"Oh, come the ******** on - "

Larimar sat down on the bench, put zyr head in zyr hands, and snarled out an impressive mess of expletives into zyr palms. It was late. Of course it was ******** late! That was the best time to be out - it wasn't smothering with heat and humidity, and that was when people got wild, easiest to trick them into slipping away or drain them to exhaustion. The one problem with that was -- sleeping five hours a night or eight hours a night or whatever ze was doing, it wasn't like ze kept active track of sleep times and wake times (especially when you factored in waking up three times a night at birds outside, or at cars speeding past on the nearby road, or, or, or -) worked best when supplemented by caffeine.

Supplemented by a lot of caffeine, to be specific. Ze'd gotten real familiar with how many shots you could get added on before a given barista started looking at you funny, and the answer varied more than ze'd been expecting. But adventure was, well... that was part of the spice of life, wasn't it? Or so people said, sometimes.

Ze'd turned zyr back for ten seconds, and zyr ******** coffee had gone missing. ******** fancy seasonal frappuccino with (what was probably too much) added espresso: vanished! Gone. Straight into the void. Sure, Larimar could go straight back to the Starbucks and get another one, but then ze'd have to deal with Barista Judgement, so that was a no-go. The second-nearest Starbucks was too far to justify walking for a Starbucks coffee, but man, that was a five-buck coffee, that wasn't nothing. Definitely too short of a distance to teleport, given energy cost -- ze'd use up so much more energy than ze got back...

It was looking like Larimar would have to just suck it up and go buy a second drink, but that was a real pain to even think about, so instead ze just sat there and marinated in frustration for a few minutes. Was that an aura coming zyr way? The Senshi would just have to wait: some things were less important than being properly caffeinated, and stabbing was one of them.

Which -- okay, look, yes that did make zem sound just the littlest bit psychotic, but people got stabbed every day irregardless! And Larimar usually wasn't doing it lethally, just... maybe in a way that crippled, if ze was really mad about it. Or just careless. Ze'd barely scraped by in Anatomy & Physiology all the way back in high school; doubtless all of that information had filtered out of zyr brain by this point in time.

Anyway. Uncalled-for stabbing: probably not on tonight's menu, unless a ******** up little youma guy showed up and Larimar got to command it around at some poor ******** sap. Bitching and moaning at the next person to get in zyr personal space about how a hole in the world had xnopyt'd zyr coffee out of existence as soon as ze'd turned zyr back: special discount, tonight only.

Misplaced (13) : Things are just vanishing. Maybe it’s the heat, or the chaos of the times, but even if you swear you put something somewhere, it might be gone. Maybe as quickly as you exit a room and return. Usually it’s only small things; sometimes you might hear a strange rattling just before something disappears, but once it’s gone, it’s gone. So far, it’s mostly things that aren’t too big, but recently there have been reports of cars just disappearing, too…

Things had been going missing for a few days now. Sometimes it was a drink she was drinking, or other times with a full pair of socks, and even recently she'd lost her parent's car keys for a good half a hour (though she'd found those easily enough). It was the cars though that had Iduna concerned. Whole cars had started to go missing, as though as they'd been eaten up by the ground. She suspected it was some sort of Negaverse plot, but what they could possibly need with a car of all things was beyond her. She'd have to ask Laz the next time they got together to hang out.

An aura flickered on her radar. It was stationary, about the same strength as her, and definitely Chaos. Hmmm, maybe it was Laz? Iduna was really bad at figuring out who might belong to which aura - they all sort of melded together, after all - and so the only real way to know was to go and see.

The super senshi rounded the corner and blinked. That was... a Captain just... sitting on a bench, looking like someone had stolen zyr wallet or something. Ze didn't seem particularly threatening, just frustrated.

"Are you okay?" she asked, stopping a few yards away and leaning down to try to catch zyr face. She didn't really recognize this agent, but she could tell ze wasn't a senshi, at least. And somehow exhausted.

And here she was, little miss Red <********> Riding Hood, apple-red and apple-green and pristine. She didn't seem aggressive or like she had her magic prepared, which was -- that was good. Okay. It was workable. No violence here, tonight, maybe.

"My ******** coffee disappeared into the void," Larimar said, and tried a little not to sound like ze was whining, "and if I go back to get another the barista's going to start giving me looks about my caffeine intake, like it's any of her goddamn her business how much I'm drinking." It was only a partial success. Ze did sound whiny, in a long-suffering kind of way, but it'd been a long day, alright? Ze was entitled to a little wrath.

"I'm not doing anything evil or whatever bizarre accusation you might want to throw at me," there, if she was going to say anything Larimar had now effectively preempted it, "because that's the same thing all your friends always accuse me of." And it was - usually - true, but that wasn't relevant at all, was it?

Iduna giggled a little. A Captain complaining about how ze's coffee of all things went missing. It was so mundane, such a human thing to do. She covered her mouth, trying to keep the laughter in, and failed miserably. Or hilariously. Oh Lazurite was going to have a field day learning about this!

"Stars that's... I'm so sorry, I'm not laughing at you I swear!" she said, in between giggles. "I've just never -- hehe -- encountered an officer complaining about a missing coffee, and - haha - being worried the barista is gunna judge you, before! It's just so... so... mundane that I can't help but laugh/"

Ze was so going to try to stab her now that she was laughing, but she couldn't help it! It just was too funny to her.

Iduna took a few deep breaths and calmed herself enough to stop laughing. Out loud at least.

"I... I was actually looking to see if Lazurite was over here. I usually just fight youma unless one of yours comes after me trying to kill me. Not the greatest senshi, haha..." she said, suddenly self conscious. She wasn't a great senshi was she... Iduna smacked her cheeks a few times, and reset herself. No bad thoughts right now. Nope.

"I could get you a new coffee if you're worried about being judged?" she offered. Friend the captain, so the captain didn't murder her later. Yeah.

"I have no clue who the hell Lazurite is," Larimar said, only a little maliciously and with only a little added disdain on the name (look, dropping the role entirely would be such a pain, and it wasn't as if it was entirely fake), "but yes, yes, laugh it up, officers are human too, ha."

It was a little funny. Ze could admit that much. If ze'd been in her position, ze would've been laughing too. That was classic schadenfreude, anyway; it was never as funny if ze didn't get to be the one on the outside.

"I'm not --" there were a lot of endings to that sentence, and ze hadn't actually picked out one of them, so instead Larimar just sort of trailed off. I'm not going to hand you my card. I'm not in the habit of carrying cash when I'm in uniform. I'm not - any of those. Whatever. It wasn't that important. "No. Sorry, but you're going to have to find some other poor sap being maliciously ambushed by the void to get that good samaritan stamp on your card."
