Embly walked by Samantha's door but she didn't knock or go in, she knew that Sam was packing to leave and Embly was a little bit sad she would soon be alone again. There had been so many things going on lately. She had recently traveled to another wonder to help to save it. She needed to go to her own wonder and see about helping to bring her wonder back to life. She wondered there would be problems she didn't know what if her own wonder had corruption on it since she had never gone there before. She sighed deeply and curled up in the window seat in the downstairs sitting room. Then she grabbed one of the many books that were sitting on a nearby table and she opened the book to the last place she had left off.

She had her shoes off and was curled under a blanket as she read by herself, she heard Sam leave as she finished gathering her things. She had avoided saying goodbye because she didn't want to face the loss. It likely made her look cold and distant. That wasn't anything new though. Many thought Embly to be cold and distant because she didn't know how to connect with others. Her parents had never been warm to her. Most of her childhood was filled with nannies and tutors. She had never really had any real friends.
She had her books and that had become good enough for her, branching out was hard on her, and even when she did leave her house it did often come to any good when trying to make a friend. She wasn't sure how or if she would ever overcome that. It would take time and patients. Perhaps someone who was determined. She had met some wonderful knights and senshi. They had helped her grow more powerful and confident in her skills. She still wouldn't call herself a fighter since she wasn't.

There was no sense lying to herself or others to say that she was comfortable with striking another being. She had been alright fighting a plant, but fighting a person violently was not her speed. She knew she needed to grow in power and that would take time. She had the time it wasn't a bother. Embly would keep training until she was ready to move on to squire. She wasn't quite sure how she did that anyway. She got up and put her book to the side. She then went into the kitchen to make herself a cup of tea. If she wanted she could have servants but she had decided she would rather be alone than have people pretending to like her. There was no sense in having someone to make her tea and was paid to pay attention to her. That was in no way a friend. Which was what Embly wanted and didn't know how to get. She sighed out as her tea steeped. Then she went back to her book. Friends would have to wait for another day.
