Heatwaves (11) : An unfortunate dry spell has come over Destiny City, and a heat wave has made it all but unbearable. The heatwave is only projected to last for a week but it’s been rough. Plants are wilting, people are wilting. The city is experiencing blackouts, which isn’t helping. Thankfully, the reservoir is always open. Just, crowded. It might just be the worst part of the summer. People are passing out regularly, and the hospitals are getting too many admissions to keep up with. It’s probably just the heat and not anyone up to anything nefarious, right? Better stay hydrated and try to keep cool, and maybe avoid everyone in weird costumes, just in case.

Morpheus was out in the heat searching for energy with his wrath in order to gather a little more power. He had power to gain and a mirror world to repair. He couldn't rest on his laurels since he had already been doing that for a long time when he had been hurt and had forgotten he was a dark mirror at all. He had gathered no energy for a long time at that point. He had a lot of ground to make up so heat wave or not he had things to do. He was hanging out at the reservoir in the shadows taking advantage of the situation to hide his activities.

It was still gross out. Sappho had made the executive decision that tonight, she was going to patrol by the reservoir, because if she got too uncomfortable, she could just throw herself into the water and swim around a little. Like, sure, there were supposed to be monsters in the water or whatever, but also.
It was ******** hot.
She could feel another Dark Mirror aura nearby, and she hummed.
"Hey! Who's out there!" She called, casually. There probably weren't many people to drain, so better not to compete or anything silly like that.

Morpheus stepped out of the shadows at the female's request and said "I'm super senshi Morpheus." He paused and looked her over he didn't think he needed to mention what he was. They all had keen senses. So she should be able to tell they were of the same court. That didn't necessarily mean anything so he had to be careful. "Well then what do you want?" He asked it was hot and he didn't want to stand around here for no reason chatting with this girl.

Alright, well, rude. But that was okay. Not everyone was going to be an instant bestie, even in the Court! So, okay, Sappho just....had to be polite, she guessed, and tolerate this dude being a total petty b***h.
"I'm Sappho," she introduced herself, "Senshi of Violets. I was just kinda curious, feeling a courtmate hanging around, and wanted to see if you wanted to chat?" She shrugged her sohulders. "I mean, if you're too busy to have a conversation, I can leave, just, y'know. Making connections. Networking. Meeting people. Or whatever."
Ugh, it was way too hot to tolerate some dude's unpleasant attitude on top of the awful temperature. If this Morpheus guy didn't want to play nice, she'd just. Go.

Morpheus looked at the girl strangely. "Alright if you want to chat we will chat, what did you want to talk about?" He asked. It was really too hot for such a strange conversation but he decided to forgive her anyway. "I was just planning to use the heat as a cover to gather energy from the civilians since many are fainting anyway in this heat, no one will know the difference." He looked at her "Are you out here in this heat just trying to network?" He asked cocking his eyebrow at her. It was kinda strange to hear.

Sappho frowned, slightly. It felt a little bad, thinking about draining from people in this weather--like, yeah, okay, she had intended to do it herself, but having it put in such stark relief...
"I feel like we'd have to be careful about that," she said. "Like...I dunno, I wouldn't want to accidentally get someone hurt? I mean. I was mostly out here to drain energy myself, just." She shook her head. "Whatever. I wanted to like, do Senshi things, the networking was just a bonus since you happened to be here."
She shrugged.
"But, uh! We could stick together for a little, just in case someone wants to get in our way?"

He nodded in agreement "Yea I don't want to hurt anyone either, taking just enough to get by and help my mirror space." He shrugged and then said "We don't have to drain energy right now if you don't want to, there are strange things to see all over the city currently. Rainbow falling stars, rainbow fireflies, energy-draining could wait for a cooler day." He suggested. He wasn't bothered by this girl. She was a little awkward but he could relate to that he didn't always say the right thing either, after all he had recently gotten in an argument due to his lousy social skills. It was kinda nice to get along with someone else for a moment.

Sappho nodded. Good, good, they were at least in agreement about that. Never take too much, just what you need, or they'd be no different than the Negaverse.
Eugh, the very thought made her feel ill. She would never want to lower herself to those standards. Tantalus had told her so many stories, of the Negaverse's cruelty, all of which always sounded so...eugh. And Murikabushi had just reinforced her deeply negative opinion of them.
"It is pretty wild this time of year," she said. "We could walk around a bit, see what's up. Or, hey, we could also take a dip in the reservoir, since it's so hot out? There's supposed to be some kind of creature, I heard, and it'd be pretty cool to find a cryptid." And if it was a youma, she'd probably destroy it, because those things had the munchies pretty bad, when it came to Senshi, and she was not willing to be munched upon.
Anyway, it seemed that even if her first impression had been a little bit negative, this guy was pretty alright. A lucky thing that she'd run into him after all.

Morpheus chuckled "Might make sense to power down if we are doing that, wouldn't it be odd to swim in uniform?" He asked curiously. He never considered swimming in the outfit he was wearing. He wondered if she would freak out at the suggestion that they reveal who they really were to each other. "What sort of cryptid?" He asked again wondering what it might be this time. "I'm good to hang out with you, powered or civilian if you are willing to."

Sappho shrugged. "I didn't exactly bring a siut with me, and the magical dress dries off a lot easier than my regular clothes," she said, "so I think I'll just be splashing in like this."
It was nice, actually, to have someone to hang out with.
"It's supposed to be some kind of like, Nessie-Champ-lake-monster-thing? Dunno much about it, that's not really my thing, but I've heard a lot of rumors lately." She laughed, and started walking towards the water, beckoning for Morpheus to follow. "Come on, let's cool off."
