Arriving on Ilse was a breath of fresh air. This time, her planet dropped her right in the garden; she recognized the bush that she had so carefully tended into bloom.
It really was beautiful; the kind of garden that rivaled European states, sprawling and lined with magnificent rosebushes. And while most of them were dead, directly in front of her, spreading out from the one she'd tended...
"Lysi, look! They're blooming! They're really blooming!" Ilse clapped her hands together and bounced on her toes. "That means I...I actually..." Her eyes welled up. "I really did do something, last time I was here."

Lysithea stared at the roses and smiled brightly, watching the flowers for a few more moments before she wrapped her arms around Ilse, squeezing her tightly. “Of course you really did do something. Ilse. You really do a lot of amazing things. You are amazing. You’re so kind and talented and funny and sweet.” She hesitated and pressed a kiss to her temple with each word, feeling a little electric buzz each time she did so.
“Not to mention beautiful. Inside and out. You helped save me, you’re the glue that holds your world together. Of course it’s going to come back to life with you tending to it. There’s no need to doubt yourself, Ilse. This is your destiny.”
And Lysithea was just…so happy that she was finally on the right path for it. Ilse deserved nice things.

It felt real, now. These beautiful blue roses--an impossibility on Earth--were growing here, without her input. Or without more of her input than the careful trimming and tending that she had done her first time.
"I can't believe..." Her eyes watered with happy tears, and she slung her arms around Lysithea, squeezing her close. There was so much wonder, here. So much special, things that she never would have had if she'd stayed Chaos. If she'd never met Lysithea and felt brave enough to try to run away.
"I...I mean, I know you're right, I just...I guess I never thought of myself as very special. Not that kind of special, at least." She glanced over her shoulder, back at the bushes, and gasped.
Buzzing among the flowers were bees. Little, bright blue bees, that she hadn't noticed at first glance, because they were almost the same color as the flowers.
Pollinators.
"My...my world is alive."

Lysithea huffed softly and wanted to say another retort to Ilse. To make it clear that of course things were this way but…
It was so strange. Having feelings for things, but no memories to draw upon to prove her point but.
She swallowed and wrapped her arms around the other senshi’s shoulders. “It is alive. And it’s beautiful, Ilse…I’m so proud of you. This is amazing…”
Was her world doing the same thing? Were there bees and roses? Or did her corruption halt anything like that from ever coming to be? Swallowing hard again, Lysithea buried her face in the crook of Ilse’s neck. “...It’s amazing. You’re amazing and I hope that you know that…I’m. This.”
…Oh god.
It hurt. It hurt and she had no idea why it was doing so. This…was stupid. Stupid and utterly unprecedented.

Ilse smiled, warm and happy. This was...this was so perfect. She'd gotten to show Lysithea her planet, gotten to share the beauty and wonder of her world with her best friend. Her crush, her...ugh.
She adored Lysithea, was the point, really, and she would take whatever Lysithea wanted to give her, be that friendship, romance, or something else.
"I bet your world is even prettier," Ilse said, softly. "We should go, sometime. See what it's like. Do a little exploring." She turned her head, and gently pressed a kiss to Lysithea's hair. "Your world has to be at least as pretty as its Senshi, right? So it's gotta be amazing." She reached up to gently pet Lysithea's hair. It seemed obvious to her that she had to be speaking the truth--and surely Lysithea had made steps forward with her world, before she corrupted. So there had to be amazing things there for them to find.

Lysithea hummed, giving a little sigh and feeling pleased that she had hidden her face. Ilse didn’t need to be upset by her feelings right now. This strange, stupid, useless jealousy that did nothing for anyone.
“I’d love to go up there with you. I know that the grass is purple. I went there for a little while already but. I didn’t see any roses or bees. Just pretty purple grass.”
Her voice was muffled and she gave a soft sigh. “I’m glad you could share this with me, you know. I’m so glad that it worked. That you got out. I…I’m so glad that I get to be your friend again. That we get to be together like this.”
Even if it wasn’t what her journals had said…it was still nice. And her head tingled from where Ilse had kissed it…and that was so nice too.

"Purple grass..." Ilse sighed. "That sounds so pretty," she said, and she meant it. "I can't wait to see." She reached up and gently twirled a strand of Lysithea's hair around a finger, smiling fondly the entire time.
"I think...I think I'm really lucky that I met you, Lysithea," she said, softly. "You make me really happy, you know that? And there's no one else I'd rather share this with." It was as close as she dared to a confession of the feelings that still made her heart ache sometimes. But the ache was softening, to something quiet and ever present.
She lived. She breathed. She loved Lysithea, and that love was not going to go away. Even if it wasn't returned. It didn't have to be, to be worthwhile.
"So...thank you. So much."

“You make me really happy too…and I’m not going anywhere. Not if I can help it, at least.”
…And maybe she would start looking into how she could help it. If she could find a way to make sure she wouldn’t get pulled back into the cesspit that was the Negaverse…but.
“Can I just. Stay like this for a while, Ilse? I’m comfortable here with you…and I know that. I mean. I’m tired.”
It was a confession that she hadn’t really wanted to admit but…it was so very true and she couldn't help it. “I’m just so tired and…a little time to rest would mean the world to me.”
And if she could just rest here for a moment…maybe that would be enough.

"Good," Ilse said, softly.
Gently, she guided them towards a low bench. Once, she was sure, it had been nicer, probably decorated and cushioned, but the cushions were gone and all that was left was carved stone. Still, it was better than standing.
"We can stay, for a while. Sit down, relax. Rest." There was so much to do on Earth, always. Any moment of respite was precious, Ilse felt. "However long you need. However long you want."
Whatever she could do, Ilse would do it.
