Quote: Misplaced (13) : Things are just vanishing. Maybe it’s the heat, or the chaos of the times, but even if you swear you put something somewhere, it might be gone. Maybe as quickly as you exit a room and return. Usually it’s only small things; sometimes you might hear a strange rattling just before something disappears, but once it’s gone, it’s gone. So far, it’s mostly things that aren’t too big, but recently there have been reports of cars just disappearing, too… The heat was slowly killing him, Tobias knew that for a certainty. The fact that he had just put down his credit card and now it was missing wasn’t helping the whole killing him thing.
He thought he heard it fall maybe? Clatter against the desk but he couldn’t move the stupid thing on his own…not without knocking everything off of it, at least.
With a disgruntled sigh, Tobias stuck his head out of the room. “Oy! Anyone who’s here, could you help me move my desk for a minute?”
Hopefully someone was home. Hopefully it wasn’t Zac. Not that he had any real issues with Zac now but. Old grudges were hard to get over. And…for as much as he loved him, he half hoped it wasn’t going to be Evan either, and well, he was sure it wouldn’t be. He had just visited the food truck and eaten lunch with the male so. That was impossible but.
Ah well.
He turned the flashlight on his phone on and tried to peer behind the desk, hoping to see the misplaced card but…
The damn thing must be flat against the desk.
Of course.

Ahri whined as he collected all his hair and attempted to tie it up and off his ******** heat. He was on the last tie twist when Tobi called out for help. "Gimme a sec~" He called out, finishing the ponytail, and taking a second to appreciate the difference. ******** hair. Maybe he should cut it? "What's up T??" Leaning against the door frame he watched the other. "What's wrong with your desk??"

Tobias winced slightly at the nickname but just sighed in the most dramatic way possible. “I’m pretty sure my damn credit card fell behind it, but I’m afraid if I move it alone I’ll knock everything off of it. Can you help me lift it and pull it out a few inches maybe? I know I heard something and I hope what I heard was it falling behind the desk…either that or I’m crazy.”
He rubbed the bridge of his nose. “Honestly? Could be both with the way the day’s been going. Anyway, I’d appreciate the help, and I know you have the muscles to do it.”
He moved back to the other side of the desk and gripped the edges, as though hoping by doing so he could get Ahri to help just by starting without him.

"How the hell did you knock it behind your desk? That's more a me move.." He shot Tobi a curious look. How odd. "... Are you okay?" He asked, copying the other's motions and gripping his end of the desk and moving a few inches. Needless to say, the other looked frazzled. "I mean, besides this fuss. What's gone on with your day?" He didn't like seeing the other's stressed. Though Ahri felt like his fretting over the others only added to their stress. "You uh... you... you don't have to tell me. I was just trying to..." The other man sighed and shut up.

“It’s just too damn hot, that’s all. And I don’t want to go through the fuss of having to get a new card.” Tobias sighed, moving the desk with Ahri’s help and peering behind it, frowning and using his flashlight once again to try and see what…obviously wasn’t there.
He huffed and then crawled under the desk, half hoping that maybe it ended up underneath somehow but…still nothing.
With a sigh, Tobias rolled over on his back, staring up at the desk drawer. “Just leave me here, Ahri. Leave me alone to die. It’s too hot today, and now my card has vanished into the void. I literally put it on the desk because I was about to buy something online and went to take a pee and. Now look at me. My life is absolutely over. I’m doomed. And I don’t know–” He tried to sit up and smashed his head on the top of the desk, hissing in pain and scooching out. “...********. I…I put it right there on the front corner so I don’t know how it could have fallen down the back of it. Maybe I’m just absolutely losing my mind.”

"Do... you wanna go somewhere to cool off? ...Go get ice cream or something?" This wasn't... slightly awkward. Nope. Ahri leaned over the edge of the desk, as if that was going to magically let him see anything. "... There's no gaps in the molding is there? It didn't slide between that and the wall?" He watched Tobi's theatrics with a lopsided grin. "I'm not leaving you." Ahri huffed lightly. "We'll find it, and your life is absolutely not over. It will be fi-" His words were cut off with a hiss as Tobi smacked his head into the drawer. "Jesus Tobi..." That was definitely gonna leave a bump. "Lemme see??" " Hey. Tobi, listen. You're not losing your mind. It's just a bad day. We'll find it. There's enough eyes in this house, someone will see it. It's gonna turn up."

“If we’re going to get ice cream…I hope you’re paying, Ahri. You opened your mouth so.”
He tilted his head for the other male to look at the bump, sighing softly. “It is a bad day.And I would like ice cream. If you really want to go get some with me, I’d love that. Maybe…if it decides not to melt on the way, we could bring some to Evan and Talia too. They’re both working the truck. I’m sure they’d appreciate it.”
He glanced at Ahri and even managed a little smile. “If you’d be up for it, that is.”

Ahri rolled his eyes with another huff. "Tobi, you just miss placed your card. Did you think I would seriously leave you to pay. Of course I'm paying.
Sighing, Ahri pushed Tobi's bangs out of his face. "You've definitely got a knot on your head, and it's gonna bruise... But it is my opinion you will be fine. Sides, I think your hair will cover most of it." He said with a grin, even being dramatic enough to kiss the other's forehead, as if making it better. "I will, however, still get you ice cream." He nodded, moving out of Tobi's way so he can get up off the floor. "We can bring them some if you want." The truck was probably still hot. Even with whatever AC or fans it had in it.
"Come on, ya big lug." He said, offering a hand to the other man.

Tobias paused with the kiss but didn’t say anything about it. He did give a little smile though, and perhaps there was a faint flush to his cheeks but. It wasn’t something he would owe up to. “Yeah, yeah. All right. Make me feel better then. I’ll allow it this once. I’m sure they’ll both be happy to see us anyway.”
He took the hand and stood, stretching and rubbing his head ruefully. “I’m ready when you are. Just need to put on shoes and my flip flops are by the door.”
It was too damn hot for anything but those.

"Probably best to avoid telling Evan about that for now though. You know how he fusses." Ahri had to resist the urge to swat Tobi's hand away from the bump instead settling for a gentle scolding. "Leave it be." Ahri followed Tobi to the door, snatching up his wallet along the way.
