“How have you been? Everything going okay with Iduna?” General King Jet asked when Lazurite made her way into his office. He thought it was welcoming enough, even though he didn’t have too many personal touches.
Aquamarine helped in getting teal curtains hung up over the window that looked out over the derelict pieces of the castle and various buildings below. The purple glow that came through seemed to make a perfect match with his uniform -- with his brother’s uniform.
Paintings that complimented the handsome wooden desk and shelves had been spread throughout the room. Landscapes and such. Just for a splash of color on the plastered walls.
The office was big enough that there was a couch and coffee table to sit and relax at, as well as a couple of comfortable looking chairs in front of Jet’s desk. He indicated to one in the hopes of having Lazurite make herself comfortable.
“Are you thirsty? I have tea. Coffee. Uh. I have soda too, if you want any.” He’d had a mini refrigerator wired up in one of the alcoves of the office, just in case. “I’ve got cookies too, but they’re from General King Axinite, so you know they’ll be good.” Orangeish Sherbertx Let me know if you need me to edit anything!

Lazurite had felt such a thrill of pride when she had first learned that her General had been promoted, and had tried to work just as hard for him as she had before…but as always, life kept trying to get in the way, however. She was back, and they were having a meeting…though of course the first topic brought up was Iduna so.
She gave a wistful sigh. “Truthfully, I haven’t seen her in ages. I’m hoping that life just attacked, as it does but. I’m going to start doubling my visits to our meeting place. I swear, one of these days I’m just going to kiss her senseless until she agrees to come with me. But…you really didn’t need nor want to hear that, so I’m going to change the subject.”
The corrupted senshi laughed and took a seat, relaxing and looking around the office. “This is so cool, you know, Jet! I always knew you were the best, and that’s not just because I’m biased for you since…you’re my General. You’re talented and smart and just. A really great guy. I’m okay! But…if there’s cookies, I can’t really say no to one…twist my arm, why don’tcha.”
And Lazurite held her hand out, eyes bright and eager. “I’ve been good though. Everything’s as well as it can be. Parents are being…” She rolled her eyes and shrugged. “...Parents, I guess. Keep going out of the country but. No more new islands lately at least.”

Jet tried not to let his expression adopt something of a grimace in place of the relaxed smile he was wearing. He’d already experienced other Senshi women of the Negaverse kissing each other senseless, and he could honestly say it did nothing for him except make him feel awkward.
He cleared his throat a little, glad that Lazurite was quick to move onto another topic, and he snorted quietly in amusement at her gushing. He couldn’t say he deserved the praise, but Lazurite had always been a little more enthusiastic about things like that. Talented, maybe when it came to the piano, but he was sure Aquamarine would laugh about the smart comment.
“Just make sure you keep your wits about you. I don’t want anyone giving you a hard time just because you report to me or Aquamarine. And if they do, let me know,” he added, because if someone was going to harass his recruits, they had another thing coming.
“I actually wanted to talk to you if you were interested in some more responsibility. I’d like you to learn how to teleport so you can get yourself out of trouble, and I think your talents would be better served in either gathering intelligence or infiltration… you know, the stuff you’ve already been doing. But I don’t want you out there without some extra power at your disposal,” he explained as he got up from his desk so he could grab the box of cookies from a nearby shelf and passed it over to her.

Lazurite reached for one of the cookies and took a bite before answering, half pleased with his words, and half wondering just what he was thinking about. Of course she was always willing to have more responsibility. And the idea of teleporting? That just sounded amazing thank you very much. But. If she appeared too eager, he might change his mind…though.
If she dawdled too long, he could do the same.
With a smile, she swallowed the bite in her mouth and nodded. “I would love more responsibility, Jet. I want to make you proud and be a credit to you, so if you’re offering to give me more responsibility by giving me more power, I accept whole heartedly.”
And she would work hard.
And so long as her parents didn’t buy any more islands that needed renovation…
She’d be able to stay in the city for a longer period this time.

Jet snorted softly in amusement at her enthusiasm, before standing so he could move around his desk where it would be easier to reach her.
“You don’t have to push yourself so hard. I want you to work hard, but know your limits and do your best. That’s all I ask. Not everyone is good for combat. We need people like you to meet others and, well, not scare them,” he said, immediately thinking about a good handful of Negaverse officers who would probably immediately scare any prospective recruits away.
“Do you remember when you first joined? It will still be a bit painful, but I’ve gotten pretty good at being delicate,” he tried to reassure her. Then again, she knew that he was good with his hands and had delicate fingers to be able to play the piano.
He held out his hand, palm facing her, waiting for her to step forward and initiate contact, rather than being the one to reach inside without her being fully prepared.

Lazurite’s lips twitched at his words, and it took all of her self control not to turn it into something that it obviously wasn’t, but she couldn’t help the smirk that she darted his way, even if it was replaced a moment later by a slight grimace of pain as his hand wrapped around her starseed and pushed more chaos inside of it.
It was…strange that even when she was such a proud, eager member of the Negaverse that her starseed seemed to protest this intrusion but…that was silly.
The important thing was the strength that was flowing through her and when she stepped away, she was no longer a somewhat useless basic senshi.
No, she was something far more super. Someone who had earned their rank and someone who was ready to do more with themself.
“Ah.” She was a little breathless, but Lazurite’s eyes were shining with excitement. “Thank you, Jet. I won’t let you down. Obviously.”

“Obviously,” he agreed with a small smile as he took a step back. He’d taken a page out of Axinite’s book of course, and had drinks and chocolate and other snacks available for her to choose from.
“If you have someone you trust that would like to practice with you, you have my permission. Otherwise I can help you learn how to teleport properly. I’d also like to see what your new magic can do. Find out its range and such,” Jet explained as he set the drinks and snacks on his desk for her, although he hoped it was clear she wasn’t obligated to take anything.
“I’m proud of you, I hope you know. Things have been a little crazy with everything going on, but I believe you have something special that we can really benefit from. The Negaverse can sometimes be forced into violent situations, but I want you to be able to escape if you can, and continue building relationships. Sound good? You'll let me know if you need anything? And rest for a bit before doing anything big. Promotions can take a lot out of anyone.” After all, even he was a bit winded.

“I can do all of that, happily so!”
Lazurite eyed the snacks, and took hold of a bottle of blue something and a chocolate bar and hummed thoughtfully as one hand rubbed her chest where the ache still lingered slightly. “I’ll practice hard, and I’ll let you know if I need anything, I’ve got this, and you picked the right girl to put your trust in, obviously!”
After all, she had come this far. Or, they had come this far. And now that he was in such a position, she had to uphold it and make sure that her reputation never tarnished his.
It would be easy enough, she hoped but.
She’d work hard at it regardless. “You can count on me.”
But…even if he could count on her, right now she wanted nothing more than to go home and get some sleep. Promotions did indeed take a lot of out people and…she could work on being amazing...tomorrow.

“I know I can,” Jet agreed with a smile, pleased that she seemed ready to take on everything that was requested of her.
He wouldn’t make her do anything she wasn’t comfortable with, but he also wanted to encourage her to stretch her legs and do things she never thought she was capable of, but that he knew she was.
He was already looking forward to when her starseed was strong enough to withstand more power.
