The Fireflies (6) : In the warm summer nights, little glowing lights begin to bob and dart through the city. Fireflies are mating, so this isn't uncommon in itself; in the past few days you've probably seen hundreds of fireflies. What makes these lights so unique is that they seem to change color; you might see a blue one, a green one, a red one. They flicker randomly, and something just seems off with them. If you come into contact with one, you will find yourself with a strange electric jolt. They cannot be caught, and will flicker away if you pursue too aggressively. This isn’t the first time they’ve appeared in Destiny City, but no one’s been able to tell where they came from or where they’re going. No matter how quickly you chase them, they always seem to disappear before you can find any answers.
Tyrannosaurus found of all the places she could patrol, the parks and more natural areas of the city called her the most. Of course, these places seemed to also be a prime target of chaos-oriented folks, and monsters particularly enjoyed all the hiding places and high vantage points. Trees were the best of both worlds, and she usually found herself eying them warily as she passed.
Tonight, however, her eyes were almost exclusively glued to the ground. Twice, in fact, she had bumped directly into one of those trees she usually was so careful about.
But the little glowy bugs were so COOL. Unfortunately, her attention span could just not allow her to focus on patrolling and doing serious things when there were shimmery little rainbow bugs just asking to be chased and played with. It was not like she felt any other auras just yet, and she had not heard anyone calling for help or even any suspiciously dangerous sounding growls in the shadows. So clearly things were fine.
Chasing the impressively difficult to catch and follow glowy happiness bugs was priority.
Sometimes she wondered if her Senshi name was rubbing off on her a bit too much, but she doubted her brain could shrink any smaller than it already was. A lot of people would even concur it was as small as it could get, anyway, though she did not much like those people. Whatever the case, she was perfectly happy in the simple delight of chasing fireflies.
