Danalite liked the Dark Mirror Court. Of course she did, with her brother and sister both being members of it, and strong ones at that!
So when she was on a solo patrol…as most of them were, and she saw a figure in black with pretty purple overlays hanging down, she headed over, raising a hand in greeting. “Hey! You’re one of the Dark Mirrors, right? I’m Captain Danalite, my siblings are both a part of your court! Are you doing okay? Need any help with anything? I’m totally willing and able to take the starseeds of anyone who’s hurt you, just so you know!”
She grinned and held her hand out when she was close enough, hoping that this girl wouldn’t be afraid of her. It happened sometimes and she would understand it, but she hoped it wouldn't be the case.
“I really do mean it when I say I like your court, and I’ll go out of my way to protect you if the need arises so, just…keep me in mind yeah?”

There were a lot of things Sappho expected out of the Negaverse. An offer of protection--one that included murder--well.
That was, uh, new.
She blinked, and then she broke into a smile. Sure, it was a little weird, but it was nice, wasn't it? And besides, if she freaked out, this might go bad fast, and Sappho was not about to make a situation go bad when it didn't need to.
"Wow, that's really sweet of you," she said. "I'm fine right now, but I'll remember you if I ever get in trouble! I'm Sappho, it's nice to meet you, Captain Danalite." She took the extended hand and shook it, cheerily. Having an ally this...pointy would probably be useful someday, she figured.

Danalite looked so pleased by the smile, and squeezed the girls’ hand gently. “I wonder if you know my siblings? My brother is Sailor Arnica, and my sister is Sailor Kibirev! She’s an eternal, I know that much, and my brother is a super rank, so, they’ve been around a bit. If you don’t know them, I’m more than happy to set up an introduction? I feel like you should at least know people in your own faction, you know?”
She drew her hand away and hesitated. “What’s your sphere, Sappho? Do you want to try your magic on me? My brother’s the sphere of mandragora and his magic is vicious. I’d love to see yours if you’re willing?”
It couldn’t be worse than Arnicas. Or Adonis. Not much could be as bad as Adonis’ magic. She gave a slight shudder at the memory.

Sappho blinked. "I actually know Kibirev really well, uh." She really, really hoped that it didn't turn out that Danalite was like, overprotective or anything, because that would be awkward. "She's my girlfriend, we've been dating for a while."
She smiled, fondly.
"So, yeah--definitely know her pretty well." She laughed. "Anyway, my sphere is Violets, and my magic's not that impressive? But, uh! Violet Innocence!"
She let the magic bloom from her hands, to swirl around the Captain. Quote: Sappho speaks the name of her attack, winks, and blows a kiss at one opponent within six feet of her. A spiral of violet petals swirls around them, and they find that suddenly, Sappho seems more innocent and harmless, and less dangerous. This attack last for 25 seconds, and can be used three times per battle.

Danalite’s face lit up. “Oh! Oh s**t really?” She grinned, looking terribly pleased. “Well! That’s fantastic then, you’re family. I’d be doubly ready to protect you then. And…good!”
She continued to grin even as the magic washed over her, but there wasn’t anything…different that seemed to happen. No pain, no urge to throw up, no fire. No feeling like her skin was peeling…so…
“I’m not really sure that it worked, Sappho…but that’s okay. Just call me when you want to patrol, yeah? I’ll come with you to make sure you’re safe. We can hang out and bring Kibi with us and just have a great time! We won’t let anything ever happen to you!”
Ah. It was so great to have more family to keep safe and to protect and to just. Adore!

Okay, good, Danalite was not mad or weird or overprotective about her sister. That made Sappho feel much, much better. In fact, it seemed like not only was she not mad, she was actually happy to meet her.
Called her family.
Sappho had a family, but it was nice to have an even bigger one.
"I will definitely call you if I ever need help," she promised. That was easy to promise. Someone who had actual knives and who liked her? Yes, please, Sappho would take having that at her beck and call. "And, uh--!" She exhaled. "My magic mostly works on people who are mad at me, which you are obviously not. Makes them see me as more like...cute and innocent and harmless?" She shrugged.
"Someday I'm gonna use that to knee somebody in the solar plexus, but, like. Not today, obviously." She perked up. "Anyway, it's been really cool meeting you! And I'd love to meet you and Kibi to patrol together!"
Safety in numbers, that was always a good idea. Patrolling alone meant that Sappho was vulnerable, but if she was with other people, then she wouldn't have to look over her shoulder nearly as much.
Yeah, that was a way better arrangement.

She paused. “Oh. Is that why I felt an even more overwhelming need to protect you? Well, s**t. Use that when I’m with you and I’ll just pull everyone’s starseeds. It’ll be perfect.”
Dana winked and stretched slightly. “I should be getting home, but I’m sure I’ll see you around.” She paused and then looked at Sappho with a grin that didn’t quite meet her eyes. “...I’m sure that I don’t have to give this shovel talk but, please keep in mind, if you make Kibi cry, I’ll eat your starseed happily and nobody will find your body.”
She clapped Sappho on the shoulder and gave a nod before teleporting away, pleased with how the night had gone.

Sappho stared at the place where Danalite used to be. Her heart had leapt to approximately rocket speed as soon as she was so casually threatened--a shovel talk she had not, in any way, been prepared for.
"Uh," she said to the empty air, and then she shook her head.
The good news was, she had no intention of ever hurting Kibirev, so that wasn't a problem and she was in absolutely no danger from Kibirev's homicidal Negaverse sister. The bad news was, Kibirev had a homicidal Negaverse sister and Sappho was already pretty dedicated to being a good girlfriend?
but she was gonna redouble her efforts. Just to be sure.
