etamin of Hieroglyphics. I make this call the Guardians of the Universe; Guardians, Unite!"

He looked like an Egyptian Pharaoh in the desert - well sort of. However it spoke volumes, as the youma was now fixated on him, and ready to do battle with him. "Creature of darkness, you do great harm here, and I'm afraid I cannot allow you to go on doing so." The youma tried to strike him, with Leaena and Dari hanging on, but Etamin only leaped out of the way.

Etamin then called forth his magic:

Eternal Sailor Attack: Pharaoh's Trap
-Directions: Write Curse in Hieroglyphics in air (appear in air). In English reads,
"Since you've come,
Evil things you have done,
Spread sickness upon this land,
Now be entombed in darkness where you stand,"
-Effects: Entombs the enemy in darkness for 30 seconds
-Uses: 1

The youma screamed and dropped Dani, who groaned; her ethereal armor's time had run out for the day, and she was already badly bruised, now she was bruised even more. As for Dari, he barely leaped off in time and managed to land on his feet. Then Etamin, though he was now exhuasted from the one use of his most powerful attack, he went on the physical attack, while Dari stood back, and Dani just closed her eyes.

Soon they were back in the parking lot, Dari in Cat Form, Dani and Drew powered down, and Dani in Drew's arms. Though there were no major injuries, Dani was black and blue. She couldn't go to the doctor like this, nor could she go home like this. They needed help. He got out his phone.
