If your wish is private, you may write it on the paper and choose a spot in the park and bury it yourself instead of hanging it on the tree.
Maybe it would come true.
She’d go on a patrol tonight too. Be a good example of what a senshi was supposed to be…and everything would turn out well.

There were so many things that were simply maybe and…she honestly hated it.
The tree was far busier in the daytime than it was at night, and with a sigh, Indiana picked up a Fuschia Charm…the same one that Sappho had picked and with another sigh, she went for one of the wishing stars, knocking into the boy next to her.
“Ah. s**t. I’m sorry. I wasn’t…” Paying attention? Obviously. Looking where she was going? Even more obviously.
“I’m just not smart today. Are you okay?”

Andreiya wasn’t used to holidays or events like this. He’d sort of been caught up in a whirlwind of city wide excitement and he was still struggling to understand it all. He’d come into town for some supplies and, while he’d picked those up, he’d also wound up with twice as many things he didn’t need. Star themed pastries, a drink, a charm.
Someone had to explain to him what the Wishing Tree was, and of course he’d come to investigate. He didn’t have any wishes–not really. Not something he could share with humans.
What were they going to do, magically save his home?
He’d been trying to figure out how this worked when he was jostled, and he immediately went on guard–only to relax when he realized it was an accident and not another attack.
“I am fine,” he said, although he was still a bit guarded. “Are you okay or were you just excited? Magic and wishes and stars seem to make people very energetic.”

“I…” Was she okay? Indiana shrugged when she found she couldn't find a definite answer and then sighed. “My mind’s focused on some other things, I suppose. I thought I was going to get a girlfriend but. It turns out that she was just playing with me and already had a girlfriend so. I’m. Not all…” She tapped the side of her head and grimaced.
“Not really all here at the moment, if you can understand that. I know that I can’t understand it so. There’s that but.”
But damn, this poor stranger that she had run into didn’t need to know any of this. “I…already hung one of my wishes but. I figure that I’ll just bury this one. It might be neat to see what seeds are embedded in the paper, yeah?”
She never really had a green thumb before but. She was willing to try. “...What do you think you’ll wish for?”

Nothing he could tell her, really. He doubted she’d understand if he told her the truth, and he wasn’t going to put in the effort to make a convincing lie.
“I can’t say with certainty that wishes are real. I came to investigate. But also I heard they put seeds in the paper and I thought that sounded interesting, so I wanted to plant them and see what would grow. I don’t have any wishes that anyone can grant, but I’d still like to grow something.”
And, he could grow it. He could grow anything.
The problem was just making sure it could grow anywhere.
“I’m sorry to hear about your girlfriend trouble. That sounds like too much work. I think I’d rather die alone.”

“Even if they’re not real, you can still make them. That’s why they make them with the seeds in them. If you have a wish that you’re not willing to put on the tree or that’s something just for you to deal with…you just write it down and plant the seeds. It’s cute, I think.”
Indiana hesitated when he talked about how he would rather die alone, and she snorted at the thought. “...I mean. Yeah. Sometimes I wonder if that might not be a better option, honestly. But…one day I hope that I can find happiness and someone who wants to actually be with me. And if I can’t…well. I’ll figure out the best way for me to die alone and be happy, I suppose.”
She fingered the strange paper of the wishing star and sighed. “...I hope that yours grows into something cool. I wish you the best too, you know. With everything. Not just. Relationship…s**t.”
Indy sighed and then held out a hand to the boy. “I’m Indiana. It was really nice meeting you, and I hope all of your wishes come true. You deserve it.”

He hesitated for a moment, not because he didn’t know what to do with her hand but because he wasn’t sure he was the best person to give any sort of response. She seemed upset, and he really wasn’t the best person to…
Well, work out emotions with.
He tended to clam up with his own and got a little testy when his own feelings were hurt. He probably didn’t have the best coping mechanism–getting cranky and then running off for a good cry probably wasn’t a very impressive response. He wasn’t going to tell her that was how he reacted, either. It wasn't like she was asking for advice, anyway!
“...I’m Andrei,” he answered, and might have been proud of himself for not slipping up and using the wrong name if he hadn’t also felt a little bad for her.
“If it is important for you to find someone, I am sure you will. You should try bumping into girls more often. It is a very good conversation starter. I did not intend to have any conversation with anyone out here today, but this has not been unpleasant. You seem like a nice person. Would you like me to push you into that girl over there? She is aesthetically pleasing, yes?”

Indy blinked and then laughed softly, glancing over at who he was talking about and shaking her head. “She is! She really is, but I’m okay. I’m glad that I met you, Andrei.” She felt a little bit better, and that…was actually really nice. “I’m going to head out but, I hope that you have a good day!”
Maybe they could meet again, and maybe they could be friends but…not today.
Today was for Indy going and making selfish wishes and drowning her sorrows in milkshakes.
And that was just what she was gonna do.
