Quote: The Fireflies (6) : In the warm summer nights, little glowing lights begin to bob and dart through the city. Fireflies are mating, so this isn't uncommon in itself; in the past few days you've probably seen hundreds of fireflies. What makes these lights so unique is that they seem to change color; you might see a blue one, a green one, a red one. They flicker randomly, and something just seems off with them. If you come into contact with one, you will find yourself with a strange electric jolt. They cannot be caught, and will flicker away if you pursue too aggressively. This isn’t the first time they’ve appeared in Destiny City, but no one’s been able to tell where they came from or where they’re going. No matter how quickly you chase them, they always seem to disappear before you can find any answers.
He'd been quick to depart from any of the city's main areas of traffic after the visions. Indra didn't want to power up where there was even a chance of being seen, but as soon as he was alone, he summoned his little dirt jar and Antisana's protective guise.
The very first thing he was aware of was that he was alone. The strangeness of things appearing and disappearing had either not signaled that a youma was close by, or his frantic retreat had been enough to make it lose interest. Antisana suspected the former, but he had no way of knowing for sure. He could just be content in the knowledge that nothing he could feel was nearby. He was safe in being alone. It did nothing to calm his frantic heartbeat. It did nothing to soothe his mood. It did nothing to make him feel good.
He sat on a park bench. The area was well-decorated and well-lit despite the cover of night. A precursory glance around even revealed one or two people in the distance, enjoying an evening stroll beneath the Star Festival lights.
And there he was, sitting alone and feeling strangely shaken.
He thumbed over his ring, ever-present since he'd located it. It had never really done much for him since its retrieval. Maybe a few broadcasted messages from other senshi and knights requesting assistance, but he'd never used it to contact any of those he'd met since becoming Antisana, and similarly, no one had used it looking for him, either. ...But he thought he wanted to, then.
He didn't want to feel shaken and alone and waiting for some monster to kill him becuase he didn't have the physical or mental ability to do this forever. He couldn't confide in his family and friends; they'd be in danger if he even went near them. Even if he just wanted them to be aware of his potential disappearance soon on the horizon, he couldn't. He just couldn't do anything. Couldn't even protect himself by going to Antisana for more than a night. There would come a time, maybe not so far off, when he would just be ready for everything to be over.
But he didn't want to dwell on that for too long. He opened his space pocket, pulled out paper and pen that he kept on hand, just in case of a moment like this, and scrawled in neat, sloping script in dark ink,
'Eleonora, it has been a while.'
Nearly two months since they had visited his wonder, but even in that span of time, he still felt closer to her than to any other he'd met. She had already provided him peace once before.
'I am sorry if it is inconvenient, but I'
He had to think carefully here. Handwritten messages didn't have an undo button, and he didn't want to give the impression that he was too far removed from his ability to think and write clearly. A neat, succinct message free of scribbles or mistakes or carrying on with no point. Antisana took in a deep breath and exhaled slowly.
'was wondering if you would meet me in the park off of Main? It is not urgent. There is no danger. I hear rumor that you will only receive messages once you are powered up. For your convenience, the current time is 9:12PM. I will be here for an hour.
Thank you for your time, Antisana'
Holding his breath, because again, he'd never done this before, he folded the small square of parchment, and set it to his ring to send to Senshi of Heat. He had no reference to base off how he'd know if she received the correspondence, or if she'd be able to send a message back if she was unavailable, but... It seemed the most he could do was simply wait.

At about 9:30 Eleonora powered up. It was neither out of need nor desire but a lack of anything else going on and, simply put, it was nice weather out and she was bored. The air outside was blessedly warm and the sky was clear with a smattering of stars and constellations that could be seen without the aid of a telescope. Light pollution was still a thing, sure, but she refused to allow it to take away from this near-perfect moment. No blanket needed. She felt more than comfortable in her uniform as is and stretched both arms over her head in a relaxed fashion. Only then did she realize that there was a letter there beside her. “Oh?” her head canted to the side curiously as she reached out to open the note. Once, maybe twice, she had received a message in a similar fashion. Always from a knight and never from someone she knew which is why Eleonora felt a wash of relief when she read Antisana’s name at the bottom. Would be convenient if she could respond directly, or if they had thought to exchange phone numbers as civilians. But be it as it may, and knowing how dangerous it was for him to sit out in the open idly waiting, Eleonora wasted no time in hurting to the park he had described. Urgent or not, things could turn south quickly. “Antisana. Hey-” she raised a hand and waved from a distance once she was, sure enough, he’d hear her if he didn’t sense her approach already.

Just be patient.
Antisana inhaled. And exhaled slowly.
He didn't consider himself an impatient man. When he had his way, he preferred perfection, and that typically came with substantial time costs that he was more than willing to pay, so it wasn't like he had no practice simply waiting. But his heart still thrummed in that almost painfully anxious way. Something wrong, something wrong that he simply did not possess the ability to right. Waiting for Eleonora he could handle. It was waiting for anything else that might happen that had his teeth constantly on edge.
He felt off. Unlike himself at all. And just because of what- some latent magic in the city proper? Or because of his mother's call? He'd never minded being alone, and even thought he preferred it in most cases, but tonight just felt... especially horrible, maybe.
He felt the distance between his friends and family viscerally. Felt all the changes he'd had to make to sustain his job to keep his house and employees, to try and be safe, to try and keep the people he cared about safe. It was probably cruel of him to ask one girl to meet him anywhere, even if she was powered as he was, and even stronger than he could manage. The radiance of her aura entered the edge of his senses, and he had to remind himself patience. She would come to him.
But when he saw her, he stood to greet her, "Eleonora. Hey," he responded in turn, and Antisana found it unnerving how eager he was to move to stand in front of her.
They barely knew each other. They were hardly friends. He should feel nothing upon seeing her.
It just wasn't what he actually felt. Having someone else on his side was an immediate relief. Almost euphoric. "Hey," he whispered again, a bit softer this time. "Thank you for agreeing to meet me. I hope it is no intrusion on your time, and I wish I had more-" A pause, as his brows furrowed and he tried to properly consider what he was trying to convey. "I wish there was more of a reason, besides just wanting to be near you."

When she saw him stand, Eleonora had to resist the urge to give Antisana a hug. She held back out of consideration for him because it had been a while since they last parted ways. Currently, they were still somewhere in that weird phase between being an acquaintance and new friends. But that didn’t stop her from wanting to greet him as if they’d known each other for years. Still, Ele was more than happy to have received his message. Antisana’s reason for reaching out to her genuinely caught her off guard. She wasn’t mad about it, far from it actually. His admission was actually kind of precious in a way and was hands down the reason her face looked sunkissed even though it was nighttime. GaHAhahah, thank god for dim lights her mind cried out. “Honestly,” Eleonore waved her hands in front of her, “ it’s no intrusion at all. I’m actually glad you reached out. I was actually thinking about you a couple days ago and was kicking myself for forgetting to swap phone numbers.” Otherwise, she would have reached out to check on him much sooner to hang out, just as friends of course.

"You were thinking about me?" Antisana prompted softly, slate eyes watching her quizzically, though if he noticed her sudden flustered expression, he didn't acknowledge it.
He glanced down to his ring, which had apparently adequately gotten a message to her. This time. But it probably would be more convenient to not have to rely on Eleonora being powered up in order to communicate. Antisana was powered up often, since he needed to be able to reliably sense when youma were after him, but for most people, this powered thing was a part-time job; she probably wouldn't spend time relaxing as a senshi. ...And it would be easier to not have to physically hand-write a message.
He gave a crisp nod, before agreeing, "That might be more convenient and more reliable in a pinch." ...He would just have to be careful not to rely on her too often. It would almost be too easy, then, to contact her if he felt in danger.
Since he already had paper and pen on him, he scrawled Indra's number on a small slip before passing it to her. "Here." It was better that way. They wouldn't have to power down to have their normal, civilian phones accessible to them, and Eleonora would decide when to make the first message. Indra wouldn't have a chance to bother her until she was ready for it.
"Should we walk?" He offered, as he gave a loose gesture toward the gravely jogging path that ran through the park.
He still felt as though he were anxious to move, no matter how exhaustion tugged at him. Antisana wouldn't usually consider himself lazy, but he did enjoy peace and serenity where he could have it.. Unforunately, if he was moving, nothing would be so likely to find him, so he always felt anxious to stay on his feet. But he could probably be still for a moment, while someone was nearby to back him up, if Eleonora preferred to sit. He still wasn't sure how to broach the strange topic of just... needing to share with someone, of feeling like his family should know the reason behind his inevitable departure.
He sighed stiffly.

Eleonora stowed the piece of parchment away in her subspace pocket for the time being rather than fussing around with powering down to text him now. Granted, not taking care of it now left her open to the very real possibility that she might forget she put his number there until a few days later when she powered up next. No- she wouldn’t let that happen because, like Liryn, she actually genuinely enjoyed Antisana’s company. “I’m not in any rush. If you’d like to walk around we can, the weather is nice enough this evening that I don’t mind wandering for a while.” No direction is necessary; let the trailing lights from fireflies be their guide to places he might find peace.

Antisana nodded agreeably, setting an ambling pace down the tree-lined path. With no destination in mind and no reason to hurry, he was content to simply take a breath and try to enjoy the leisurely stroll. It wasn't like they came very often. "I have been trying to stay away from areas where people usually congregate peacefully," he admitted quietly. He didn't want to bring havoc where parents took their children to play on the swing sets, or where teenagers went for cheap first dates.
It felt somehow cruel for him to disrupt that by luring youma with whatever about him called to them. Better for him to spend his time in unpopulated areas, when he could. The forest's at the city's edge, empty warehouses, dump yards.
Hardly scenic.
...But he wouldn't be at fault for the actions of whatever came for him.
If they chose to hunt him now, Antisana expected a powerful senshi like Eleonora would be enough of a match for anything that interrupted them, so the jaunt was excusable this time. And he always felt a little more confident when he was able to travel freely. If his companion preferred not to fight, they could leave as soon as they felt an approaching aura.
"-Oh." Speaking of his wonder, and last they'd been there: "It has gotten worse. The dead spot. I thought those sorts of things were supposed to improve while I was there, but I think it is spreading farther. ...It is unfortunate that it is directly over my bed," he grumbled softly. "Have you yet been inclined to see Eleonora...?" She hadn't been, when they'd last spoken about it.

“Honestly,” she laced her fingers behind her back and looked up at the blinking firefly lights around them. Her mood had noticeably reined itself in with the new knowledge that the place he used as his sanctuary had not yet improved. “Between your wonder and my sister’s world. I’m worried about what kind of disaster I’d be greeted with if I visited Eleonora right now.” “I mentioned to Alcor what we saw on Antisana. It seems that something similar is going on with one of the entrances to a main city. She mentioned that there had been a Lieutenant there and thought his Chaos had corrupted part of her world but I doubt you’d have brought an agent here before me.” A youma by mistake, perhaps. If one of those pixies had been an unintentional tag-a-long maybe, but she doubted that was the case. They both would have sensed if they were not alone. “My sister is the Senshi of Cold and her world is comprised of mostly ice. The surface was apparently unliveable in the past so cities were constructed beneath it.” She fell silent for a moment in contemplation. “I guess I’m just worried that mine will be nothing more than a ball of fire. At least on Alcor, we can wear layers; whereas on mine, I assume, when things heat up there’s only so much I can take off and that's assuming I don’t get cooked alive.” She’d hoped that her world wasn’t to that extreme but it wasn’t a risk worth taking. Simply put, beyond the excuses, she was genuinely scared of her own world and while she’d like someone to go with her, Eleonora couldn’t bring herself to ask someone to tag along. “Who knows,” she flashed Antisana a rueful smile. “It might be worse off than both of yours because I haven’t given it the attention I should have.” Or it might be fine since she hadn’t brought anything that didn’t belong to her homeworld that might possibly corrupt it.

It wasn't his place to even offer a suggestion as to what she might do. Eleonora had been a senshi for years longer than Antisana had even been awakened. She was probably more familiar with the dynamics of senshihood than he would ever be. Even if he wanted to encourage her again to see her world because he felt unreasonably confident that it wouldn't kill her on a first visit, it simply was not his place. If something was telling her that now was not the time, there must be a reason for it.
He exhaled stiffly, gaze falling somberly. "You are the only one I have ever brought." Antisana did his best to avoid agents whenever possible. Dealing with thoughtless creatures was one thing, but aggressive humans? Humans trained to kill? It wasn't a risk he wanted to walk into. He certainly couldn't imagine bringing one to his only sanctuary.
...Provided it was a sanctuary at all, anymore. He didn't feel anything that signaled corruption on his wonder, but Antisana wasn't even sure if he would. There was obviously something growing there, and who was to say it wasn't a darkness trying to consume him, while he remained oblivious?
That would be just his luck.
"I was taken by another knight to his wonder, where the situation is similar. How could this be independently happening so many places at once?" Though, Erytheia had brought many people to his wonder at once, Antisana among them. He didn't recall seeing Eleonora among that group, but he also hadn't known her at the time. If either of the sisters had been there, could everyone have picked up some kind of Chaos parasite from their time on Erytheia? Maybe Eleonora had gotten it from Antisana and given it to her sister. Maybe it was spreading because they didn't understand how to control it.
Maybe that was just his paranoia thinking.
Antisana gave a tiny, tight shake of his head, as if dismissive the thought. He wedged his hands into the zipper-lined pockets of his pants, and glanced to her from the corner of his eye. "What happens to your powers if your world collapses in on itself with you never seeing it?"

To that, Eleonora looked up at him, her eyes searching his as if he either grew a second head or held within him a secret that he wasn’t ready to share. Had this happened to someone else already or was this just a hypothetical question? Surely, if someone’s world had collapsed there would have been a meeting on the Moon or someplace where everyone else could be warned.
But there had been no messages on her senshi phone as of late.
“I suppose-” her gaze fell away from his slate blue eyes that were a bit darker than her own. The intensity behind them and the weight of his question made her feel a bit uncomfortable; mostly because it was a thought she hadn’t considered and she felt ashamed for it.
For a short moment, she studied the row of gold pluto symbols that stood in stark contrast against the green fabric and his rich dark brown skin tone. It’d be inappropriate for her gaze to linger too long but the question he posed kind of demanded a level of consideration that left her searching for an honest reply.
Eleonora shifted beside him, troubled that she didn’t have an answer for him, and tilted her head back to look up at the blinking fireflies hovering around them. The evening night threatened to extinguish the fading lights completely only to have them return with renewed brilliance.
She drew in a deep breath and exhaled slowly.
“If my world collapses, I will cease being Eleonora.” That realization struck her hard and she couldn’t help but curl into herself a bit. “My power comes from my world, without it I’ll end up spending the rest of my life as a civilian knowing that this war is going on and know that there is nothing I can do to protect my loved ones from Chaos.”
For many moments she remained standing silently beside Antisana, her troubled expression deepening. “I don’t want that to happen. I don’t want to lose this side of myself but-” She paused, hesitant to admit her concerns but eventually let him know “I’m too scared to go alone. But I’m also worried that if I brought my sister it would be too extreme for her as her world was to me.”

It was about as honest of an answer as he might expect. If there was no planet to draw power from, how could he expect that there would still be a senshi to power up into? It was no different than a knight's situation: if there was no Code piece to supply him his power, there was no knight. Antisana had wondered if maybe senshi could maintain power without their world, since the aliens had maintained power for centuries through their world's decline... And Mauvians upgraded them when they were ready for more; the source of power itself didn't do that, unlike with him.
But presumably anyone who awakened on Earth had a world that had already been inactive for a thousand years. There was no telling what it would take for it to 'collapse,' even if he had never heard of such a thing happening. ...But there could be thousands of worlds, and any number of them could already be lost, unknown to any of them...
It was probably fine, so long as Chaos didn't find hers. Eleonora could not possibly be the only senshi who never visited her world.
They came to a stop, with Antisana pausing beside her as she studied him, his vest, his eyes. As much as it felt appropriate to console her because she seemed to need it, Antisana didn't know what he could say that would be accurate. He shook his head slightly. "I wish I knew enough to say how likely it was or not that something might happen, but I lack so much more experience than you and everyone else, it seems... But... the Code would know?" He offered a little hesitantly.
"We missed the full moon this month, but maybe next month, we could speak to it on the Moon, if you wanted. It must be wise to... countless things in the universe. Even your world, or what exactly it would take for you to lose your magic." He knew it was possible, though he had never been and never spoken to it personally. The Antisana code piece could not speak, as far as he was aware.
The thought was terrible. He would prefer death to having his knight status taken from him. Surely anyone with a functioning brain would. That would be better than being helpless. But he did wish he could share that feeling with her: of being home and safe on his wonder, even an imperfect wonder that was cold, dark, and lonely. It was still his to protect when no one else would. His sanctuary to shield him when he couldn't fight. Antisana had a few miles of cave to piddle around in, but she had a whole world of things calling for her...
"If I could give you even a fraction of this feeling, to help you understand what it could mean to you, what it could mean to your world, to see it even once, I would," Antisana admitted softly. "I would go with you, if it eased your fears..."
But his wonder already had the dead spot. He didn't want to infect hers, if it was something dangerous.
"Once it clears?" He offered. "Once I know the dead zone isn't something that is traveling on me, that I can bring to other's worlds, once I know it can be cured, and my wonder is safe, I will go with you to yours."

The passion Antisana felt for his wonder was full of hope. Inspiring and yet- Eleonora felt a pang of sadness because as much as she wanted to relate, that feeling wasn’t there. If anything, she held more desire to see other places instead of her own. I must be broken. There was no other reason to explain why she felt so apprehensive about going to her own homeworld, why she didn’t feel that pull to visit as her sister often felt. “We’ll see,” she responded quietly beside him. His wonder may never heal, that black mark may turn into an eternal scar or it may spread into something more deadly. The door on Alcor hung by its hinges, threatening to break free from the spire. Should that happen, the large carved piece of ice would break through the surface and destroy the stairwell that lead to the city entrance beneath it. Lost in thoughts about what if’s or worst-case scenarios, Eleonora absently brought her arms up and folded them beneath her chest. Without meaning to, she withdrew into herself a bit and hugged herself for a small amount of comfort. “About four- maybe five years ago or so. I was a part of a larger group that essentially invaded the Dark Kingdom. We did so under Caedus’ instructions.” She wasn’t sure if Antisana knew who that Velecian was, but it was unimportant. “We were able to retrieve the Code and a handful of starseeds. But that achievement wasn’t without loss.” “The room my sister and I were in had a massive scorpion youma and as everyone tried to fight it, the floor began to crack beneath our feet. Eventually, damage to the structure became so severe that the stones broke loose and the youma fell through first. Athene and I ran towards the door, but my sister ran the opposite way to save the Guardian Cat that awoke me, Liryn.” Eleonora’s gaze seemed far set into the distance as she recalled memories of that night. “They barely made it back. Others were not so lucky…” “In the end, Cosmos saved us. I don’t know how, but she did.” It was the first time she had been to the Moon Kingdom and honestly thought it would have been the last but last November proved otherwise. “I’ve always been under the assumption that the Code’s existence was for Knights like yourself. We’ve never found a piece on Alcor and Athene never mentioned having one on his world either.” It was something that only knights ever talked about. “It might have answers,” Eleonora turned to look up at him but her expression remained full of doubt. “If Pluto were to die, or cease to exist, then that would impact your wonder.” It would impact him and even though a fair amount of time spanned between their last meeting and now, it would sadden her deeply if he suddenly lost this part of himself. It was his only line of defense against the youma that hunted him. “When the full moon returns, we can ask.” Assuming they didn’t miss the window of opportunity again. “I want you to go with me, Antisana. I do-” Her shoulders seemed to sag in defeat. “It’s wise to wait until we know that we’re not the carriers of this dead zone that’s infecting our worlds. But it would be damned foolish of me to take you without knowing what we’d be stepping into.” Will you wait for me? the question froze in her throat. Would he stand by here and wait for her return if she could somehow find the courage to visit Eleonora. Would he be willing to take care of her if something horrible went wrong, rush her to the hospital if she came back injured? Was it too much to ask him to do such a thing? They’d only met a couple of times.

"I cannot force you..." Antisana answered back at her quiet and noncommittal response. It looked more like his offer had incited some dejected emotion, rather than anything pleasant or hopeful... She'd wanted someone to go with her, and he'd offered, but it apparently wasn't what she wanted to hear... He didn't completely understand, and he struggled to even grasp the idea that someone with a whole world of their own would want so little to do with it.
Except no one had the same struggles he did. They could just... go home at night, sleep in their bed, hang out with their friends and siblings. No one needed a safe, quiet, lonely, desecrated world, like Antisana did.
"...I apologize for bringing it up," he murmured.
He didn't know if there was anything he could say or do that would help her feel better- and he assumed something must have turned for worse because of the way she wrapped hers arms around herself- but the most appropriate thing was probably just to... gently give her an awkward shoulder pat. That would certainly remind her that she wasn't alone, but it wasn't aggressively affectionate enough to be frightening. Very acceptable, Antisana decided.
Though he was surprised to learn that the Dark Kingdom could be invaded. His brow raised a fraction. He'd always assumed it was like- Like Pluto. Not someplace you could get to simply by walking, and if you weren't granted access by the world itself, or its protectors, then it would be impossible to access. But a large group had invaded the Dark Kingdom, retrieved a piece of the Code... And been saved by Cosmos. It sounded fantastic, to be able to surprise attack the Negaverse's haven. But given this was the first he'd heard of it, and it had happened years ago, it must not be possible frequently.
Maybe not at all, anymore, if the Negaverse had done something to prevent future invasions.
"I have never spoken to the Code, or been to the Moon, or seen Cosmos, but I know the Code is what allows me to power up, and that pieces of it are scattered all throughout the galaxy. I think even the shards of it are aware of what happens around it, so even though it is the power source for Knights, I think it must have knowledge of many things, including how likely or what it would take for a world to lose the ability to power its senshi." Because she did seem so distraught, he finally thought to add, "Even if just to hear that it is unlikely."
"Pluto, at least, has many protectors to defend it, so I expect it would be more likely for Antisana to die or that Code piece to be corrupted, before the whole planet is." The corners of his lips lifted very slightly. If that were to happen, he didn't think he would be able to fret over it for long.
But he wouldn't say that out loud.
"I am only thinking of ways to assuage your concerns. If it will not help you to feel better, there is no reason to ask the Code, and no reason to see your world if it does not please you to do so. If you ever feel ready, I will be here." Provided he wasn't dead or corrupted or otherwise incapacitated.

“Honestly,” Eleonora drew in a deep breath and exhaled slowly. “Just being able to share my concerns with you helps more than you realize. I feel like I can trust you more than most.” Which said a lot considering they’d only met once, and even that was more than a couple weeks ago. Perhaps it had something to do with what happened on his wonder, how he had carefully picked her up and carried her to the bed at least where the bed should have been if not for the dark mark that was corrupting his cave. It was a sweet gesture that she thought on often, especially since if he were anyone else, they would have simply left her well alone until she woke up by herself or worse, probably. “I also think you’re right about the Code; that it will have at least some kind of answer.” Even if it wasn’t something they wanted to hear. “But that’s something we can worry about later.” She leaned sideways towards him, and bumped her shoulder against his in an almost playful manner. One of the fireflies floated close to her face and out of natural instinct, Eleonora moved to brush it away with the back of her hand. “Ahh!” Ele let out a startled yelp and rather quickly brought it to her mouth as if she’d suddenly been burned. “Zappy little b*****d.” Her lips pursed as she gave the bug a stare that promised death by her magic if it did that to her again. “Anyway, I want to show you something.” She looked up, scanning the celestial heavens above them until she found Ursae Major. “So- right there is the Big Dipper” One of the most easily identifiable constellations in the night sky and yet she still pointed up. “The second star on the handle, if you look close enough, you’ll notice two stars instead of one. It’s a binary star system one is named Alcor and the other is Mizar.” Was it wrong that she wished her world was that one instead, rather than feeling like hers was just an inferior version of her twins? “Alcor itself is a binary system as well. Our scientists have them named Alcor A, which is the one my sister is named after. The other is Alcor B, also known as Eleonora. Sometimes it feels like we are a cosmic irony; both us and our worlds are twins and yet opposites in almost every way.” Which wasn’t necessarily a bad thing since it seemed there was sime history or reason behind this. According to the old records on Alcor the two were on amicable terms with one another. “But I can see it, from here… from her world.” It just didn’t call to her in the way Alcor’s did. Perhaps she had done something wrong, committed an unforgivable sin in her past life and now it didn’t want her back.

"You do?" He prompted in a low rumble, eyeing her from beneath heavy violet lashes. Maybe it shouldn't be worth questioning? They were on the same 'side,' so there wasn't inherently any reason for her not to trust him. He'd shown her his wonder, fell dead asleep in front of her, sent her messages with his ring, gave her his actual civilian phone number. Antisana trusted Eleonora, too, but he also didn't have anyone else in this war he was particularly close to. She had years' worth of experience and connections, and her sister was a senshi, just as Ele was.
He trusted her because he needed help, and it was easy to latch onto her when she humored him as she had by agreeing to meet him this time.
But he could not fathom why she would feel anything for him at all, let alone why he would be more trustworthy than most, after two meetings. The camaraderie of danger, probably. ...Or she just felt sorry for him, like that monster-agent did. "I will... do my best not to disappoint you," he murmured quietly, chin notching up very slightly.
She was right in that they could hardly worry about trying to ask the Code anything now. The Moon was only accessible for a few days each month, and Antisana didn't actually have the means to get there... He just expected Eleonora did. He expected she knew how and was able to make that trip- And the second the thought flicked through his mind, he felt almost guilty for holding her to any expectation, while she was only being sweet and friendly with him, smiling and notching her shoulder against his, despite how he'd made her so upset about her world just moments prior.
Antisana exhaled in a puff, blowing strands of violet hair out of his face. He still wasn't especially great at this 'friend' thing, probably.
Her sharp exclamation made him jolt, and his head snapped around comically quickly to pinpoint for the cause. 'Zappy little b*****d.' Eleonora didn't seem more concerned about it than the immediate shock, but Antisana's heart thrummed.
Something there that shouldn't be- he didn't know of any lightning bugs that actually zapped people, and even though he didn't sense anything out of the ordinary, that did absolutely nothing to bring him relief. His expression was trained, jaw tense as the senshi pulled them aside to look toward the sky, and if Antisana used that to just very slightly notch her farther away from the immediately visible bugs, she probably wouldn't notice.
His head canted up. Indra had never been particularly interested in space or stars. He probably wouldn't have known any of them if not for all of this, but his slate gaze trailed the line she pointed, following the shape of the constellation until he thought he was probably looking at Alcor. She could see her world from here- or her sister's world, at very least. And all- or most, or just even just some would still be hundreds or thousands- of those shining little pinpricks in the sky were worlds that had once been flourishing with life. Maybe some still did.
"It... is amazing, isn't it?" He asked softly. They were just two people on one planet full of billions of people, and who knew how many more living worlds with billions of people were out there? Even if they were 'special' senshi and knight among the bunch, they would still never be anything but insignificant in the whole scheme of things.
Maybe that should be a demoralizing thought, but it brought him an inexplicable sense of peace.
