Mene
After his...encounter with the wild jungle harpy, Izotz returned to the City to do some more research and some more thinking. She had shown him a wild time, to be sure, but upon further review, she definitely was not the kind of lady he wanted to settle down with. Or ever encounter again.

More asking around had revealed that a group of harpies lived just outside Breeheart, and that they were much more reasonable than the feral harpies who lived in the wilds. So, that was his next stop.

Izotz made lodging arrangements in Breeheart and, after getting his bearings, headed out in the direction that it was said the "flock" could be found.

shadi
Valko sat on the ground keeping an eye on the wierd featherless chick that had hatched recently. The others where out hunting or stealing baskets or some such thing meaning someone had to stay behind to watch the kid. That was him. Today was make sure baby doesn't jump form nest day. Thus he left the tree house and took the chick to the ground. Chick could not jump and fall if it was all ready on the ground. Brilliant.

Borkbork was a baby doing babythings like eating his foot.

Mene
Izotz was much more conscientious of his surroundings than he had been before, so he heard them before he saw them. But not long before. How strange, to see a demon here alone in the woods, playing with what appeared to be a baby faun. "Um, hello," said Izotz, giving a little wave. "I'm Izotz, do you happen to live around here? I was hoping to speak with a harpy, and I was told that a family of them lives in this area. You don't happen to know where?"

shadi
Valko looked up from the weird chick as footsteps approached it seemed to early for the girls to be back yet. Ah it was no them someone else. Oh he was looking for the girls. He nodded Pointing at the tree house "Harpy House" After a moment he added "Out" Indicating that the girls where out and about at the moment.

Mene
Izotz looked up and squinted at the house. "Oh, wow," he commented appreciatively. That was sure a far cry from the jungle, wasn't it? A whole house in the tree. "Out? Like they aren't at home? Huh. Just my luck." He glanced back at the other male. "Do you...see them much?" He asked.

shadi
Valko nodded again "everyday!" He responded cheerfully. He was so lucky to see his bestest best friend Hatil everyday! Seeing the kids was nice too! Saira less so she still didn't like him. His tail wagged happily as he thought about Hatil.

Mene
"Oh, really?" Asked Izotz, brightening. "D'you mind if I ask you some questions about them? I'm just, uh, real curious and I've been having trouble finding anything out in the City."

shadi
Valko's tail wagged more oh oh he could talk about Hatil!! "Okay!" Hatil is bestest She taught him how to fly after all! and the kids!

Mene
"Thanks, man, I really appreciate it," said Izotz, seemingly oblivious to the other male's truncated inflection. "So like, what are they like?" He started.

shadi
Valko pondered the question for a moment. Hatil was nice, the kids where nice, Saira was mean. What did they have in common? Birds, feathers, stealing things, flying. "Mostly thieves" Yes that was it that was clearly the most common trait that bound harpies together as a speices, Theivery. Stealing Blankets, toiletries, basket and cookies.

Mene
"Huh, that's interesting," said Izotz thoughtfully. He wondered why they stole things. "How many are in this family group? And I thought they didn't really like to live in groups?"

shadi
"matriarch grumpy" He responded to the question of Harpies not likeing to live in groups. He was trying to count how many there where now. Naming them all in his head he figured it was nine, since he wasn't a harpy after all. Then he saw Bork Bork the weird little chick. Hatil said it was a chick thus it must be a sad mutated little chick "10" He settled on after a moment of staring at BorkBork who was now trying to shove both feet in his mouth.

Mene
This conversation had already been most enlightening! "Ten, with a matriarch. Remarkable...And are there adults and children?"

shadi
Valko wagged his tail more new friend was fun to talk to! new friend liked listening to him! "Adults, teens Baby" the last word ended with him pointing at the baby eating its own feet.

Mene
Izotz peered at the baby as it was indicated. "The baby doesn't look much like a harpy," he said, making sort of a sideways face. But then, he'd never seen a harpy chick before, so who was he to judge? "So are you babysitting then?" He asked. He wondered how he'd earned their trust.

shadi
Valko tilted his head as he looked at the baby. The other was right it didnt look like a harpy chick. but it must be some kind of chick. He shrugged "Not Normal" he agreed. He was pretty sure flour sacks didn't normally become babies. ....he should talk to the people of breahart about that. They used a lot of flour sacks. Maybe it was like eggs? Some hatch? Some you crack open and cook. Confusing.

"Yup" He was on baby sitting duty today! Tomorrow was someone else turn. He didn't remeber who tho.

Mene
"Fascinating," mused Izotz. Then, a realization. "I'm sorry, where are my manners? I'm Izotz, what's your name? D'you live around here?"

shadi
"Valko" He offered for his name. A hand shake was a normal manners greeting thing so he stuck his hand out for that. After which he pointed to the original tree house that was clearly much older than the rest. "There."

Mene
"Nice to meet you, Valko," responded Izotz, shaking his hand. He looked up at the house. "Wait, you live up there?" he asked, pointing. "D'you live with them, then?" He could hardly believe it.

shadi
Valko nodded excitedly he did live there! "Yes with Hatil!" His tail wagged harder. Hatil was great the bestest. She shared food! they snuggled! she didn't kick him off the edge of the house like Saira.

Mene
Izotz looked back and forth between Valko and the treehouse a few times, puzzled. Then he finally put the pieces together. "Oh!" he exclaimed. He ran a hand through his hair. This was great news! This meant that what he was after was possible! "That's...that's great!" he said. Suddenly he had lots of questions but none of them seemed appropriate to ask a relative stranger. "H-how long have you been together?" he asked. That seemed somewhat safe.

shadi
Valko wasn't really sure how long they had been together. It was a long time many years! their kids where adults now! "Met teens" He had been a teen when he met Hatil but it wasn't until he was an adult that he had found his way here to see her and then never left. But they had been good friends (almost bestest) from the first time he met so he assumed that was good enough of an answer.

Mene
Izotz' eyebrows went up. "Oh wow, a long time then. That's great, congratulations." He sat down nearby, still curious. "And what's she like? Hatil?" He'd had experience with exactly one harpy and he wanted to know if they were all like that.

shadi
His tail continued wagging. Yes he was very lucky to have a bestest friend as cool as Hatil. "Nice! Good hunter!" Hatil was good at many things! Like snatching the best things from Venus' hotels, hutning, smoking the meat! and fly!

Mene
"She's nice? Well, that's good to hear," said Izotz, relieved. "I've only met one other harpy and she was.....not nice." He shuddered a bit. He still couldn't believe that had happened. "How did you meet Hatil?" he asked.

shadi
Valko understood Saira was not nice either. "Party! Had food!" They shared food! Valko almost never shared his food! but he and Hatil had gotten along so well they traded snacks with each other on that Venus day party they had met.

Mene
"Hm," said Izotz thoughtfully. That didn't seem like a practical avenue for him. "D'you think if I met a harpy she'd like it if I brought food?" he asked. He might be showing his hand a bit here.

shadi
"Yes! Love food!" Hatil was all ways very happy when he brought her food and the kids all ways stole cookies from Breeheart.

Mene
Izotz definitely made a mental note for that one. "What kind of food does she like?" he asked. He'd made sort of a misstep on that one last time.

shadi
"Meat! All kinds!" Meat was so good! and Hatil was very good at smoking it and showed him how to make it and how different barks help it taste different.

Mene
"Okay, see, that's what I thought. Now, this might be a silly question, but do they typically cook it first? And if so, how does that work out here?"

shadi
Valko nodded "smoked!" He pointed to the smoke house they had made. He was not supposed to let people go inside so he moved on to the second way the cooked meat and said "roasted" He show the other over to the fire pit and the sticks they used to roast the meat on.

Mene
Izotz nodded thoughtfully as Valko showed him the various methods of cooking. He still didn't quite understand how the first harpy he'd met would utilize these things in the jungle, but it's also entirely possible she had been ******** with him.

"Mate, I've taken up enough of your time," said Izotz, not wanting to wear out his welcome. He also had a lot to think about and do. "I really appreciate you talking with me. You've been just...so helpful, truly. You've given me a lot to think about, so I'm going to be off. Thanks so much." He offered a handshake again.

shadi
Valko smiled "bye" He said shaking the others hand. It was nice making friends. Hopefully new friend would come back sometime so he could met Hatil she was so cool!
