Tyrannosaurus, in most video game iterations, were powerful bad guys. Usual the one-hit kill variety that one needed to plan how to kill and could not just run at and punch to death. Unfortunately, the Senshi Tyrannosaurus was not quite so strong, and also had never been good at planning. So she could neither defeat a Tyrannosaurus in a one on one fight, nor emulate one in her own battles.
It was like being caught between a rock and a hard place, or in this particular moment, a swing set and a bench.
Groaning, T-Rex got to her feet and dusted her pants off as she gathered her senses. They had been sent sprawling from her in various directions when the youma, a hulking set of shoulders and arms atop four dainty legs akin to a massively disproportionate minotaur, back handed her across the park. It clearly did not consider her an apex predator of any sort, and her tactical ability was severely diminished as her thoughts struggled to be heard over her screaming headache.
Fighting stuff, she was quickly learning and with startling regularity, was incredibly difficult. She was sure it was not because she was bad at it, she just needed to raise her level higher so to speak. That was her normal tactic in most JRPGs, after all. Over level to success. The only way to do that was to get experience and, as far as she knew, the only way to do that was leaping into battles and hoping for the best.
Eventually she would have to win some. Either way, she was learning. She hoped. Of course, all it felt like she was learning was how to endure getting her butt handed to her over and over.
"Alright, tough guy," she grumbled, adjusting her hat. "Let's try this again."

Spei heard the fight at about the same time he felt it, practicing his parkour moves near the park. He wondered why so many people either didn't hear or ignored such battles, and came to the conclusion that people simply chose to ignore things that didn't make sense to their version of reality. Maybe that was why the forces of Chaos had been able to get such a strong toe-hold on Destiny City. Approaching the scene of combat, he beheld an intriguing sight: a large youma, all shoulders and arms and powerful build, duking it out with what he presumed was a Senshi dressed like an adventurer, complete with adventure-hat. And from the look of things, the Senshi was getting the short end of the stick in this fight. He wasn't a fighter, that much was a given – not only did he not have any magical powers like the Senshi presumably had, he was under an admonition from the Code not to get involved in fights. Nevertheless, he felt he had to do something to help, even if it was simply providing a distraction to the monstrous beast. "Hey," he called to get its attention. As it turned to look, he ran toward it and leapt past it onto the top bar of the swing set, where he balanced and regarded it. "I'm willing to bet you can't catch me." Hopefully this was providing enough of a break for the Senshi to engage the youma again – this time with greater success.

tatterpixie Sailor Scout Attack: Feeding Time! Sailor T-Rex can summon the ghostly image of a skeletal Tyrannosaurus Rex’s head above her, which roars at an ear piercing pitch and causes a mild, temporary paralysis. The effect is not in the sound itself, but rather a shock wave that emanates from Sailor T-Rex in a five-foot radius around her. Unless someone is standing within that range, even if they hear the roar, they will not be affected by the attack. Likewise, if they are inside the range but cannot hear the roar, they will not be affected. The paralysis lasts up to 15 seconds. The strength of her opponent can impact this. She can use this attack two times per power up due to power strain. T-Rex was always happy to see someone else show up to help her in her fights. Maybe it was a cheaty way to approach a battle, and definitely not the smartest thing to do, but it took a lot of the stress out of trying to win on her own merits.
She had a lot of leveling to do if she was going to carry a fight, that much was clear to her. What she needed to do was find a party to join, and so far these temporary alliances were working out for her.
At the very least, she was not dead yet.
The youma huffed, watching the bouncy new arrival in irritation. It stomped its awkwardly tiny feet, digging at the ground, but it did not look like it would be a particularly adept chaser if it did try to catch the knight. Instead, it picked up a nearby trash can and hurled it at the swing set.
T-Rex was glad she was already on the move, pretty sure she would have been covered in trash by now if she had stayed put. She was using the distraction to her advantage. Or at least trying to. "Hey ugly! It's Feeding Time!!" She yelled. Hopefully she was far enough away from the knight to not get him wrapped up in the attack: she actually was not super sure how it worked, and had not used her magic that many times before. She did know it seemed to paralyze an opponent, but she had to be pretty close for it to work.

Seeing the incoming trash can, Spei leapt out of the way, straight up to land on the ground next to the swing set with a roll that took him away from it, opposite of the Senshi. He hoped she had gotten out of the way of the flying garbage too. As soon as he was back on his feet, he darted around to the backside of the ponderous youma to deliver a swift kick. This only angered (and further distracted) the youma, which roared its annoyance as loud as it could as it flailed back to try and grab him. The youma's roar was soon joined by another, as a spectral T. Rex skull manifested in front of the beast, presumably the result of the Senshi's magic. The skull roared at an ear-piercing pitch, and as it did a visible shock wave roiled across the dirt of the playground to impact the youma. It immediately froze in place as if transfixed. Spei luckily had the monster's bulk between him and the shock wave, so he was apparently out of range of the attack. He didn't know how long the youma would be paralyzed, so he bounded out of its range as well, back to the swing set, where he once more balanced atop it. It wasn't cheating as far as he was concerned to help a fellow Order type in battle – because it was becoming clear to him that the other side had the power edge by utilizing creatures such as this. "Nice work," he called to the Senshi. He hoped she would take advantage of the monster's paralysis to give it a few solid punches, as she didn't appear to have any weapons. Did Senshi not have weapons? He still wasn't sure what all they could do besides powerful magic, as he'd only met the one alien cat-girl Senshi Daphne. He decided this Senshi needed a whip like Indiana Jones.

"Hey, you're really zippy! You'll have to show me some moves when this is done!" T-Rex called jovially, confident now that they seemed to have the upper hand on the strange looking youma. It was easy to be confident when something was both paralyzed and out numbered, of course.
Her bruises would remind her later, when she was powered down, that it had not been as easy as it now seemed.
She grinned, cracking the knuckles of one first with the palm of the other and rolling her shoulders. Alright, time to put some of this extra senshi strength to the test, while she had a free shot. She charged, getting some speed and pulling her arm back as far as her shoulder would let her before launching a full body punch to the youma's strange little head. She successfully sent it sprawling, though she went sprawling with it.
"Yargh!"
It was most certainly a case of too much momentum, and she got a little caught up in her own limbs trying to right herself. Graceful she was not, and she had never been accused of being such. While she was struggling to get to her feet, so was the youma, though it looked to be on its last legs.
Tiny, tiny legs.

"I'd be more than happy to," Spei said with a slight bow. He didn't know why he bowed; maybe it was his outfit. If he was going to look like a pastel-goth Beau Brummel or Mr Darcy, he may as well act the part. He watched her attack the youma with a punch that sent both her and the creature sprawling. Immediately he leapt down from his perch and went to help the Senshi untangle herself. "Looks like you've got it on the ropes," he commented, marveling that despite her tumble, she still had her hat on. Yeah, she totally needed an Indiana Jones whip. All the while he had half an eye on the youma, which was also rolling around trying to get itself righted. It wasn't looking so great, much to Spei's relief. Such a tiny head… "I'm not a fighter," he advised the Senshi, helping her to her feet. "I'm only a Page. So you can deliver the coup de gras and take this thing out, if you like."

T-Rex laughed as she got to her feet, adjusting her hat but glad to find it still on her head. She was not about to let it get damaged, though she had not yet learned that it would be okay even if she did. There had just been no situation yet where leaving it behind was the only option, so she managed to keep it either on her head, or in a safe hold. It would ruin her whole motif. "Oh, sure thing! Uh. I kinda feel bad for it. I don't think it can get back up," she looked at the thing, though it was indeed getting its massive arms under it and hoisting itself up onto its arms so it could settle its legs under it. "Yikes. Man, did this thing fall off the conveyor belt when they were churning out all the other youma?" She shook her head, taking a deep breath. She pat her new friend, for it did not take much to win T-Rex's friendship, on the shoulder before she ran at the youma and kicked it as hard as she could. A follow up punch to its tiny head was all it took for it to explode into far too much dust, Tyrannosaurus almost losing sight of Spei in the ridiculous cloud before it disappeared. "Gross."

Spei had no idea what happened to youma when you managed to eliminate one. Now he knew. Waving the dust that was once a disproportionately silly-looking monster from in front of his face, he coughed gently and looked at the Senshi. "Right? Huge powerful arms, itty bitty legs. Honestly, if I knew that was all it took to destroy one of those things, I would have kicked it myself. But you were fighting it first, so I left that honor… to you." Again he sketched a bow. "I'm Spei, Page of the Moon. I'm really liking your look – very Raiders of the Lost Ark. Or Jurassic Park, given your magic. That was cool, by the way. A ghostly T. Rex skull? Very cool." He wished he had a hat.

"Oh yeah? Honor, huh. I think you just didn't want to get your outfit dusty," Tyrannosaurus laughed, patting herself and letting clouds of dust dissipate into the air. It did not take long for it all to vanish, as if it never existed in the first place. She looked down at her own outfit, thinking dust probably looked natural on it anyway, though she had managed to get out of that fight without messing it up too much. She did very much like her sphere and the outfit it gave her, though she could not claim any credit for it besides managing to power up in the first place. "I definitely seem to have lucked out on the magic front. I have to admit, I've been reading up a lot more on dinosaurs, and playing way more dinosaur games than I used to, but it doesn't seem to really translate to my actual skills. You helped me out a ton, so thank you! Watching you jump all over the place was pretty rad: I definitely want to learn how to do some of that!" She was not the most coordinated person, maybe, but what she lacked in natural grace she made up for in tenacity. She was more than willing to learn, and try, at the very least. "maybe we can meet up some time and you can show me the basics?"

Spei brushed the remaining stray youma dust off his shoulders. As much as he thought he looked like the male protagonist of a Bronte novel that got his clothes washed with bleach, he actually rather liked his outfit. It was formal, but it was different; he'd worn a tux before, to a black tie dinner his computer scientist father had dragged him to shortly before moving to San Francisco, and he knew he looked good in formal wear. Bonus: it seemed to be fairly indestructible. "I don't know what my magic will be yet," he shrugged, summoning his silvery discus, "but I'm looking forward to finding out. I hope it's something as cool as yours." He dismissed the discus and raised an eyebrow at the adventurer-Senshi. "Dinosaurs, huh? That makes sense. I think it matches well with your magic. It'll be cool to see how it evolves." He nodded a bow once more. "Thank you, I'm glad I was able to help out. As for my moves, sure, I'd be happy to show you. It's just basic standard parkour, but with our super strength and speed and stuff, it's a lot more effective. Almost like a martial art." With a slight head tilt, he asked, "What's your name?"

"Oh, that's sad," T-Rex said thoughtfully. She was not sure how all the different factions operated from each other, though she had already discovered a few oddities about each. Maybe oddities was not a fair enough word, though she had a limited pool of encounters to draw from and most of them had been, in plain fact, odd.
It wasn't like anyone was going around calling her normal, though, so she was in no fit place to judge.
Grinning broadly, hands on her hips, she looked the other over curiously. Maybe she could help him figure out his magic at some point, or at least he could show her once he did figure out what it was. She was surprised by the disc he was able to summon, knowing for sure she couldn't just pull a useful item out of thin air.
"Basic parkour is still way more than I've ever tried," she laughed, offering him her gloved hand both in introduction and to strike up a deal about meeting up again. "Oh yeah! I'm Tyrannosaurus, Senshi of Fossils."

Spei took the offered hand. "Nice to meet you. Senshi of Fossils? That's so cool. And it makes a lot of sense with that T-Rex skull." He shrugged. "It is what it is, I guess. It's not that sad, at least I don't think so. I have my Wonder on the Moon that I'm going to fix up, so there's that. And I know I'll get a weapon of some sort eventually, it's just going to take time. I'll get there," he said with a little semi-smile (as close to a smile as he got in public). "As for the parkour, it's not that hard, not with our powers," he stated. "Just name the time and place and I'll be there to show you some moves. It's really a lot of fun, too. One of these days I'll figure out how to use it as an attack, instead of just an evasive thing." Jumping back to the top rail of the swing set, Spei gave her a casual salute. "I'll see you around, T-Rex," he said, and leapt off the rail into the night. Lithiasaur exit Spei! thanks for the RP! heart

T-Rex looked proud, despite having nothing to do with the assignment of her sphere, as far as she knew. She seized his hand eagerly, shaking it with both of hers. Still, there had to be some sort of destiny in it, right? Something in her made a Tyrannosaur, and Fossils, seem appropriate. So it was up to her to do right by it, learn what she could, and adapt to it.
She was not one to fight against destiny: she played way too many RPGs and watched too many cartoons. She knew better than to question a gift when it was given, even if, at the time, it did not make much sense.
"Wonder?" To be honest, she had never spent a lot of time with knights, and had little idea how they worked. "Sounds cool! And a weapon is pretty rad. Probably will end up better than a roaring T-Rex skull, I'm sure! Plus, with your parkour, you'll be pretty much unstoppable if you want to be."
She grinned, finally releasing his hand from her enthusiastic handshake.
Waving, she watched him as he jumped away, hoping he really meant it when he said he would help her learn the moves. Sure, it seemed easy, with their powers, but she knew there was a lot more control and thought to it than he was really letting on. Some people were just too modest. Feeling in high spirits, she made to head back toward her own home, thinking she had quite enough adventure for one night, though she was jazzed to start practicing and likely would not get any sleep, anyway.
