The Wishing Tree (1): A Destiny City Star Festival Tradition to be held every year; In Town Square, there is a beautiful tree with spreading branches. It is tall, but the lowest branches are easily reached. The city has decorated the tree with small, starlike ornaments and glistening lights. Thick leaves and beautiful purple flowers dangle from the branches, along with a myriad of different colored papers with handwritten wishes. Next to the tree is a stack of blank paper with twine attached, and a handwritten sign that explains:
Write your wish on a sheet of paper and tie it to the tree. Take one wish off the tree and do your best to grant it. When you have granted the wish, bury the paper in the park.
The papers are biodegradable and filled with seeds. There are no rules for wishing, but you are encouraged to wish for something vague enough that it can be interpreted in many ways so that it can be granted; you do not write your name on it, but it is encouraged to write something that doesn’t wish for self-gain, but rather something that can make the world a better place. Some wishes dangling from the tree already include things like “I wish there wasn’t so much litter in the park,” “I wish someone would clean the graffiti off the old historic buildings,” and “I wish there were more volunteers at the shelter.”
If you choose to use the Wishing Tree, what do you wish for? If your wish is private, you may write it on the paper and choose a spot in the park and bury it yourself instead of hanging it on the tree.
A letter arrived for Alphubel, Knight of Polaris, the first day of the Star Festival.
It read;
To detect;
And Protect,
We need to talk the talk,
And walk the walk;
Seek me;
Under the Wishing Tree;
In my Civilian Form;
You will know me by the colors my Wishes form.

Jason has been quite busy recently. The semester and year had finally ended and he was now taking a couple of summer classes so patrolling hadn't been at the front of his mind. However, when he had powered up, he noticed that he had received a message from his friend Etamin. When he read it he couldn't help letting out a smile. And so he had wandered over to the Wishing Tree, part of the Star Festival that he didn't usually go to, and looked around. He was wearing a blue t-shirt and jean shorts, but from the message figured that Etamin might be in some colors that matched his Senshi form... and he finally spotted who he thought matched the description. When he was getting ready to come over it had hit him that he hadn't ever met most of his powered friends as civilians, which was a bit sad. Etamin was willing to do so, but for others, did that mean that they didn't trust him? It was something to think about later as he made his way over to the man who appeared to be using black and gold paper. Jason took a deep breath in and let it out, and took the leap. "Hey man, usually don't see you when we aren't out uh, protecting together." He said with a small wave. Hopefully the other man would interpret it correctly. Jason didn't want to go outright and say how he knew the other, just in case he, or others nearby, were on the other side.

Drew was off on the day of the Star Festival, which was unusual for the police, but he took it. On this day, he was wearing mainly black with indeed, some gold stripes, and yes since Alphubel had seen him last, he had shaved his head. He was just putting up his wish in Gold and Black paper on the Wishing Tree, I wish someone would help give the teenagers (or at least one of them) of Destiny City more of a chance, when he heard a familiar voice. He smiled and turned. "An icy home, but warm heart, I presume?"

A grin broke out on Jason's face, glad that he had gotten the right person. "Drew! Haven't seen you in a while! How have you been?" He asked, holding his hand out for a fist bump. "Haven't tried this before, the tree that is, but seems interesting at least! You been doing well?" As he grabbed one of the papers with his free hand. "At least one year of University is behind me now. Summer classes have been a bit of a pain though."

Drew smiled at his friend, "I am doing excellent. I have started my career - you're now speaking to Officer Andrew Bones - Police Officer that is, so don't do anything illegal while you're around me." He grinned wickedly. He pulled off his baseball cap and wiped his forehead of sweat, showing that his head had been shaved bald as a cue ball in a game of pool. There was a mewing. Drew looked up startled. "Oh! How could I have forgotten? I wanted you meet someone. Come on out Dari." A silver Egyptian Mau Kitten, with what looked like Ancient Egyptian bracelets around its ankles, and a golden star on his forehead, leaped out of the tree and unto Drew's shoulder. Drew grinned. "This is Darius Ammun, though we call him Dari." In a lower voice, he said, "We are bonded. Say hello, Dari, to my good friend Jason, also known as Alphubel, Knight of Polaris." Dari looked grumpy. "Hi." He sniffed and jumped back in the tree. Drew frowned, "Don't be like that, Dari." To which Dari prompted farted. "DARI!" Drew turned to Jason and spoke low. "I'm sorry. Please understand, he just has to get to know you. It's nothing to do with you, he just doesn't trust humans- when I found him - he had been homeless and starving - but to make it worse - a gang of hoodlums ... well, I guess you can figure out what happened next. It took a great deal to time to help him recover from his physical wounds...but... I fear he may never trust must humans again...." "Are you talking about me behind my back again, Daddy?" Dari called. He seemed like an eight-year-old kid. Drew inhaled sharply at the "Daddy" part and said, "And, then there's that." He shrugged.

Jason grinned. "Congratulations are in order I think! We should go out to eat sometime in celebration!" He said as he noticed the other's head. He had to say, it looked good on Drew. Jason didn't think he could ever do it unless it was required. He was about to respond to being introduced to Dari, but it seemed that the other didn't want it. He nodded at the explanation that Drew gave. "I get it. It'll just take some time." Even though his own cat, Bluejeans, had warmed up to him quickly, he knew that for other cats, even Mauvians, needed to get to know others before they trusted them. He couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at the "Daddy" part and wondered just how old the Mauvian was. Were their ages like those of humans? "Well, glad that you were able to save him. I don't understand why people would go and hurt others like that." He meant in terms of harming animals, but it could be inferred that he meant the Negaverse as well. He grabbed a piece of paper and was trying to think of what to write as he talked to Drew. "You already write down your uh, wish?" That's what all the papers were for on the tree right? "Anywhere you want to go after this in particular or just want to talk and catch up with each other? I've been so busy with school, I feel like I'm missing out on everything." He said with a sigh.

SSBrosB So I figure we each (through thoughts or something) mention Jason and Drew's/Dari's wishes, then do Wishing Tree II, we each fulfill the others wish (I already share Drew's/Dari's) biggrin Drew grinned. "Yep." He pointed the Black and Gold paper hanging near Jason. "We could go and talk and get something to eat. But go ahead and write yours down." He jerked his head to the side beckoning Jason out of Dari's earshot. "Would you believe that my wish is actually Dari's. Even with all those scars." A tear ran down his face. "He latched on to me, because I refused to let him die. He's obsessed with 'good' my heart is. But nothing I have ever done compares to his wish." He gazed towards Dari. Then he called out, "Come 'Mun." '"That's a really bad pun, Daddy..." But Darius Ammun came anyways.

Jason quickly grabbed a piece of paper and pen and wrote his wish down. I wish people would take the time to go out and enjoy nature, without trashing it, for at least one day.And he put it on the tree. Jason gave Drew a small smile. "It's good that others still want to help people out, even if they've been mistreated." Jason said with a nod. "At least it's always amazing to me that other animals can do it, so ones that are as smart, or smarter, than humans doing the same thing surprises me sometimes."He took a look at the paper that Drew had pointed to. "You want to take each other's wishes? And if you know a place that wouldn't be too crowded by the festival to eat at, that would be great. One that allows cats to come in as well." He said looking at Dari.

Drew nodded as he took Jason's wish and then plucked his own (or rather Dari's) and handed it to Jason. As he did, a star charm dislodged from the bark of the tree and fell to the ground. "Hmm I know this really great sandwich place nearby, and they have a small menu for cats- fish and chicken usually, and some milk to drink." With Dari on his shoulder, he moved to take the lead. "Come on, Dad," Dari moaned sarcastically.

Jason quickly took a look at the wish on the paper that he was handed before stuffing it into one of his pockets. "Sandwiches sound good. Especially in this summer weather. I'll follow your lead." He said with a nod to the other, before chuckling at Dari's words. Luckily he had some time to do the wish, so he would be able to mull it over and think of a way to fulfill it before the night was over. Sailor Hawk Sounds good to me! Thanks for the rp!
