Indra was... an abysmal pet owner, and he was prepared to admit it.

"Pspsps," he cooed softly as he tucked two delicate fingers into the breast pocket of his dark button-up to rouse Rudra from her nap. He really had no business carrying the pair of sugar gliders around all day, to work no less, when it was significantly safer for them to stay at home. And he was sure they would be just as happy there, bundled up in their nest together. But since they offered no complaints to being tucked away in his pockets in the morning, just as they were about to bed down for the day anyway, it was hard for Indra to justify always leaving them behind.

They were bonded to him so never threw a fuss, slept in his pockets the entire time he was at work, and even just the tiniest reminder of companionship from the small globe of heat he carried around all day made him feel more at peace. He didn't pack them along every day. Just often enough, when he wanted for easy company.

It would've been kinder to let them sleep until he'd made it from work to home, but since dusk was just on the horizon, Indra feared they might wake before he made it back to the house. He loved the pair, and expected them to cause him little trouble.

But if there was even the off chance that they would be jumping all around his car while he was trying to drive, probably best to avoid it.

"Here you are, darling. Pspsps. Daddy's got you." He untucked her from his pocket as two giant orbs stared blearily at him, before setting her gently inside their travel bag, buckled neatly into the backseat of his car. Agni had already been woken, and if Indra were to describe his expression, the sugar glider clearly looked miffed at his treatment. "We will be home soon, okay, here we go..." He rubbed his thumb over grumpy Agni's head, then zipped the case and closed the car door.

"Aw, I've never seen animals like those before. They're really cute!"

Indra could almost make out the girl's reflection in the window of his car as she peered over his shoulder. "Oh, thank you. These are sugar gliders. They-" He turned, and the solid blue of insect-like eyes on her face made him cut off in a gasp. A gasp that turned to a yelp as she physically grabbed him with four arms, lifted him completely off the ground, and smashed him into the side of his car with the sharp 'c***k' of breaking glass.

Every single thought he had tripped completely into nothing as his mind struggled to understand- what the ********>. It felt like he was in a completely different plane wherein Indra couldn't formulate thought or action. He couldn't even summon the wherewithal to scream that some monster was accosting him, and the wind had been knocked clean from his lungs.

She continued to chat to him conversationally, even as Indra thought he saw wisps of some purply smoke trailing from him and down her arms. "You know, I have a friend who really likes collecting Earth animals!" She told him. "And I have a feeling these will be in need of new ownership." Her claws pinched into his skin as her sharp-fanged smile broadened, and Indra gave a startled jerk at the sting of pain- of actual pain, like this was something that was happening- as she gripped him tighter.

Knowing that some people were often into some incredibly odd s**t, for the sake of privacy, Maya wasn’t normally one to get involved or jump into their business unless it seemed obvious that they needed help.

Let people collect skeletons in their closet for later ammunition, didn’t bother her one bit. A side hustle with illegal drugs exchanging hands wasn’t something she was inclined to get hurt over either, even if it might land in the hands of a minor. Stopping something like that on the street level would be a fruitless endeavor and she did not have the time, energy, or resources to look for the head of the snake either.

All of that was best left for the Destiny City Police Department or some higher form of government power. Especially since she was just a Page with nothing more than a small bouquet of golden Gingko leaves to use as a weapon.

What was she expected to do? Make tea for someone and kill them with insincere politeness. The mere thought was almost as absurd as her outfit but it had, over time, grown on her. At the very least it was form-fitting and showed off her assets quite well.

Maya had been ready to power down for the evening and go get some sleep when she felt an aura flare up at the edge of her senses. A youma of all things, and she thought to herself that this was a chance to finally do something worthwhile as a knight of Ganymede.

Without any hesitation she made a beeline in the direction of the aura, only stopping when she saw the humanoid beast with insect-like eyes and multiple limbs; most of which held onto the man it had chosen as its prey. Ahh strewth…

“Oi! I think it’s about time ye bugger off.” Maya shouted a short distance away. Probably should have looked for some sort of weapon to wiled before interrupting, but she was neither here nor there and it was too late to really look now.

“You look so scared, hon! Don’t worry. I’ll keep it brief,” the woman- the monster?- cooed at him.

Did he look scared, Indra wondered? He certainly felt paralyzed with shock more than fear: slate eyes blown wide, lips parted, body not even trying to resist due to the sheer incomprehensibility. Those eyes. Those arms. Maybe he could have blown off her monstrous appearance as some kind of hoax if she hadn’t immediately accosted him. Her teeth gleamed. Even her bulbous big eyes somehow looked manic.

And there was just nothing that came to him as to what he could do about it besides just stare while he tried to piece anything together, little purple tendrils still leaking- leaking?- out of him.

“I promised brief,” she hummed conversationally, and she raised one hand toward his face, delicately drumming long fingers against his cheek. “Let’s get it over with already.” And then her hand was on his chest, and Indra didn’t know what she could possibly mean or expect him to do.

Then all at once, her expression twisted, smile replaced with a vicious scowl in an instant as her nose crinkled like she smelled something foul, and her gaze swiveled away from him. Maybe he was frightened then.

“Oi! I think it’s about time ye bugger off.”

Indra’s gaze trailed slowly after the monster’s, to where a girl donned in… lingerie… had shouted at them. The only explanation he could conjure for that was that she simply hadn’t seen- She didn’t realize that this thing wasn’t human. Indra’s attention flew back to the monster at her soft hiss of, ”Page…” And as immediately as it went, her fanged grin was back. “Something like you should be no trouble. Pitiful, weak knightling. And I’ll have an even better prize to taste tonight.”

It would have been Correct of Indra to tell the girl to leave. To run and get away from here. Even if she was trying to be helpful and brave, there was nothing she could do here. She would realize as soon as she saw the woman, anyway, and then they would both be her victims.

Nothing came out. He could not coerce his own voice to function, for the sake of one unlucky girl.

The monster dropped him. Indra’s feet landed underneath him, but his legs crumpled immediately, and he fell to the ground next to his car on his side. It wasn’t until that moment, when his own body wouldn’t even support him, that he even had the wherewithal to wonder what she’d taken from him up until that point.

“C’mon, girl,” the monster crowed as she moved around the car to better face the newcomer. “Come save the day. I’m sure he’s hoping for it.”

He couldn’t even walk- he couldn’t even walk. Yeah, the fear was definitely trickling in now as Indra tried to arrange his limbs underneath him well enough to simply move. But his legs just felt heavy. He felt tired, and weak, and pitiful, and he couldn’t move. And if he couldn’t escape while the girl was being a distraction, there was simply no reason for her to be here at all. Sucking in a sharp breath, Indra felt like he had to physically force words out of his throat like they were a solid object, “Get away from here!” He barked at the girl, even though he could barely even see her from his new position on the ground behind his vehicle.

What he could see from his prone position, was some sort of dimly glowing something- some object tucked against the curb beneath his car.

Oh s**t… oh s**t s**t s**t… Maya couldn’t help but mentally swear at her unpreparedness.

The youma she’d dealt with thus far were mostly feral creatures. Mindless aside from the carnal need to rend flesh with class and sharp pointed teeth. Easy enough to understand. But this one was new in a way that she did not like.

It spoke!

Seemingly capable of conversation, it was of an intelligent mind and that alone did not bode well for her. Get away from here the man had yelled and for a fraction of a moment, Maya actually considered. Not so much out of cowardice but because with the youma she’d fought before, they were more interested in her signature and she could lead them away.

The insectoid lady, however, was probably too smart to fall for that sort of trick.

All she had left up her non-existent sleeves was to bluff her way out of this. And so, she shifted her weight onto one foot, crossed her arms under her chest, and lifted her chin up with a level of confidence that would make many envy. “Care to dance?” She asked, not knowing how in the world she was going to contend with something that had four arms; but she’d try nonetheless and pray that someone else happened upon them that could dust the b***h.

She liked it when they were confident. She loved when the goody-goodies tried to come save the day with their superhero intentions, only for her to claw their stupid eyes out while they screamed. The White Moon always expected so much of themselves. Always thought they were infallible with their gifts. But their starseeds popped out of their chests just the same, after she was done showing them how <******** worthless they really were. The youma grinned back at the young page before her.

"Always happy to have a dance partner, dove," she cooed back. But there was nothing subtle or elegant about the way she moved. She charged forward, swiping to claw at the girl's face with sharp talons, but only managing to hook hair around her fingers. This, too, was an acceptable anchorage.

"Oh, girlie... You should come to these scuffles better prepared, hm?" She said, clenching a fistful of hair and dragging the page's face to within an inch of her own, mouth gaping wide to show off rows of pointed teeth posed to bite.

He didn't know why he reached for the little glass jar hanging out against the curb. Rationally, Indra should assume that anything beneath his car was just some bit of garbage that had fallen into the street, and he wasn't some magpie that could be easily distracted by shiny things. Loose trash was not going to help him here.

But it called to him like something ethereal, whispering that he just needed it now, and really, what did he have to lose? That monster woman was going to eat him and this girl, and any item in between the creature and its objectives was better than no item at all.

Indra's fingers just barely managed to hook around the thin cord attached around the lip of the jar, but as soon as they did, it felt like air whooshed back into his lungs. For all the struggle he'd had simply moving after the creature woman had dropped him, it felt like his legs were properly wired back into his body again. He could breathe. He could move. He could run- and he suddenly felt confident that if he ran, he'd be able to escape, something he'd definitely thought impossible moments prior.

Antisana braced his palm against the hood or his car, hoisting himself up from the ground to peer at the girl and the monster now attacking her.

If he ran (which would surely be the wisest thing to do for his personal wellbeing), the girl would be alone... She'd dove forward to help him, protect him, and running would mean abandoning her to the insectoid monster's whims. Could he accept sacrificing a young lady who had put herself between him and a monster? It certainly wouldn't be the socially acceptable thing to do...

The choice was taken entirely out of Antisana's hands as the creature whipped back around to stare at him as if she was newly reminded of his presence. With a warbled screech, she shook at the fistful of the other girl's hair grasped between her claws. "Another? Another?" She spat. "The knightlings are like disgusting ants today," she sneered. "C'mon, you," she dragged at the other page's hair, shoving her back in the direction of Antisana's car. "Let me get you both where I can see you."

Antisana hopped over the hood of his car, sliding across it to land on the street next to the other page. He crouched next to her, took her hand in his to help guide her to her feet. "Are you hurt?" He asked in a low tone, eyeing the monster warily as he spoke.

Maya’s eyes were squeezed shut, both hands pressing to the back of her head from being dragged by her hair.

“I’m fine,” she wheezed. A lie for sure but so long as there wasn’t blood the statement would be true. Without looking she knew there to be scrapes on her legs and her left palm from being dragged. They’d hurt worse later, but for now, her head was her biggest concern since it felt like that insectoid youma had managed to rip a chunk of hair from her scalp.

It took a moment for her to finally open her eyes and try to sit up and it was only then that Maya realized that the man was no longer in his work clothes but rather in a knight uniform like her; well not exactly. Barely clothed yes, but the colors and symbols were different. Under different circumstances, she might have even admired him as Peggy Carter reacted to Steve Rogers because good heavens did he have a nice chest.

“I don’t think we can take it on just the two of us,” she admitted quietly. Her own weapon, a small bouquet of golden Gingko leaves, lay on the ground beside them. “Unless you got some fightin’ moves. Running might be our only option.”

He didn't have any fighting moves. It had always happened that Indra hardly needed more than his raw strength as a deterrent against anyone accosting him. That he didn't look like any easy victim had always been enough- enough against other people, anyway. The monster girl certainly didn't seem to care what he looked like. Although she did seem hyper-frustrated by his new digs, something Antisana was only barely aware of in the moment.

"We could run," he agreed quietly. But he didn't know what the guarantee was that they'd actually get away. If the creature was unreasonably strong, there wasn't anything to suggest that she couldn't also be unreasonably fast.

Antisana's deep slate gaze darted fleetingly to his car door, the handle a scant foot away from the girl's shoulder.

If the monster could run unreasonably fast, it seemed less likely she'd be able to outrun a car than she would be able to outrun them. But the insectoid lady was standing right there, and at the other Page's suggestion that they should run, a caterwaul of noise escaped the creature's throat. "You're not going anywhere," she seethed, bolting towards them with, as Antisana expected, unreasonable vigor.

With no time for gentleness, he snatched the girl up by her arm, twisting around her so that he could grab the handle of his car and jerk it open, using the door as a shield as he bodily threw the other Page across the driver's seat and onto the passenger side. Claws hooked around the edge of the window as Antisana ducked into the vehicle, not even bothering to fight her about closing the door as he mashed the engine start button and lurched out of park, smashing his foot on the gas to the floor. The whole affair took a matter of seconds, and he'd hoped that once they started moving, they'd leave the monster behind.

But obviously, no such luck. She clung to the frame of his car, hauling herself up onto the roof and releasing the window edge just in time for the door to snap closed from the momentum. His engine had the softest, gentlest purr that did absolutely nothing to drown out the creature's hiss of, "Get out of there!" As she slammed- chnk- the heel of her palm against the glass of the window.

"She will break in-" He almost snapped at the other page as he tried to keep the wheel steady, despite being unable to keep his eyes fully off the creature already sending splinter cracks through the window.

Between being spun around and abruptly thrown into a car, Maya found it a bit difficult to get herself properly situated while the car was in motion. Initially, it was thrown in reverse and she fell sideways into the dashboard, her left arm hitting the passenger side airbag. Then he turned and the side of her head bumped into the window.

God Bless-

She understood the urgency of the situation but damn it was difficult to finally get seated. The youma slammed her palm against the window and the newly awakened page snapped at her as if this situation was somehow her fault. Maya nearly snapped back at him but instead just stared at him with the most incredulous look that spoke the words her mouth would not; No s**t Sherlock.

“Unless ya have somethin’ in the back I can use as a weapon then I suggest ya slam on the breaks!” Most things would be kept in the trunk; a bat, a crowbar, that ‘+’ shaped tool for removing the bolts on tires after getting a flat. A more lethal weapon, like a handgun, would be preferred since it’d be stupidly hard to try to get a good swing in a moving vehicle. But if he had at last something useful then she’d give it a try.

His breath skated sharp and quick past his lips, slate-gray eyes frantically caught between the road and the creature as she pounded on the window. The cracks spread and splintered with each thud of her palm. He couldn't see all of her: just a set of arms, one that pounded on the window and the other with nails dug into the frame to hold her in place, and her head where it craned over the side to peer at him with a grin full of pointed teeth.

The car jerked as he swerved, and he tried to keep his focus off of her.

"I- No, I have nothing," he admitted curtly. Two sugar gliders were in the back of his car, soundless despite his crazy driving, but there was otherwise nothing of note. Everything was neat: a vacuumed floor, the paper car manual tucked hidden into the passenger seatback pocket, a folded towel on the seat that his sugar glider carrier rested on. But otherwise empty. Antisana didn't like excessive clutter.

The air caught in his throat as he mashed his foot on the brakes, earning him a screeching sound as tires slid against the road- or as the monster screamed, he wasn't sure. In the same instant his car lurched forward from the stop, her hand crashed through the window, somehow managing to grab him by the hair and yank him forward as she would have been flung off. Instead, she was just twisted around off the roof and smacked onto the hood as Antisana's head was jerked hard into the window frame amidst half a pane of broken glass.

It crumbled out of the way quickly after that, the "safety glass" that was meant to keep people from being gored in an accident. He would've preferred if it held up better. Shards of deterrent to keep the creature from now throwing a second arm through the window as she cackled. "I said you're not going anywhere! No escape, never again!" Antisana could hear the strange, manic glee in her voice even over the blood pounding in his ears, the swaying streetlights seemed to faze in and out.

She twisted at his hair with her first hand, smearing him into the doorframe while the second hand pierced sharp nails down into his neck, just beneath his jaw. It felt like a drill, and for a terrible second, he thought she would for sure rip his esophagus out through those holes.

He hit the gas again and did not bother to stay on the road, tearing across the sidewalk and fully slamming his side of the car into a brick building that crushed the monster between two unyielding surfaces. Maybe the adrenaline made him delirious, maybe he'd damaged his head in any of the crashes, but he could've sworn, could've sworn that she was still beaming smugly at him, even as he watched her disintegrate into dust and ash.

His hands were trembling on the wheel, and then he abruptly smacked one hard over where her nails had dug into him. "********." He felt out of breath, dizzy. He'd barely moved, but he shook all over. "It burns," he seethed softly.

In the seat beside him, Maya was still reeling from the suddenness of his actions. Perhaps she had prefaced her previous statement with a request to let her put the seat belt on first because when he hit the breaks the first time, she definitely came out of the seat and damn near went through the cracked windshield.

Yes, on a normal day she could be classified as a bit of an adrenaline junkie. Sometimes she could be seen going almost 200 mph on the race track with her motorcycle. But this... this was a far cry away from anything she’d consider fun. If anything, this crash course on how to use a vehicle as a lethal weapon to dust youma did a supreme job on causing her stomach to churn violently and all she could do was cover her mouth with one hand to keep from throwing up beside him.

Her elbow and both knees were no doubt bruised from trying to brace herself using the door and center console. But those injuries were superfluous by comparison to the wounds on his neck or the ones on his forehead.

“We-” Maya moved to reach out to him but that simple act gave rise to an aggressive wave of nausea. She now knew what a green apple martini felt like; shaken to all hell.

She sat back ever so carefully and gave herself a moment to just breathe. Until this sickness subsided she’d be no use to him if she suddenly threw up inside his car. “We need to get you to a doctor.” Maya managed to breathe out “We as in I- me…” Whatever, he knew what she meant.

Grabbing ahold of her burgundy sash-like sleeve, Maya yanked on the fabric, pulling at the seams until it snapped the threads holding it to her bodice. It tore in some places but she was unconcerned; the next time she powered up it would be whole again, but for now, it would be used to apply pressure to his wounds.

“Is there a water bottle in the trunk?” no wait- Why ask that when she had one in her subspace? “Never mind. Here, c’mere-” Tired and frustrated with the cramped space, she yanked on the door handle and swung both legs out of the car. Each stride had her knees threatening to buckle beneath her but Maya managed to walk around his vehicle to the driver's seat where she reached in and cupped his cheek with her own shaky hand. “Lean this way so I can clean it.”

His car was trashed but that didn’t mean she wanted to add more blood to the mix.

"No." The word was a shuddered bark of command as the girl threw open the car door and swung her legs out of the seat. Antisana could not fully articulate all of what it meant, but he felt an uncomfortable desperation stemming from the confusion and the hurt. A part of him thought he must've lost his entire mind, but the girl could verify that he hadn't. If she bounced, he did not feel confident he would be able to get himself anywhere, and perhaps most importantly: inside of the vehicle clearly wasn't completely safe, but it must be better than anything outside of it. Echoes of 'never escape' resounded through his head. He wasn't completely convinced the monster was gone.

Antisana felt his companion's presence as something more than he could just see. Something friendly, radiant, safe. If he could drink that sensation, he would. He did not want her to leave, but he also couldn't do anything about it, if that was her objective.

But she only circled the front of his wrecked vehicle, coming to stop by the driver's side window.

She seemed young, younger than him almost certainly, but she was already on the move, working at actually solving their problems. Antisana thought he was quick on his feet to act, but his knuckles still clenched over the wheel, making the leather creak in protest. "Have you- Are you familiar with this?" Antisana wondered aloud. The wound, injury care, sure. But the question was for the broader event. She did not look as unsure and doubtful as he felt. He peeled his hand away from the punctures, drawing his trembling palm close to his face to inspect what mess had come away from his neck.

Admittedly, it didn't really make him feel better.

"What happened?" He asked quietly, leaning toward her at her request. Even though he'd experienced it, Antisana definitely didn't understand it. But there were foreign whispers flitting through his mind now: his name, a pledge, a purpose. They felt dulled by the sheer incomprehensibility of everything, and he turned slate colored orbs toward her for answers, still blown wide and pupils heavily dilated in shock.

Her hand was on his face. She was doing something no matter what she felt, but the contact made her aware of her trembling. "You are shaking, as well..." He whispered.
PostPosted: Sat Jul 16, 2022 2:41 am

“I’m fine,” she lied.

The bruises would darken come morning to some nasty deep purplish yellow color and the egg forming on the side of her head would be more prevalent in an hour. But those injuries paled considerably in comparison to the wound on his neck and face. Whiplash and concussions were something to be concerned about later, for now, she could at least see straight and think coherently enough to help him first.

“That,” Maya’s eyes glanced over to the hood of his car where a sweep of dust remained scattered across the dented metal. “Is what we call a Youma.” With careful fingers, she turned his head slowly to the side “It’s a monster from the Negaverse, although… I’ve never seen one like that before. Normally- in my experience, they’ve been feral beasts. Actin’ more like rabid animals. Never have I heard one speak before-” Intelligent, bi-pedal, a science experiment gone horribly wrong. It was like it had been pulled out of a sci-fi movie, and as someone who liked horror films, this one actually scared her.

“There’s no knowing what was on its claws.” The scratch on his neck needed to be cleaned. “This’ll sting-,” she offered as a brief warning. No reason to talk in maybe’s or treat him like a naive child who didn’t know what was coming.

Carefully, Maya poured the contents of the water bottle over the back of his neck

A youma from the Negaverse.

Somehow, Antisana didn't feel like he understood the situation any more than he did before he'd asked. His head pounded. Everything felt weirdly surreal, fake, unattached. But he knew things happened in Destiny City. People disappeared alarmingly frequently. There were always particularly vicious animal attacks, or sometimes mass hallucinations. He was pretty sure it was communally agreed upon that this wasn't a good place to live for a peaceful, fear-free life.

But he'd lived here since he was born. Nothing exceptionally unordinary had ever happened to him. He stared at the dented and battered hood of his car, faintly smoking and covered in dark, ashy dust. The girl had seen it before- or something close enough to share its name, at least.

"Where did it come from?" He asked, letting her move him however she needed to do whatever she could for the freely bleeding punctures on his neck. "And how? Why?"

He'd thought it was a human when he'd seen it reflected in the window of his car. It looked mostly like one, spoke like one, moved like one. Not enough to pass for a person from anything besides a distorted view, but it had been in town, right next to him before he'd even known to be alarmed. They couldn't all be so close? Even if they behaved like animals, if they looked strange, like she did, shouldn't there be pictures or stories that weren't reported in such a way as to make it just sound like people were crazy or imagining things?

This had happened. There were holes in his body. His window was busted where she'd broken it with her bare hand, and his car was totaled.

But this girl knew about it. "You- How did you know where it would be?" Cool water spilled down the back of his neck, but Antisana didn't flinch as he eyed her. Even if it stung as the wound was flushed, it was still better than the lingering, pulsating burning. She'd appeared right when he'd needed help. "How do you know what it is called?" And if his tone was low and slightly accusatory, he wouldn't apologize about it.
PostPosted: Wed Jul 20, 2022 7:09 pm

“Honestly? I have no idea where exactly they come from.” Other than the fact that they were part of the Negaverse, she had no idea how or why they appeared. “Only reason I knew where it was-” Maya leaned her head to the side, her expression looking more like a grimace. “Ah - It’s harder to explain without another one nearby. But I sensed it was near.” That was not at all helpful.

“When you grabbed the weapon,” the glass jar of something or other. “And powered up into…”She leaned back a bit to see what symbols were on his uniform. “Into a Knight of Pluto, it looks like. When you powered up you might have noticed it too. When that youma was on the roof of your car you might ‘of felt aware of where its body was at even if you couldn’t quite see it.” As if he had a firearm in the car, they’d both know exactly know where to shoot to land a kill shot.

“Or I guess, when you threw me in the car, you knew which way to drive without looking directly at her.” Granted he could have gone sideways and it would have been an okay choice so long as it took them away from the insectoid.

Carefully, Maya used the mauve-colored cloth to dry the area around his wound. “I’ll be honest though, I’ve never run into one that could talk. Most I’ve seen are feral, four-legged, and have a mean bite.” Or sharp claws… sometimes both if she was really unlucky.

Throwing modesty to the wind, Maya lowered herself down to eye-level rather than ask him to look up at her. “My name is Maya, I’m a Page, like you, but of Ganymede. But only when I look like this-” She closed her eyes and just breathed for a moment, focusing her thoughts on what she had been wearing earlier that day. “Like this, my name is Piper.” The scantly clad Page now wore something far less revealing. A sports bra, tank top and fitted jeans with a new black leather belt that had silver rivets.

It hadn't struck him when it'd first been brought up, but now that he was sitting, trying to piece it all together, Antisana had a dreadful realization. He didn't like how she kept referring to the monsters- the youma- in plural. '...No idea where they come from.' 'Most I've seen...' There were actually monsters in this city- multiple monsters- with a mostly unknown origin. 'Of the Negaverse,' but no idea what went into their creation, and without that, probably no way to know how to keep them from being created. His tongue felt like sandpaper. He stared blankly through the cracked windshield, and then down to his lap where what she'd called his weapon rested.

Which it would be if he had some vodka and a lighter, but what it actually looked like was just some holdover container for someone gardening. It was heavy enough in his hands, smooth and glassy. Probably couldn't use it as a 'weapon' more than once, though. He tapped his fingernail to the glass, and it made the tiny leaf sprig inside vibrate precariously. Plantonio.

He'd never named a plant before.

He tried to recall if he had actually felt anything like she was describing: a sense of where the monster had been without looking at her. But if Antisana had noticed anything like that, the feeling had been dwarfed by everything else happening; he couldn't pick it out as distinct now that it had passed. He gave a slight, tight shake of his head and raised his hand to hold the cloth she'd been dabbing at him with against the wound. It was a lot to try and process. She was being so calm, but he just felt... He didn't know how he felt.

Blank, maybe.

The P-shaped buttons down the front of his open vest gleamed a bright gold, and he picked at one with his thumb. "This is Antisana." He knew it because his mind told him he knew it, but he didn't know how. He'd never heard it before in his life, just as he didn't know how or why he was a knight. Just that he was.

"But my name is Indra." If he tried to follow her example and let the magical power fade off of him, he was left in his work garments: a dark button up and slacks, ripped from where he'd been dropped on the concrete against the curb. That much Indra could live with, but dropping Antisana's power left his body just quaking from exertion, like he'd been holding himself together with that power, and without it, he felt almost impossibly weak. His palm pressed harder over the stinging wound, and he looked shocked all over again as he stared at Piper. A very normal-looking (if not beautiful) young woman. He wouldn't have ever guessed she had magic.

"Thank you, for-" he notched his shoulder slightly on the side of his injury. "I am not sure I am comfortable going to a hospital, after... this." What would he even say? But it still burned like something on fire, and he sank a bit down into his seat, trembling and holding the cloth to his neck, and staring with wide eyes through the windshield.
