Akel held a basket against her hip as she walked. She'd gone out earlier in search of plants that she could use to negate effects of poisons or venoms. Over the years she'd learned which ones worked and which ones didn't so she didn't have to spend that much time out in the woods. Of course she'd gotten side tracked when she'd come across a Keldari nest. She now had in her possession two eggs. Akel planned on hatching them and raising the Keldari within. Her goal was to train them to be stealth attackers. If she could give them small verbal commands and they worked well then they could be used in all manner of ways.

If not for the occasional subconscious hisses that slipped Imri's presence might have been completely silent. He'd done well to hide behind a massive, gnarled tree but there was no ignoring the sounds coming out of him. Every time he moved his left left agony ripped through him so the teen did his best not to do that. Coming out here in a 'mood' was a stupid mistake; one that was very likely going to cost him his life. Stay calm. Lower your breathing. It was easy to remember Ai's words in situations like these, but harder to put them into practice. He'd managed to anger a keldari nest in his explorations. Most had been okay with just hissing his way, especially when he made a quick exit, but one had managed to sink it's fangs into his calf. Angling the leg just so, Imri ripped a length of cloth from his cloak and tied it around his thigh to stem the bloodflow. It hurt like hell, causing him to cry out, but Imri was quick to bite down on his lip. Now the question was...where he go from here?

Akel was all for continuing on when the sound of something out of place caught her ear. The woman tilted her head slightly so as to hear it better and when she realized what it was she couldn't help the instant twitch of a brow. She was out in the woods often enough these days that she carried with her the means to treat Keldari bites. Especially since she tended to stumble across them more than not. Akeldama made a humming noise then shifted her basket so that she could walk without threat of dropping it. The Elaria moved around to where she'd heard the hissing breaths that definitely did not belong to a beast. Mostly she was curious to see which idiot sister had decided to play near the Keldari nests. If they had just run away from some and were now out of breath she would hate to tell them that they weren't out of danger yet.

Imri wasn't a complete idiot. The moment he heard movement coming his way he tried to steady his breathing and shrink into his surroundings. All the while his hand moved to a dagger at his side. If it was a creature then he might be able to scare it off, but an enemy would find his blade in their gut. He hadn't actually stabbed anyone yet though the concept wasn't one he feared. It was an inevitability that he shifted and waited for. When he peered around the trunk, just enough to catch sight of the one approaching, Imri saw it was an Elarian. Instead of feeling relieved he ducked back behind the tree with a firm scowl. This could go one of two ways; she would either feel sorry for him or suffocate him with his own cowl. "Don't come any closer!" His voice shook from the adrenaline but there was an edge to it.

The words made her lift a brow. Whoever it was seriously expected her to listen. "Mm, when you can prove that you can stop me, I'll listen." Akel continued to get closer to where she'd heard the noise and now the voice. It didn't take her long to find the young thing. At first she stopped and looked at Imri with an unimpressed look. While she knew hybrids had become a thing she'd never interacted with any. Until now. She might have a slightly less deadly outlook on earthlings now but that didn't really mean she liked them. Akeldama looked Imri over before she took note of the injured leg. For the time she remained quiet as she thought of what to do.

The preteen's knee jerk response was to snarl when she came fully into sight and his hardened gaze bore into hers. He wouldn't be able to take down an adult, but he would hurt her if she tried anything. Even the act of curling his lip felt off due to the metallic taste that coated his tongue. It caused his stomach to roll, but he wouldn't give in to the nausea. Granted, now that his defensive aggression was kicking in any attempt at being calm was thrown out. "Don't try me." If he moved then it would be messy and would leave him vulnerable. So, his best option was just to stay down, but even that left him at her mercy. When he slowly lifted his dagger, holding it close to him in a defensive stance, Imri's arm shook. Not out of fear, but out of sheer pain.

Akel took note of the boy's actions. The way he spoke and even the shake in his arm as he held his dagger. Her head tilted to the side as she looked him up and down again, still showing that unimpressed look. "Good job on being situationally aware but you should be more concerned with your injury." She gave a nod toward his leg. "Keldari bite?" She questioned. It was logical considering where they were at the moment. Quickly she glanced around the teen to make sure there were no dangers to him at present. Once she was satisfied with that she made eye contact with him. Many things ran through her mind. Did this one's mother teach him what to do in the case of being bitten? Would the healers even try for him because he was a hybrid? Where was his mother? It caused Akeldama to furrow her brow a bit as she slowly ended up glaring at the ground in front of the boy. "Put the blade down and come with me." If she was going to treat the wound she needed him to be away from other potential dangers. "Neither of us have all day to stand here. Don't give me attitude either, I don't care if you don't want my help. You'll be getting it whether you are conscious or not." She could just as easily wait for him to pass out from pain or let the venom spread. Of course the latter would be harder to deal with.

He was plenty concerned with his injury. It was hard not to be when the entire limb was swollen and throbbing. Still, Imri awkwardly nodded to her question, even if he didn't lower his weapon. "...Yeah." There wasn't much use explaining the situation around it; knowing how it happened wouldn't prevent it and opening his mouth more than he had to would just ensure Imri threw up on her feet. She was pragmatic in a way that he both responded to and also became defensive around. It was like being around Ai except she wasn't sneering over his mistake. With little choice, Imri carefully lowered his blade and tucked it into the sheath at his side. "....I can't walk." The admission came out on an embarrassed grumble. He'd managed to make it this far, but any further was out of the question. Still, with a fair amount of struggle Imri was able to pull himself up to his feet - foot? - with much help from the tree at his back. By the time he was up the preteen was sweating, limbs shaking from the exertion and features pinched in pain.

She focused on him as he got up on his foot. Akel was watching for how he moved to see the extent of the pain. Also to see how stubborn the kid was. Of course she caught the mumbled words and her frown deepened. It took her only a second to figure out what she was going to do. The Elaria moved forward with slow but sure steps. "Fine. I'll carry you. If I end up with a dagger in my side I will drop you on that leg and cause enough pain that you will pass out and be at my mercy. Understood?"Akeldama would wait only a second longer before moving to scoop the boy up in one arm. He was still young enough that she could carry him in such a manner. It wouldn't be exactly dignified for the kid but it would get him to safety and getting treated. Only reason he didn't get to be carried like a baby was because she also had her basket to worry about. "What's your name? Who is your mother?" If she k ew she could send Alizeh to fetch them or at least inform them of what was going on.

"Fine." Imri groused through gritted teeth. At this point it wasn't as if he was trying to be bratty; the act of putting even the slightest bit of pressure on his leg was making him irritable. He tried following his breathing exercises, really tried, until the preteen just didn't care anymore. For a moment he was content to just adjust himself before his entire world was moving and his nausea couldn't subside any longer. The moment Imri was lifted off the ground he lost the contents of his stomach on the ground. Thankfully not on her but it could have been close. Usually vomiting made him feel better, but in this case it definitely did not. His head throbbed, but he had enough sense to spit out the remainder of bile onto the ground before answering. "Lucijah...." And after a moment, "...and Ai."

Tipping the boy had the half expected outcome of him losing everything, hopefully, in his stomach. Akeldama didn't even pause when he did this. She just kept on walking. Truthfully there wasn't much point to stopping. He was going to either stop or continue and neither would help his leg so she didn't really care. When she caught the first name she arched a brow. "Your name is Lucijah? Interesting." She adjusted her hold on him so that her hand was comfortable. Her steps faltered when she heard Ai's name. This was that woman's kid? She dropped her gaze to the boy. ".... Do you want me to tell Ai that you are injured or would you rather I kept it secret?" Akel had met the woman before. She was tough. Not exactly friendly either. Which brought about a whole other bit of surprise. The kid in her arm was a hybrid. And his mother was Ai.

Imri was doing his best to hang on to her, but his hold was loose at best. It seemed like once he was secure in knowing he wouldn't fall his body focused on other things. "No thats...that's my moms' name...Lucijah and Ai..." Had she asked for his name? Did he just miss that part? "I'm Imri."For a while he was content to just keep a passive gaze on the ground as she walked. It would have been calming, in comparison to how he'd gotten there, if every little jostle didn't cause his teeth to clench. "Don't," In a panic, he snarled, "Don't tell her...She won't like it." It would just be another thing that Zivah wouldn't do, but Imri was inevitably going to do. Every injury, every scrap...it was just another sign that his sister was inherently better than he was. "She's gone anyway...took Zivah on a trip...Lucijah is home."

So that meant Lucijah was the name of the earthling that Ai paired with. Akeldama stored that information away in her brain and glanced down at the boy when he said his name was Imri. "Imri. I'm Akeldama, you can call me Akel." No point in making him use her long name when a nickname was just as good. Wasn't like people wouldn't know who he was talking about. The panic she heard in his tone made her give a short nod, despite knowing he couldn't see it. Akel had had the pleasure of meeting Ai a long time ago and she had figured out the type of person she was then. "I won't tell her." Even though the kid she toted around was a hybrid he was still a child of Elzira and thus deserved to be raised and treated accordingly. "I'll teach you how to avoid being bitten next time and even how to treat the bites should it happen again." At least with that then he would have a little bit of a chance. "Did you want me to let Lucijah know you were injured or no?"

Akeldama? He wasn't familiar with the name, but it didn't surprise him. There weren't many Elaria that tolerated Ai's hybrid offspring, much less the boy. He knew of the ones who made direct trade with his family, his instructors and no one else by name. His worry only dampened a touch. She seemed trustworthy, but Imri wasn't about to be fooled. As soon as he passed out she might send someone to tell Ai and then he'd wake up to her standing over his bedside. It was always better to assume the worse so he could prepare which is exactly what he should have done before ending up like this. "You can tell her." Lucijah would find out anyway when he came home; he doubted the swelling would be gone before then, anyway, and she wasn't stupid. "...Why would you teach me? What would you gain?"

She made a mental note to send Alizeh to tell Lucijah about Imri. Her daughter would likely be thrilled to go talk to an earthling. As to the question of why... well, Akel looked down at the kid as she continued to walk. "You said Ai is your mother.. you panicked when I mentioned telling her.. and mentioned that she took someone else with her on a trip.. all of that points to you not wanting to disappoint her, fearing her reaction, and semi resentment." Few things she learned while being out in the woods: how to be observant and what things could mean. Akel put those skills to use quite a bit. "I gain nothing, honestly. But you were bloomed from Elzira just as my daughters were and I refuse to believe that our Mother Tree makes mistakes." Therefore, Imri was meant to be a hybrid and a boy. Akel wasn't going to argue with Elzira about that. "So you should be taught just as much and as well as my daughters otherwise it's an insult to Elzira."
