The Fireflies (6) : In the warm summer nights, little glowing lights begin to bob and dart through the city. Fireflies are mating, so this isn't uncommon in itself; in the past few days you've probably seen hundreds of fireflies. What makes these lights so unique is that they seem to change color; you might see a blue one, a green one, a red one. They flicker randomly, and something just seems off with them. If you come into contact with one, you will find yourself with a strange electric jolt. They cannot be caught, and will flicker away if you pursue too aggressively. This isn’t the first time they’ve appeared in Destiny City, but no one’s been able to tell where they came from or where they’re going. No matter how quickly you chase them, they always seem to disappear before you can find any answers.

Drew and Dari (human glamour, 1/2 hour remaining) were out for a walk late one evening. They were enjoying 'father/son' time - if you could call it that. Drew was walking leisurely along, his hands in his pockets, and was quite amused as Dari was running here and there trying to catch the enormous amounts of fireflies out tonight. He chuckled to himself. Dari was not very good at catching prey whether in Cat Form, or Human Glamour.

He cleared his throat, as Dari started getting too far away. "Come back Dari. You're getting too far away. I can't see you. "

Dari frowned and sounded disappointed. "Okay Daddy." The good thing was that he trusted Drew - he had actually chosen Drew to be his Daddy - but that was another story.

Drew was knocked out of his thoughts, when Dari gave a note of surprise, on his way back to Drew. "What is it Dari?"

Dari spoke softly, "It changed. The firefly changed its light. It changed it's light to blue."

Drew shook his head, Another practical joke from Dari. "Dari, we don't have much time, you're going to -"

"No. I'm absolutely serious, Daddy. And that one's red."

Drew lifted his head, and realized that all the fireflies around him were changing colors too.

Dari managed to get his hands around a purple one and gave a yelp of pain, releasing it, as purple electrical energy shot through him, and he crumpled to the ground.

Drew screamed his name, "DARI!" He ran to Dari's side, brushing past a Star Charm on a bush (and not noticing) and fell his knees.

The fireflies flickered away. Dari shifted a little. "I'm okay, Daddy. It just startled me." He said weakly. There were burn marks on his hands, and he was shaking a little.

Dari slowly sat up. It was obvious that he was somewhat dizzy, and that his eyes were having a hard time seeing straight.

"I'm okay," He mumbled softly.

Drew was obviously scared. "I think he's in some sort of shock. I don't know that his injuries are that bad though."
