Riya let out a long sigh as she looked at the distance she still had to cover before she got to her sister-in-laws place. One hand was on the strap over her shoulder that connected to her pack and the other hand rubbed at her swollen belly. She'd wanted to come up and visit Sylv before she got too large to make the trip, though she was thinking she'd already hit that marker. Her back was killing her and her poor feet felt like they were twice their normal size. "Ohhh.. I think I should invest in a mount for next time." Actually she was fairly certain Ergon wouldn't be letting her do this again. At least not by herself. He was likely already going to panic when he got home and saw that she'd gone to see his sister. Riya just couldn't help it though. She was so bored sitting at home and doing nothing. There was only so many arrows she could make before she was done with the task. And she was down to teaching only one class a week because people were treating her like she was made of porcelain.

It was still so odd to call these lands 'home'. Even if the Ild'vann had converted the once sprawling expanse of an estate into a proper village there were still traces of the grand manse left. Serving quarters had been turned into homes, but held their old facade and some of the pillars of the main house were now gateways into newer, more modest homes. It had been years since Sylvirah and Zyphire had brought her people down from the mountain, but bit by bit they were rebuilding. Still, today was a day for rest. Or as much as she could get with two children. The pair of them had been attached like leeches for most of the morning and if she hadn't sent them off for chores Sylvirah feared she would go mad. Now that they were gone she moved outside and gathered her bow. A quick trip around the border wouldn't hurt and she could mark new areas for herds. She thought for a moment about riding Ada, but really, she needn't bother for such a small trip. So, Sylvirah started out and came to a relatively quick stop. Someone was approaching her house - someone familiar - and yet... off. At this distance Sylvirah couldn't make out the details of it, but she knew Iriyana's curls well enough to know it was her sister - in - law. So, she called out to her and jogged closer to meet the woman halfway.

When she spotted Sylvirah coming outside she hoped hoped wasn't interrupting anything important. Of course she was spotted and Riya smiled as Sylv jogged closer. She lifted her hand and waved as a smile formed across her lips. "Hello." Iriyana greeted as loudly as she dared to. Her other hand went to the bottom of her belly, an attempt to ease some of the weight as she walked. Riya might not be as pampered as the ladies in the town where she lived but she was more so than Sylvirah so the trek to see her sister-in-law was a bit much. When she got close enough her waving hand came to join the other and she took a deep breath. "Where are my neice and nephew?" Riya expected to see the kids somewhere close by, though she supposed they could be inside.

The closer the huntress came to her closest friend the wider her eyes became. "Av åndene, Iriyana! I thought for sure you were packing furs, but look at you!" She couldn't have been happier if she were the one with child. "Are you sure you're carrying a babe and not a mammu calf?" As thrilled as Sylvirah was to see the new life growing within, she couldn't help feeling sympathetic for the other woman. Iriyana definitely looked larger than Sylvirah had been when she carried, or maybe she was just further along? Had she really been so out of the loop with Zyphire's return that she missed this much? "Hopefully working on chores like I told them to." If she could keep Ziya from flittering off and Yngvara focused on something other than the mountains Sylvirah would consider it a win. For a moment she thought about stepping closer, but thought better of it. Instead Sylvirah searched around them and found a suitable stone that had been covered by sticks that could serve as a makeshift seat. It was a bit of a hassle to clear off, but hopefully it would be enough for Iriyana to catch her breath. "If you'd written me I would have been the one to visit you." Still, they both knew the truth of it; Sylvirah barely knew her letters and catching one of the children at home to translate for her was as rare as a warm day in winter.

She couldn't help the laugh that came out after her friend's words. She did feel like she might have stuffed a Mammu calf in her shirt. Definitely not a practical way to transport them. "Fairly certain I didn't steal a calf. Though I can say your brother is banned from touching me for at least a year after this." She huffed again as she finally got close enough. Hearing that the kids were supposed to be out doing chores she nodded her head. She wouldn't bother them then. Wouldn't do to have them get in trouble because their aunt came to visit unexpectedly. When Sylvirah mentioned writing her she waved her hand dismissively. Not only did she know Sylv had difficulty with letters she also hadn't really planned the trip. "Wasn't exactly planned. I got bored sitting at home. Ergon is likely going to panic when he realizes." Which meant she'd need someone to walk back home with her so he wouldn't die on the spot thinking she'd been out alone the whole time.

"Spirits, I'd say." Sylvirah couldn't help barking out a laugh. Whether it was the salves and tinctures she'd sent to their home, not-so-subtly of course, or other methods it seemed as if the pair were finally going to be parents. "Come and sit for a moment. Catch your breath and then we'll go to the house." Nudging the other iceling toward the stone, Sylvirah kept her eye out for the children. They might be busy doing their work, but they should still be within eyesight. If they were she knew no matter the task they would drop it to see their family. Rolling her eyes, Sylvirah let out a snort. "Let 'im panic, then. A good walk and a stretch is good for you. It'll make it easier when the birth comes so long as you don't overdo it." She'd been well over halfway through her pregnancy with Ziya when she'd trekked up the mountain and fought for her people. While she wouldn't recommend nearly that much activity she also wouldn't advocate for sitting on her bum for nearly a year! A little walking each day would be good. "You did good to come here and we'll take the cart to bring you home when you're ready. If you want I can always ask Yngvara to take Ada into town as well to let him know you're here?"

She sat when she was pushed to do so. Riya wasn't exactly going to argue over that anyways. Being off her feet felt so good. A long sigh was let out as her lower back and feet felt instantly better. "It's only been five months but it feels like this baby is bigger than usual. Maybe I'm farther along than we thought?" Since they'd had so much difficulty conciving she didn't think she was carrying twins. Surely if it had been that hard to get a child then she only had the one. "You realize that if he panics then we'll never hear the end of it? I might not even be able to leave the house." Iriyana laughed at that. Her poor husband would likely bring it up every chance he got how reckless she was or watch her like a hawk to ensure she didn't do it again. "The cart seems like a good idea. I left Ergon a note to say where I was. Just don't tell him I was out of breath when I got here." Riya smirked at Sylv.

Sylvirah got a good, solid look at Iriyana as she sat. "It's possible. My guess is a large child, though, so you should be careful. Birth won't be easy." It never was no matter the infant, but a larger babe could resist coming into the world. While she had no intention of scaring her sister-in-law, Sylvirah also wanted to make sure there would be someone around to help her if the worst were to come. She waved a hand and moved to sit by Iriyana. "He always panics; if he didn't it wouldn't be Ergon." The iceling rolled her eyes. There was so much she didn't understand about him, though the feeling was likely mutual, but she did wish that he would calm. Just a bit. "If asked I'll tell him I came for you in the cart and save us both a headache."

The thought of a large baby was nice, if only for the fact that she had worried her child would be small and sickly. With the difficulty to conceive weighing on her mind it did bring about some worries. Then again Riya also feared if the baby was too large it wouldn't be an easy birth. "I have a feeling I am going to curse your brother when the time comes." She gave a chuckle of amusement at that. "Oh yes, telling him that should make him feel a little better." It would certainly avoid him panicking thinking that she had walked clear from home. Iriyana hadn't really thought about the troubles of it since she was used to doing it before she became pregnant. "So what have I missed lately? You know I don't get good gossip with the ladies in town."

The thought brought a calming grin to her face. "You may do more than that. With Ziya I threatened to take Zyphire's manhood." She held her hand out with the palm facing the sky and made a 'squishing' motion by quickly closing her fist. The things she'd said to that poor man when the pain had been at it's highest wouldn't be forgotten anytime soon. "Well, for starters we have three new members." Sylvirah stated proudly. While the vast majority of those who sought refuge with the Ild'vann were exiles from the main settlements, as long as they proved themselves Sylvirah never judged them. If they tried to do harm, however.... "A single father and his sons. He was born into the tribe before I was and his mother left. When he heard we were thriving he came back." She sat up a little straighter on the stone. "One of his sons has the personality of mud, but the other is sharp. He's around Ziya's age so I'm hoping they can get along."That wasn't really gossip worthy though, was it? And yet, what she said next was. "The children's mother might also be a married councilwoman. One of the boys let it slip, but his father won't respond to rumors."

"I do think if I threatened Ergon's manhood he might sleep at the shop for a few days." It wasn't like sleeping on the couch would save him. Being in the same house may be a danger. After all, Riya was damned good with a bow by now. At hearing there were new members she smiled. It was always good to hear that. She didn't want the Ild'vann to disappear. Riya had to admit she was impressed that the boy around her nephew's age had a sharp mind about him. Then again there were young ones that had good wits about them. "Oh? A councilwoman? And married? Hm." Now that was something. Of course Iriyana wanted to know who the woman was just because. Rubbing her hand along her belly she took a deep breath. "You wouldn't happen to have a snack would you? Seems like I can never eat enough lately." Riya hadn't thought about that when she'd gotten bored at home and deiced to visit her sister-in-law.

"Ah, of course." Since she'd taken off from her home she didn't have the pack she normally toted around her waist. Still, Sylvirah pulled out a smaller satchel and handed it over. Inside were a few sweet roots, loose grains and dried berries. "I also have some mammu jerky if you'd like, but I'm not sure how you handle scents. With Ziya just having meat around me was enough to upset my stomach" She'd often claimed hat her 'husband' at the time used it to torment her. "We should head home once you're up to it. I can make a true meal and you can see the hide that Yngvara's been tanning. She's quite proud of it." It wasn't the most professional of leathers, but considering the girl was still learning Sylvirah was happy enough with it. It wouldn't catch eyes for the right reasons but it also wouldn't mold. "Actually...have you been having cravings at all? Sweet or salty?"

She was grateful for the snack and looked at Sylv like she was sent by the heavens. "I knew I loved you for a reason." Riya chuckled as she plopped a few dried berries into her mouth. Although she quickly ended up waving one hand as she shook her head. "Oh no. No jerky. The smell doesn't bother me so much as the taste here recently." At the mention of a true meal she got up and motioned for her sister-in-law to lead the way. Food was likely the best way to get her to do anything at the moment. Though she was just as excited to see what her niece had been working on. "Not really.. I've been craving more of the tangy stuff." While sweet and salty foods were good she had developed an almost need for something tangy. The dried berries were helping with that at the moment. "Have my adorable niece and nephew been keeping up on practicing their bow skills?" Even if it wasn't something they used all the time she wanted to make sure that Ziya and Yngvara were capable of using the weapon if they needed to.

"I've had some experience knowing what expectant mothers want and spirits willing I will again." It was no secret that Sylvirah wanted children to expand the village. Not only was it the easiest way to breathe life into the old ways, but she also just genuinely enjoyed motherhood. This time around, however, she would have a little one to coddle without having to carry it or being woken up in the middle of the night. Just as her kids were as much Iriyana's to spoil she assumed it would be reversed. When Iriyana was stable on her feet, Sylvirah rose as well and started walking back to the estate. "Tangy, hmm? I'm sure I've got something for that." If anything she would send the children out for it; they likely still had energy to burn. "They have been! Well, Yngvara more so than Ziya. He's taken to caring for the mounts and spending time conversing with traders. I should have known he'd take after his father." She shook her head with a dramatic sigh. "Yngvara spends all of her time training, though. I rarely see her some days."

"Oh yes, when are you having another?" Riya was very interested to hear that one since she was slightly hoping for a playmate for her own little one. A few years difference wouldn't be much. The thought of having something tangy made her mouth water and she smiled a bit more. Riya ran a hand over the front of her belly in time to feel a kick from her little one and her smile grew wider. Then she focused on the conversation about her niece and nephew. "Well I am glad they are practicing. Even if its just a little bit. Ziya going to become a beast tamer then? Or a merchant?" Those fit with either one of the activities he was into. If he wanted to be a merchant then she was sure she could send a letter to her own father to see if he had any pointers. "Yngvara better remember to take care of herself too. Training too much can hurt the body." One could easily get worn out.
