Arnica looked around the open space of the park and considered how much space there was to actually practice anything. They were a bit away from the treeline, the fountain, the benches. The streetlights still managed to illuminate things beyond what the moonlight provided, and overall it seemed like a comfortable space.
He pursed his lips and nodded, looking towards his sister.
“I think this’ll work. We’re not doing any crazy gymnastics. Are you really sure you want to do this? I don’t want to hurt you with my magic.”
He wanted her to be safe and get some experience in, but he didn’t want to accidentally hurt her while she was practicing and trying out her new powers.

Danalite laughed softly and summoned her dagger. She had no true intention to use it on him…honestly, she just wanted to see what his magic did. To start compiling some kind of list to see what senshi could do…obviously, trying with ones she knew, ones she could trust. People who she knew wouldn’t actively be out to hurt her.
Still. It would be fun to see just what magic could do.
“Don’t worry about hurting me, Arnica. Just use it on me. I want to see what you can do. I’m going to do this with everyone, I hope you know. If I can get people to try their magic on me, maybe I can make myself immune, or figure out the best way to get around senshi attacks. It’s for research, dear brother!”
She wasn’t useless, and at least it wasn’t something that she had to actively remind herself, it was easy to remember when she looked at her dagger. And if she could learn about senshi magic…she would become even less useless.

“I’m always going to worry about hurting you! I’m your brother, I can’t help it. Even when we’re not fighting.”
He still seemed to be dreading this somewhat, but he flashed a quick smile so she’d know that he wasn’t afraid.
“Just promise me that you’ll call for a time out if it gets to be too much, all right? It’s going to make you feel sick. Just want to give you a heads up. It’ll pass, I don’t know in how long. Maybe like a minute or something. So if it gets too bad, just breathe and let it pass, don’t push yourself too hard.”
He gave her a moment to make an objection, or maybe to prepare herself, but when she looked ready he drew in a breath and braced himself.
Just in case something went wrong.
And then, he casted his magic at her and hoped for the best.

Danalite nodded. “Don’t worry so much, big brother. I’m going to be fine, I promise.” And she had felt very sure of that promise, thinking herself ready for whatever her brother could throw at her…but. The reality…
She wasn’t ready. And thank God Arnica wasn’t someone who could or would ever be an enemy, for as a wave of dizziness overtook her as well as a sudden, throbbing headache, the Captain felt her heart rate increasing as well and sank to the ground, numbly realizing that there was a strange ring of flowers around her but the pain in her head was too great for her to try to move out of the circle of magic.
Though…for all that Arnica had been worried…even leaving the ring might do no good.
Her stomach roiled and she shuddered, shutting her eyes tightly as she fought back a new, unpleasant wave of nausea that decided to join the party. “...********, brother…just. <******** would end soon, she hoped. And then…well. And then she would go home and let Leander pamper her for the rest of the night…honestly, if she didn’t feel so sick she would angle for ice cream but…
The thought of anything edible made her shudder in disgust.

Ah, s**t.
Arnica watched her for a few seconds, but as soon as she started to look sick he started running over to her. He didn’t know if his magic could affect him, so he held his breath–for whatever good he thought that might do–and wrapped his arm around her shoulder to try and guide her away.
“It’s okay, just breathe. I warned you,” he cautioned, not as an I told you so but just to remind her of what he’d said and try to ease her into reassurance. “You’ve got this. It’ll pass.”
He rubbed her back and tried to soothe her. “Deep, gentle breaths. Won’t be much longer.”

Danalite scoffed and looked up at her brother, giving a small smile and shaking her head. “I’m fine, seriously I’m fine. I’m just. Seriously really glad you’re not my enemy. But I know you’ll damn well be able to protect me and Kibi if anything ever happens. Jesus.”
She let out a long breath when the magic finally faded and rested against him, singing softly. “...Love you, Arnica. I’m not sure what it was that I was expecting, but that was so much ******** cooler. Like. It felt like I was dying and…as much as I don’t like feeling that way, it was sure cool!”
Even if she felt like s**t now, she was glad she had gotten to feel his magic first hand. Now she knew to be watchful, to be careful and not too full of herself. It wasn’t the easiest of lessons to learn but. She had to learn it sometime.
“If you feel bad about hurting me…you can always get us dessert or something to make up for it, if you wanted.”
Now her stomach wasn’t trying to attack…ice cream was sounding so good again.

Arnica made a face, like he was a bit in disbelief, but he couldn't help but smile and shake his head. "You and your sister are such troublemakers. Such troublemakers!"
But, he was glad she didn't want him to use his magic on her again, especially not so soon after the first time. He wasn't sure if there were long lasting effects if there was too much exposure, but he certainly wasn't going to test it all out on his sister to find out.
"I'm never going to be your enemy. I'd fight to the death to protect you two, no questions asked. I'm not useless. Although, I suppose I've been dragging my feet for a while now. I should have a bit more aspiration to be an Eternal Senshi. Ah," he sighed and rubbed the back of his neck. "But I haven't seen a Mauvian in a while, either. I don't get to call someone up and ask for a promotion like you can." He clicked his tongue on the roof of his mouth and shrugged, "I love you, too. Come on, dessert. Whatever you want. As long as you're sure your stomach can handle it."

“Would you have us any other way, beloved brother?” Danalite drew in another breath and got slowly to her feet, reaching her hands out to her brother and nodding. “I’ll help you get in shape, and if I find a Mauvian, I’ll send them your way too. But yes, dessert time. And I think my stomach will be just fine.”
She took hold of his hand and leaned against him for a moment.
“After all, no stomach can reject ice cream!”
