It might just be the worst part of the summer. People are passing out regularly, and the hospitals are getting too many admissions to keep up with. It’s probably just the heat and not anyone up to anything nefarious, right? Better stay hydrated and try to keep cool, and maybe avoid everyone in weird costumes, just in case. Alexander had come from where it was truly hot in the world, but heat caught up in a city was something special. His office and home were fine to be in for a time, but leaving them quickly turned his suit into an overly damp mess from all the sweat. How was anyone supposed to get work done like this? After a couple hours and two outfit changes, he had just called it quits for the day. Thin, breathable shorts and sandals were half of the real answer, and being near water was the other half. Just being near the reservoir helped, the cool breeze as the wind picked up some of the water and wafted it over his bare skin. That was much better. A few hours here, until the sun goes down more, and he'd head back home to hide out the rest of the day from the heat. Looking for a spot, it sure was crowded, his eyes snapped back to a familiar figure. Anna! He took a step forward and stopped. Was it awkward to run into her before their actual date? This wasn't weird. Things happen. Right? Totally. "Hey, Anna!" He waved to her and the dogs gently, making his approach as calm as he could. There was a little bit of a hurry in those steps, maybe. "Trying to beat this heatwave too, huh?"

She was melting. The dogs were melting. She was pretty sure the sky was melting. Don't get her wrong, she loved the heat, but she was melting and it just didn't stop. Granted, she'd been in this city long enough to know this was some sort of magical heatwave - because it always was - but did it have to be so... hot?
One of the great udongon dogs laying next to her rolled over and barked. Dellinger was the bigger of the two dogs, with blue tinged fur. Managarsomr, the sleeping one to the right, was more of a gray, and a lazy little s**t if you asked Anna. The two dogs looked rideable for Anna, and that was saying something giving the woman was 6'3" and corded muscle. She rolled her head back and looked at the owner of the voice that followed the bark.
Huh, so Alex had found her out here? She gave a wave and jostled Mana out of the way so he could sit down. For her part, she'd worn the lightest pair of board shorts she owned, a bikini top under an open button front (which was more to be able to go into places than to protect her skin) and her combat boots, which were currently off and to the side. Anna had spent an hour braiding her long mop of hair into a series of tight viking braids, and then pinned them into a bun to keep it off her neck. The shades completed it, and every piece of silver in her ears and nose glinted in the sun. Oh and she definitely was wearing a pair of brown wolf ears and a brown wolf tail.
"Fancy meetin' you here. Oh, thanks for the help with the litter that one time. All the kitties at the shelter appreciated it," she said with an easy grin and leaned back on her hands. Dellingr growled and she growled back. "Oh shut it, Del. He's a friend."
The dog narrowed his eyes at Alex and rolled over onto his side, still watching the man. Mana let out a sigh and kept on sleeping.

Alex smiled again as he moved up the space she had jostled Mana out of, dropping into it with a long sigh. "Thank you," he said with a nod of his head towards Managarsomr. He leaned back in the seat, resting on his arms stretched out behind him, looking up at the sky with a heavy squint as he tried to block out the sun somewhat. Eventually his eyes just closed, seemingly more content with darkness than with the actual brightness of it all. "And hey, happy I could help with the litter. I'm glad they all appreciated it, I'll gladly stop in one day so they can tell me in person." He laughed, grinning to himself. "So, was the heat getting bad at your place too, or just wanted to take advantage of the reservoir being open?""My place was heating something bad, even with the AC on. I'm trying to just beat it out until the sun is lower, then head back. Figured some light swimming may help."
